We are just finishing a project with Salt as our architect and NH Swain as our builder. Everything has turned out better than expected and the interplay between architect and builder was exceptional as our cottage went up. It’s easy to see from their gallery that Chris is a special talent and Alissa was great in steering us to design elements that we are thrilled with. Basically on time and on budget with really nice and responsive people. Makes me want to build again!

After 25 years of ownership, I decided it was time to renovate our home on Cape Cod by adding a master suite on the first floor, completely renovating the kitchen, creating a powder room and updating the second floor bath. I was in Florida so I hired a local contractor who put me in touch with Salt Architecture. Salt was a God-send! They listened to my needs and drew the plans to incorporate every detail. Between video conferences, email and pictures, I was kept up to date with every step of the project. As construction progress, time came to select the cabnetry, tile, knobs, etc, etc, etc. Again, Salt made the process easy. Instead of being overwhelmed by choices, Salt made a few suggestions in each category and we worked together to finalize the design. Salt never made the project about them or their design. It was always my ideas and/or their suggestions which were considered, discussed and incorporated. I can not speak highly enough about Salt Architecture and encourage anyone who is plannning a major renovation project to contact them. You will not be disappointed.

Salt Architecture did a fantastic job designing my project. we built a pool house, screened porch, master bath and outdoor shower. The designs were perfectly suited to the cape style house with well thought out finishes. Both Chris and Alissa were easy to work with, listened well and maintained the highest standards in every aspect of the project.

We can't say enough about how terrific SALT Architecture is. They recently designed a house for us (a new build) in Cape Cod. The design was extraordinarily beautiful, and they were meticulous in their attention to detail. They also helped us hire and monitor a builder, and we could not have navigated the process without them. We have worked with many professionals over the years, and have not ever worked with such a highly professional, talented, patient and kind professional. The architects from Salt were our very own architectural design dream team! What started out as a renovation of an existing 1950’s ranch quickly became a demolition and complete rebuild of a new home on the site. There were so many issues that we encountered throughout the process and we were so lucky to have Chris and Alissa advising us every step of the way. Their incredible expertise, knowledge and connections were all instrumental in completion of construction of our home in nine months. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Not only is our new home beautiful, but it is so functional in ways we could not have imagined. In addition, we really enjoyed working with them. It was truly our pleasure! Their design aesthetic is beautiful and they always provided a range of pricing options on all aspects of the design. A neighbor recently commented that our home is one of the most beautifully designed homes from an architectural perspective that he has seen! We completely agree and would highly recommend Salt Architects for any project without reservation.

We had the pleasure of working with Salt Architecture on the remodeling of the first floor of our two story Cape Cod Colonial, built in 1960. What began initially as a kitchen renovation developed into a multifaceted project, which included structural changes to our dining room, room off kitchen, and front porch pergola, and, by extension, resulted in the installation of a new septic system. The talented husband and wife team were extremely considerate of our budget and time, and provided creative solutions to make our home a more functional and beautiful place. They also provided us with invaluable guidance throughout this intensive process and were especially calming and reassuring during the construction phase as they communicated well with our contractor. Now we are enjoying our dream kitchen and a home that provides better space to entertain. We highly recommend Salt Architecture for their professionalism, artistic skill and kind nature!

We hired Salt Architecture to design an addition to our salt box house on Cape Cod. Chris and Alissa immediately grasped the concept we were looking for to bring light into the house and maximize our yard space and view. They designed a kitchen, sitting room, mudroom, powder room, and garage that far exceeded our expectations. It integrated beautifully with our existing home, while updating it with the openness we were looking for. They made the design process an enjoyable experience, never missed a deadline, watched our budget carefully, and our builder told us that with the drawings they prepared, the approval of our building permit was the easiest he had ever seen in our town. We couldn’t be happier with their services, and can’t think of one criticism. We thoroughly enjoyed working with them, and highly recommend Salt Architecture without hesitation!

We had an amazing experience working with Salt Architecture. They took into account the history of the house, structural and personal, and listened to our needs and ideas before developing drawings. Each step of the way they helped us to think about materials, budget, and use of the space. This was a big undertaking for us, and we were grateful for their thoughtfulness in redesigning the house into spaces that would be right for our family. We love our new house, and the small details--interior windows, square windows throughout, cozy reading nook, and wide simple trim. The house now strikes a nice balance between the traditional farmhouse of its origins, and the clean lines of a more contemporary home. They brought tremendous expertise and experience in designing homes for families, and homes near the water. We had the pleasure of working with Salt Architecture to take our originally built 1902, 1800 square foot farmhouse to an updated dream home. They listened to our needs, and created a plan that solved some much needed space and storage issues. With the addition, they were able to adapt the classic architecture to the convenience of modern living with a family of five and making it look as if it had been here all along. This was our first time going through such an extensive addition/renovation project and they did a tremendous job of making it easier for us not only in the planning stages, but also seeing the project though from start to finish.

We have worked with Salt Architecture on two projects, and, based on our recommendation, they are designing a new house for friends. Each project is well thought-out and flows together perfectly. They were able to solve issues and create spaces that made perfect sense. Salt Architecture designed functional and fabulous homes for us. Working with them was a complete joy!
