A big shout-out to Lush Greenscape Design. After we provided a list of essential elements, Ryan McWhirter—Lush’s owner—provided a thoughtful, cohesive design supported by detailed 3D renderings. These visuals were invaluable in helping us envision how everything would come together with mature plantings. Our project was extensive, particularly because our corner lot effectively has three highly visible “front yards.” The HOA’s Architectural Review Committee had never reviewed a project of this scope, so approvals were lengthy and complex. Lush’s detailed drawings proved essential in securing final approval for everything we wanted, including xeriscaping, a golf cart garage, pergola, fireplace, and pet relief area. The initial project estimate gave us pause, but after thorough pricing due diligence—and as we came to better understand Ryan’s creativity and design approach—we felt confident moving forward and awarded Lush the project. Execution took nearly four months and presented more challenges than anticipated. Many plantings required jackhammering through stone to reach soil, and once the sod was removed, unexpected grade variations became apparent, requiring on-the-fly solutions. Despite these hurdles, Ryan consistently approached each obstacle as an opportunity for creative problem-solving and delivered impressive results. Now that the project is complete, we have an even greater appreciation for the craftsmanship, vision, and overall value Lush Greenscape Design provided.

After viewing Lush Greenscape’s website and their spread in Dwell magazine, we met with Ryan McWhirter and team to update the entrance to our German style block house and the surrounding native gardens. The process was somewhat lengthy, but Lush delivered a thoughtful, innovative design that offered everything we could ever hope for. Unfortunately, the installation estimate was far beyond our original budget. We admire Ryan and enjoy his team so much that we hope to implement some of the design in the near future.

We approached LUSH with a few practical problems we needed to solve with our outdoor space, but we did not just want practical solutions, we wanted them to be aesthetically beautiful, creative and stylish. LUSH did not disappoint. They approached our outdoor space holistically, providing attractive options to rethink every inch of our yard, reclaiming areas that were previously unusable and transforming barren sections into a sturdy, shaded pergola with beautiful, irrigated steel planters. The attention to detail and longevity is evident in the craftsmanship of the trade work. It has not only increased our joy in using our garden but has also undoubtedly increased the curb appeal and value of our property. It was a pleasure working with LUSH at every stage, from the exciting moment we saw drawings of how our bland yard could be transformed to the final punch list. I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to LUSH again for a future project.

As an architect, based on the work that was featured on their website, I was excited to team with LUSH on a very unique tiny home project that is situated on a standard neighborhood sized lot. Needless to say, there was a lot of yard that needed to be dealt with and Ryan and his team seamlessly designed and executed a unique plan that really enhanced and brought the architecture to life. LUSH prides itself on coming up with one of a kind features for each design that they tackle and the result is nothing short of artistic. The installation team was hard working, efficient and friendly and Ryan was always available to discuss each feature before it was installed and was open to consider modifications when requested. In addition, LUSH is careful to use a palette of plants that will thrive in our harsh San Antonio climate where rain water is not so plentiful and he partners with true expert artisans of their craft. I look forward to working alongside LUSH in the future and would recommend them to anyone who values a thoughtful, artistic and one of a kind landscape.

We started a conceptual rethinking of our usable outdoor space with privacy at the forefront. The Lush team came through with very forward thinking designs. We landed on perhaps the more conservative design idea, but not shy of intense problem solving. The team handled all the challenges without cutting corners. If you want things done right and a design that compliments their portfolio I could not speak highly enough about the company. This review is written more than 6 months since the project wrapped. We have survived record breaking heat and now record breaking freezing temps. The bones of landscape design are important and we have them. We received plenty of guidance from Lush throughout the heat and freeze with regards to protecting our investment, but the 'bones' are what we are truly proud of.

From day one working with Ryan and his team was awesome. They under promised and over delivered. Ryan is very creative and helped us get comfortable with unique design and plantings. We are elated with the final product. We are on a golf course so our landscape gets a lot of visibility and numerous people have commented positively and asked who did our landscaping. We are very pleased and don’t think you can go wrong with Lush Greenscape.

Ryan and his team were the utmost professionals. We had a challenging slope on our property but Ryan’s design captured our vision as well as solving the slope issue. Their attention to detail was outstanding. Our front yard looks amazing! We are thrilled and looking forward to working with Lush again.

We had a spectacular experience working with Lush! The Lush team is professional from the initial consultation to the design and installation. The finished product is nothing short of breath-taking. I would highly recommend Lush to anyone looking for beautiful landscaping.

I hate to write this review as I initially enjoyed working with Lush and Ryan, but I hope to help someone else from wasting their own time and money as I have. Things started ok: Matt and Ryan came out to my home twice to discuss the project and even though there was a few months where we lost all contact with them, they eventually developed a plan four our landscaping which included a pool. Unfortunately, it is now more than 18 months and $4500 later and no progress has been made. We received design drawings for the landscape and pool in September of 2020 with the promise that construction documents would be forthcoming; however, since that time all emails and phone calls to Lush have gone answered. If Ryan was not interested in our project, that's fine, but it sure would have been nice to know almost 2 years and thousands of dollars earlier.

Ryan and Lush are not Landscape Architects alone, they are Landscape Artists. Our yard’s transformation has been magical. This includes terracing, plant choice, concrete work, gates, wood work, and an outdoor shower like no other. It was truly a pleasure to work with Ryan and Lush, we would highly recommend LUSH to anyone contemplating a high end landscape project.
