Red Sun Landscapes

Seemed like a nice guy. Didn’t complete the project. His subcontractor did sub-standard sprinkler installation. Had to pay another contractor to fix the job. Both ghosted us.

Initially, we were impressed with Trent. He did work for us in the fall of 2021. Unfortunately, he did not complete the job although he did get paid for the entire job. In addition, his subcontractor who installed the sprinkler system did not fix an installation error which he had agreed to fix. Neither of them respond to numerous attempts to contact them through text messages, emails, phone calls, or voicemails.

Scope of Work: We hired Trent/Red Sun to handle the entire exterior except for the pool. This included grading the lot, driveway, grass, sprinklers, drainage, lighting, and of course, the landscaping. Some of the parts they did with their in-house crew, while other parts were subbed out, but ultimately, it all fell under Trent. Why we picked him: We decided to go with Trent because we felt that we would get the best balance of priority and experience, while also trusting that he would do what it takes to make it right. We felt that some of the other bids from larger companies wouldn't give us as good of a value due to higher overhead while at the same time also not providing as much attention or priority. Results: Ultimately, we got what we expected or more, and that's all you can really ask for. It seemed like Trent was onsite almost everyday, which was definitely not expected but good to see. Unfortunately, we made it a bit tough on Trent as he had to work around pool construction and stucco work, but he was able to work around it to keep things moving. During the home construction we dealt with and watched many subs work on the house, and I would say Trent was definitely one of the best involved in the build and I can't think of anything negative to say. -Good planning -Good communication -Good Quality -Timely Thanks Trent!

I hired Trent/Red Sun to do a large hardscaping project in my backyard. I had a designer do the layout, and took 2 quotes in addition to the designer. I did significant research/review reading prior to selecting him for a quote. Trent's rates were competitive (everyone was similar in cost) but he had an eye for some issues in the design that needed to be corrected, and brought me some unique materials in order to achieve the aesthetic that I was going for. (Hello---interlocking gecko pavers, like mc escher!) He worked with me to make several modifications to spread my budget out in the best possible way. He communicated well during all phases of the project and checked in on his install team regularly. There was a minor delay or two but he was always communicating well in advance--and ultimately met the "need to be done no later than" date well in advance. I had a few minor changes during the install and he handled them easily. I can be a picky customer and he was patient through the process. I would definitely use Red Sun again in the future.

Trent and his crew did an incredible job on our front yard. Trent's design disguised our garage conversion and the shape of the beds softens the straight lines of our house. His crew removed the existing driveway and landscaping and did an excellent job of installing the new design. BTW, I set up tables on the driveway for a party. It was a huge success. I highly recommend Red Sun Landscapes.

I hired Trent at Red Sun Landscapes to re-do my front beds. He was very professional and communicated clearly his ideas and the costs. He also gave me some ideas for future projects for the rest of my yard. He answered all of my questions about installation and watering timely and he is very easy to work with. I think Trent's fees are very reasonable for Dallas and I will definitely use Red Sun Landscapes again for our next project!

Trent did a great job. He listened to our landscape ideals and designed what we wanted. He and the crew showed up on time, cleaned up each day and were very professional.

I hired Red Sun to widen a driveway and to completely overhaul my front planter beds. Trent and his team came up with a great design and executed that design quite well and at a price I could afford. He personally checked on the project daily and he took me around to several of his suppliers to look at the proposed materials. He communicates well and is very competent about design and construction issues as well as coming up with cost saving ideas. After the project Trent called to give advice on how to deal with the recent winter storm which I appreciated. I would recommend him for your landscape project or for setting stone / hardscape and he also can handle irrigation / other scope as needed.

Trent was great to work with. He listened to our design vision and carefully created a plan to bring them to life. He paid attention to detail and ensured perfection in execution.

We had structural issues with our back yard and retaining wall related to drainage and soil levels. Trent surveyed our yard and provided a plan to resolve the issues and do some landscape redesign. The plans were carried out perfectly. The results are excellent and were completed in a timely fashion by very competent and pleasant people.
