Rockport Post & Beam

We have been in our forever home for six months. Evan, Kevin and Sarah helped us finalize our design and turn it into reality. Building is (and was) incredibly stressful, accentuated by Covid, record inflation and commodity prices, labor shortages and $5 gas. The RP&B crew did their best to keep us calm and their easy going professionalism got us to the finish line. We love everything about our dream home. Gary (and team) along with the RP&B subs did A+ work. Our generation home is blessed with constant compliments and we couldn’t be happier.

We are now 5 years post construction of our home in Brooksville, Maine. The planning process went very well. I like to be proactive in planning the space we were to live in, and Rockport was very easy to work with. I had visited a number of sites they had constructed, including some in progress and liked what I saw. I felt they were a step above the competition. Cost was reasonable. They were highly efficient when on site. We used locally cut wood, including hemlock beams, tongue and groove eastern white cedar, and pine bead board. We have been very pleased with the process, the final product, and the energy savings achieved by the SIP panels.

Evan, Sarah, and all the people that worked at Rockport Post & Beam were great to work with! They did a fantastic job building our barn. Both Sarah and Evan were so helpful in helping us design our barn and when construction began they were always there ready to advise and coordinate the construction. All of the workers at Rockport Post & Beam and the sub-contractors Evan hired were very courteous, professional, and great to work with. Evan, Sarah, Kevin and the whole team at Rockport Post and Beam absolutely knocked our building project out of the park. Not only did they help us navigate design issues, but they were extremely pleasant and professional. The appraisal on our finished house was absolutely higher because of their great reputation and excellent work. We had an extremely positive experience working with them, and we get so many compliments on our beautiful home. Would do another project with them in a heart beat and couldn't recommend more.

Our home construction was started in November 2019 and completed during the pandemic. One would think that complications and delays would prevail because of this, but our project went on seamlessly and finished on schedule. We are thrilled with our rock-solid new home, from the impressive Doug fir posts and beams surrounding and towering over us, to the craftsmanship that Gary and his crew put into EVERYTHING including our built-ins (a wall of cabinets, a wet bar, outdoor kitchen, etc.). Every contractor that worked on our home gave it their very best, and it shows. We've never seen such perfection in wood/tile installation, backsplashes, fireplaces and chimneys, lighting...the list is long. We can't wait until the pandemic is over so we can invite everyone back for a housewarming. Working with designer Sarah was SO enjoyable. She listened, but more importantly, gave suggestions that made us incredibly happy to have her in our corner. Everything she suggested - along with an associate in Springfield - turned out to be spot-on perfect for our home. She and Evan were very patient with our questions and concerns from start to finish. They both have laid-back attitudes that keeps the stress down! We can't sing Rockport Post & Beam's praises loud enough. No regrets. Only a perfect retirement home.

We kind of found Rockport Post and Beam by accident. We had an idea what we wanted in a cottage, but hadn't even picked out a lot yet. We were so impressed by Evan Dyer after our first meeting that we didn't even consider another builder. He introduced us to a realtor to help with our search for a lot, and after finding the lot we eventually purchased, Evan outlined the ideal spot for the cottage. He also had his father show us a cottage like the one we picked out so that we could see the layout to make sure it was a fit. Evan recommended the flooring company, hooked us up with a kitchen planner at Home Depot, and pretty much led us through every detail of heating, electrical, and plumbing. We are extremely pleased with our cottage and with the work of Evan and his staff.

Rockport provided the frame and SIP panels for our new house. They did a lovely job, delivered on time and budget, were very professional, and one could see that they love their work.

I have worked with Evan and the RP & B crew on three separate projects now (a new home, a sauna, and a lake house), and I doubt if I'll ever work with another general contractor moving forward. Whether it was the professionalism from the crew on the site, the attention to detail from Evan and the design team, or over all quality of the build - I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Would recommend 10/10.

Rockport Post and Beam built our new addition. We chose to do the unfinished package to save some money. Being a young family we would have never thought that we could afford a place this nice but Evan worked with our budget and made it happen. The crew was professional, down to earth, helpfull (they still help me with advice even though there end of the project was completed a while ago), and kept right to there proposed time line and budget. My only regret in hindsight is that I didn't have them do more of the finish work (me trying to save $$$). I would and do highly recommend working with them. These guys were great! In house design was key! Easy to work with and had a lot of good design ideas. The actual build on their part was fast and efficient. I built on a high ledge on an island off the coast of Maine. They commuted most days and spent a few nights but got it done! Highly recommend.

Rockport Post and Beam completed my barn and loft effectively, efficiently and on budget. My contacts there were professional and personable. They guided me through crucial decisions nicely. They encountered challenges with weather and ferry transportation and they were unflappable.

My wife and I are in the process of finishing our new Rockport Post and Beam home. We've worked with RP&B from the design process straight through. In the beginning they listened to what we were looking for in our new home and really delivered on what we told them. It was really nice because they were most concerned about designing what we wanted and not trying to up sell us or design something bigger than what we wanted or needed. They offered great suggestions and in the end came up with just what we were looking for. After the design process was over they began to make our plans become a reality. They helped as we picked Materials and finishes. When they came on site and began the building process they were super efficient,professional, and great to deal with. When they started they were there everyday until they were finished no down time waiting for them to show up. The finished frame and house is absolutely magnificent everyone that stops and looks is in awe at The precision and beauty of the craftsmanship of the home. In my career I've been around a number of trades and construction projects. I know the headaches and nightmares that can come along with projects like this and can say that the process for us has been nothing short of positive. Our experience with Evan , Kevin and everyone at Rockport Post and Beam was outstanding. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a company to build with.
