Intexure Architects

I am not an Intexure customer, but this does not mean that I am not affected by their construction. I am a next-door neighbor of a construction project. Intexure does not seem to have their stuff together. Their website and Instagram all look great, but the reality is that they seem to be biting off more than they can chew. It has been a year since the house next door has been demolished and they are still working on it. One reason is that there are other houses down West Alabama past Kirby on Virginia Street that are also being built and the contractors that they hire work a bit on one house then go to another. There is no set time schedule. Normally one would expect contractors to start fairly early in the day, work then leave at a reasonable time. This is not the case with Intexure. Yes, sometimes the contractors come by 7.00 in the morning the time they can legally begin. But this is never a guarantee during the week. There have been times where they start their mini bulldozer at 6.30 in the morning as I leave for work. I have had to talk to them and ask them to stop. Sometimes they might come around 10.00, work for a couple of hours, then leave. Sometimes they are working until right at 8.00, the time they have to legally stop working. One guarantee though is that bright and early, at 7.00 AM, on Saturday AND Sunday, their contractors will show up and begin working. For the last year, pretty much unless there has been rain, there has been no weekend respite from noise right outside our window, be that construction, or loud conversation. I have spoken with the contractors, and Russel, the manager (on the times he shows up), on numerous occasions about the noise level, and the mess that has been made right outside the construction of this house. Russel is no doubt a smart man and knows the ins and outs of this business. He definitely makes sure that you know that. I do not know the ins and outs of construction. However, I am from Houston and I know that everything gets demolished and built in a matter of months. Since this house has begun my wife and I have seen other houses in the neighborhood go down, and new ones come up and be sold and occupied. This house seems to be never ending. When I have spoken to the manager about this there is no standard, “I’m sorry about this. I apologize for the nuisance, we are working as fast as we can.” The response was, “Do you know anything about construction? He has also spoken with my wife. He once asked if she was the owner of our apartment because he wanted to use the driveway to bring in material. When she said no, his response was not, “Do you know the owner? May I speak to him or her?” His response was, “So you’re ‘just renters?’” I could continue with the numerous delays and frustrations, but I understand that there is a character limit. In short, Intexure does not even seem to care about paying customers, let alone the neighborhoods where they build, and the neighbors who they frustrate.

I have sold several Intexure homes. The quality and craftsmanship always exceeds expectations. They are beautifully modern with careful consideration on how one lives in their space. High ceilings, large windows and tons of natural light seem to be their trademark. These architects are an absolute pleasure to work with and stand behind their work.

Russell Hruska and InTexture designed and built our home at Chenevert Street in Houston. The house is beautiful and we've lived in for over a year now. We've had a few issues, as you do with any new construction, but InTexture has been excellent about working with us to resolve them and has stood by their product and made it right. I have no regrets purchasing our home from them, and would recommend them to anyone thinking of buying one of their properties.

We worked with Intexture to design our first home. They are talented, knowledgeable and easy to work with. A few highlights from our experience… 1.Elevated design and vision – The design was beautiful, simple and feels happy throughout. We really appreciated that they considered all family members (including our dog) in the design and that the design included many considerations that we did not think of such as seasons, best application of natural light, energy efficiencies. 2.Trusted advisors – We were apartment dwellers until we decided to work with Intexture. At times we were overwhelmed with the numerous selections and decisions that needed to be made; nor did we have the time to do our research. We trusted Russell and Rame to make decisions and have no regrets. The most notable were: overall square footage, lot location, pool size/placement and all custom cabinetry. 3. Intexture’s flexibility and accessibility – We were able to collaborate with Intexture remotely throughout the design phase and during the beginning part of the build phase. They accommodated our schedules in different time zones, communicated with us on regular basis and kept us involved by sending us pics and videos. This allowed us to see progress and it also allowed us to make changes on the fly. Everyone we worked with at Intexture was dedicated and so accommodating. Needless to say the final product is STUNNING. People regularly pause when they walk by to admire it! Thank you Russell & Rame!

I worked with Rame on a commercial project that had encountered several set backs in the past. Thanks to her organization and project management skills the project completed successfully. Intexure can do a lot more than design beautiful homes they also have the management skills to achieve success.

Based on my knowledge of Houston based Architects, I created a list of 10 architects I was interested in and interviewed my favorite 5 in the summer of 2008. I hired Intexure Architects based on how well the interview went coupled with my knowledge of a few of the projects that they had done. I found that Russell & Rame had the personality, enthusiasm, genuine interest and knowledge my wife and I were looking for in a design team. My favorite observation was how "in tune" they were to incorporating our desired life-style into the functionality of the final design. We began the project in 2008 and completed a set of permitted construction documents in 2009. Sadly due to personal reasons we did not move forward with the construction of the home. However, I was thrilled with the experience of collaborating with the Intexure team and would not hesitate in hiring them again should the need for design services ever arise. Special note: They are particularly adept at communicating in a effective manner with people that might have a bit of trouble visualizing what the final product might look like.

We hired Intexture to do the design for the renovation to our house, plus help in bidding it out to prospective contractors and thereafter act as a construction inspector to ensure that the construction was being done as part of the plan. They (Russell and Sean) did an amazing job. They came up with an interesting solution to our living, dining, kitchen and ancillary area plus designed the deck and garden area. We have been enjoying the space for the last 5 years and everyone loves it. I would definitely engage them again if I was to build or remodel in the future.

My wife and I met the Intexure team when we were beginning a search new residence after our children had left home and finished college. Our introduction came as a result of visiting home for sale on the secondary market which Intexure had designed in an area of Houston which we had selected as one of our top potential locations. Intexure's offices were a short walk from the home on the market and we simply walked in and began talking. Over several months we gained confidence in and an appreciation for the approach and style that Intexure espoused. We wanted to achieve a warm, contemporary feel for our residence. Intexure's knowledge of the area in which they were focused and the fact that they "lived" the design and style we wanted to achieve led us to contract for the design and building of our new home. When we moved to Houston from Europe and started to explore the Museum district the homes designed and built by Intexure Architect immediately drew our attention. We decided to work with Rame and Russell when we finally decided that this area was were we wanted to live. The result has definitely not disappointed us and exceeded our expectations. They worked closely with us to design our dream home, and we are very happy with the result, a beautiful, light open concept design that is great to live in. They have been very patient with us during the design process and helped us to make the right decisions by coming up with great suggestions and selections. The custom made bookshelf/room divider/Murphy bed is only one of the wonderful solutions they came up with. Rame has a great eye for color and she carefully steered us in the right direction when needed! Throughout the process. Both Russell and Rame have been and still are very accessible and when things come up, as they do in projects like this, they are very responsive and take full responsibility to fix whatever needs to be fixed. My experience working with Intexure Architects was absolutely wonderful! While I have purchased and sold many homes over the years, this was my first construction project and I heard about all the horror stories so I was quite nervous going into the project but they were outstanding to work with. There are of course going to be mistakes made by their subcontractors along the way and that is normal. Rusty and Rame stepped up and took care of everything right away. I barely even went to the home while it was under construction. I popped my head in once a month maybe. It was just so easy. They finished the house on time as promised and of course there are going to be little punch list items that come up as you live in the home and they addressed all of them. We have now been in our new home for 6 months and they are so nice that I still call them for little things that they come by and fix all the time that no other builder would do. These are things that are really not under warranty but they have workmen in the area so they just ask someone to run over and help me with whatever I need. Trust me – no other builder would do that. As a client Intexure Architects was wonderful to work with. Russell, Rame and their team truly understand the needs of a buyer who is looking for true modern. The architectural and design details of a Intexure home continue to surprise visitors whether it be the clever drop down mailbox built next to the front door or coat racks and storage units hidden underneath the stair landing. Energy efficiency and sustainability was also high on the list of things I was looking for in a home. Russell's estimate of $150 for electricity was spot on for the summer months in a home of 2500 sq ft. Intexure provides clients with a vast selection of materials, finishes, and appliances that add a touch of modern missing from other builders in Houston, attempting to create modern homes. At the same time they guide the client through the process to help them envision how the final product will turn out. Outside vendors they work are true masters of their respective field and are able to go above and beyond what is required in a normal project, whether it be the AC system or shades in the home. The I Construct app and web portal that is used to communicate with clients allows customer and developer to communicate in an efficient manner. Each time I have had visitors come to the home they have commented how they didn't know this level of modern didn't exist in a home in Houston.

Very attentive and on top the project. I've done one house with the group and will do my next one. its a no brainer to work with russel and rame
