Scott with Roth Architects is a true professional and absolutely amazing at what he does. He turned our space into what we wanted and more! Particularly, in a space we thought we could only fit one bathroom, he walked us through the idea of adding a master bathroom and we don't regret it. Scott is not only knowledgeable at his craft as an architect, but also in many aspects of the process of the home renovation, which allowed us to have another set of eyes and viewpoint, outside of just our contractor, which was nice to have. I highly recommend Roth Architects!

We thought we were certain of the design of our new kitchen until Scott took it upon himself to propose a secondary design that 'started from scratch'. It was way better and gave us a walk in pantry! - not something you typically find in a Chicago bungalow. He then laid out all the electrical, lighting, and plumbing, submitted permits, and followed up on permits. We couldn't be happier with the design of our new kitchen!

Scott understood the concept of our home remodeling effort, got a permit approved in record time, helped with multiple finish and fixture selections to tie it all together and was efficient and responsive throughout the entire process. The house looks great. I highly recommend him without any qualification.

Scott was meticulous throughout our project. We did a gut rehab of our first floor and extended the back of the house to add a new entrance, pantry and mud room. Scott's ideas were innovative and were focused on the functionality of the space. The results were better than we hoped for. Our house is beautiful! Scott was also great at working with the contractor to make sure everything was perfect. Scott is very easy to work with and I would highly recommend him.

We could not have asked for a better experience during our renovation. As first time home owners we were somewhat overwhelmed by all the possibilities and processes. Scott was always patient and prompt when we had questions. He always took the time to make sure we had a clear understanding of the more technical aspects of the designs and drawings. He was also able to move our permit through Chicago's notorious application process with ease, responding quickly when the city decided changes needed to be made.

Scott served as our architect (Sigma Nu Alumni Association) starting 10 years ago as he provided us with some initial renovation plans for a fraternity house renovation at Northwestern University. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the original project was put on hold for several years. The project started back up again in 2012. Eventually, NU took over the renovation project and Scott served as their architect when the actual renovation began in March 2014. It was a very complicated project done in a compressed time frame, but Scott did an excellent job seeing the project through with numerous changes in the field on practically a daily basis. Even though Scott was not technically employed by Sigma Nu Alumni Association during the renovation, he kept us informed of the progress, consulted with us in coordination with NU's contractors as appropriate, and worked with us even after taking delivery of the building in September 2014 to ensure all punch list items were completed to NU's and our mutual satisfaction. Scott was very knowledgable about ADA issues, local Evanston historic preservation laws, NU regulations, and Evanston city codes, and when he didn't know something, he researched it and gave us the necessary answers to make decisions. Very meticulous in all aspects of his work. Despite the time pressures, I never once saw Scott get upset with any issue in the field. He was very professional and always a delight to work with no matter what the situation. Scott even helped last minute with picture boards for an open house we had showing the before and after pictures of the renovation. I would highly recommend him as an architect to work on whatever project you might have.

I had the pleasure of working with Scott on a very large residential project. As an interior designer working long distance, I found that he was easy to communicate with, creative and receptive to both the client's and my suggestions. Scott is a "team player". Outstanding ability to translate our concepts into structure and to implement the design concept into an actual structure that meets all tests. Always available to address any construction design or implementation issues. Works conceptually and practically with the entire build team, designer, builder and all contractors to implement all features without negatively affecting the resultant design and features. The house was under construction for three years. He visited the house on his own at least monthly; spoke to us or met us regularly and met with our builder and interior designer regularly all to insure that it was being built properly.
