Quaker Windows & Doors

Poor quality windows and even poorer customer service/warranty adherence. We purchased 18 vinyl Quaker windows for our new build and the quality of construction is below what you would expect from American made windows. The trim pieces of numerous windows were shorter than then width of the window allowing water to penetrate into the window frame. Due to extreme weather in Jan/Feb of 2021 water that had leaked into one window went through multiple series of freezing and thawing, causing the bottom corner of one window to crack and break both the window and the bottom sill. Due to the large hole in the bottom of the sill water now drains into the hollow cavity under the window frame. Quaker sent three techs out to our house and they spent about three hours replacing all of the external vinyl pieces. When we asked about the fix for the large hole in our window frame they balked. The techs didn't have the supplies on the truck to fix it and the Quaker customer service, QC and operations teams quickly blamed the issue on improper use by the homeowner (i.e. slamming the 6" window shut). Despite the numerous pictures, explanations and the field rep witnessing water running out of a couple windows they continued to blame us for causing the issue that stemmed from their poor craftsmanship. I understand that during COVID times craftsmanship might not be what it should be, but a company should stand behind its products and honor their warranty. You learn a lot and regret a lot when you build a house. Far and away the biggest regret is choosing Quaker Windows.

We spec Quaker Windows in all of our custom homes. Most of our projects are in rural areas of Texas and need to be very durable due to the elements. We have only had great results and positive reviews from our clients.

We've build 5 houses. Used Andersen and Milgard windows on 4 of those houses and loved the windows. Decided to sway from the usual pick and try out Quaker for this house and it's the biggest regret. We are kicking ourselves for not sticking with Andersen. Quaker = Dollar Store quality/customer service vs Andersen = Neiman Marcus Quality/customer service. We had a window arrive with damaged trim that we photographed and notified our supplier the first week of February, nearly 5 months ago. The quaker rep has been out twice and has yet to repair or replace the broken trim, missing parts. The windows do not open/close smoothly like Andersen windows. We have a few windows that arrived with missing parts that we are still waiting for nearly 5 months later. Do not try to save a few bucks with Quaker. Pay a little extra and go with Andersen!!
