Roots & Rocks Landscape Artisans

The stone plank patio in their idea book is the project they did at our house. Roots & Rocks replaced our deck with a granite patio/fire pit and surrounding landscaping. The results were amazing. We have used this space more in the last two months than we have in the last 5 years combined. From consultation through design, excavation and installation, their attention to detail and craftsmanship was top-notch. We highly recommend Roots & Rocks and will be gladly working with them again.

Dan and Corey are an amazing pair. We hired them to do our pool surround/outdoor living area and custom grill. From our first conversation, they were very focused on our needs and wants. We started with a great conversation about the look/feel we wanted and then talked about the budget. Dan was great (and up front) when my needs/wants didn't match my budget; and then he offered a few alternatives that resulted in a final product that was very similar to what we wanted without busting the budget. I think it's also worth noting that their attention to detail is amazing...and it's not just what you see. They spend a lot of time/energy getting the subsurface right to make sure that my pool area will look the same for many, many years. Lastly, their customer service is second-to-none. As an example, they came back at the beginning of summer to double-check that the work looked the same as it did when they finished a year or so ago.

We wanted to build a special spot in memory of our lost pets. While most other contractors didn't "get it", Dan and Corey were able to connect with us, understanding our needs, and more importantly producing a design that lifted our spirits. One of our neighbors said that the spot was so beautiful that we would never go back in the house. They're mostly right, we use it all the time and love it. The whole process was quick, transparent and flawless. Guys like these are rare and special.

My family has been thrilled with the work Dan and Corey did on our property. Our front and back yards needed a complete makeover, but we didn't really know exactly what we wanted. We put our trust in Roots and Rocks to design and build our landscape and we couldn't be more pleased. Our yard is truly one of a kind, with custom stonework and beautiful plantings everywhere. And our new firepit and patio is our new favorite way to spend time outside. Dan and Corey are responsive, friendly and creative, and when they start your job, they work on it straight through until completion. I can't recommend them enough. Five stars.

We hired Dan and Corey after seeing pictures of their work and are so happy with the results. We knew from looking at pictures of their past projects that their designs were beautiful, but we had no idea how much thought and engineering went into these designs ... not until they walked us through their design for our project. I shouldn't say they "walked through" the project because they did more than that - they really explained everything, listened to our preferences, concerns, motivations, and made changes to make it perfect for our space and for us. Things you should know that you can't see in the pictures: Dan and Corey are extremely patient, take pride in their work, and are very responsive to their clients. Not only does the finished product look great, but we know it was done right and will last for years to come.

I have always worked on the belief that "you get what you pay for". In regard to this company I would say "you get more than what you think your paying for". Their ability to create something out of nothing, listen to your wants and wishes and their commitment to deliver the very best for your money is incredible. They took a sizeable patch of nothing more than grass, a chain link fence and a maple tree and turned it into the most beautiful garden for me. My neighbours watched in disbelief as a natural stone waterfall, sunken patio and pathways and planting of all sizes appeared in the once baldy grassy patch that was my rear yard. That was last summer. This Spring, they took my small budget and added to the already magnificent garden. Although from the outset Dan and Cory gave me an itemised quote, it was only once they began work I truly realised the work involved in creating the design. Their quote would have read like a small book had they itemised absolutely everything that they actually did. Seeing them in action made me realise that I was getting much more for my money than I had originally thought. I can't recommend them enough. I know that I will be having them come back ever year to add and expand. If I sound like I've gone "over the top" with admiration...... Ask Dan and Cory and come see for yourself what they did for me. I'm so proud of my beautiful garden!

We have been working with Corey and Dan for several years. They have redesigned our yard with a patio, walkways, stairs and plantings. They did these designs with both a low maintenance and year-long color strategy in mind. They work well together interact with family and other workers with respect. Throughout all the construction we had several events that they were able to manage their schedule and kept the property neat. L & L does all of our mowing and landscaping. They do great work, always show up, have reasonable costs and are great guys to boot. I definitely recommend them.

We hired Dan and Corey last summer to design plans for landscaping a difficult hillside and our front yard. They selected and installed the plantings and sod and installed cobblestone edging and a paver walkway. We decided to have them do the work in three phases to match our budget. They have completed the installation for two of the three phases, and we are thrilled with the outcome. Their work is top-notch. They have an eye for design and they use top-rated materials. In fact, they turned an eyesore of a rocky, weed-filled hillside into an asset. They know what they're doing, and they do things the right way. They are a small company (just the two guys) so they do the work themselves - which is how we like to do things. We plan to have them do the final phase this summer.
