We hired Sane Design to help us redecorate our living room, dining/family room and with window treatments. Nikki was professional and well organized, she is easy to communicate with and really listened to our interests. The ideas that were presented to us really reflected that. Sane Design did a fabulous job decorating our home. They chose furniture, fabrics and rugs for every room in our house. They were a pleasure to deal with every step of the way, and they were on time and on budget. If ever a challenge arose, they were completely transparent and clear about what our options might be (eg wait for a fabric vs chosing a new one). I highly recommend them!

We had a wonderful experience working with Sane Designs. We renovated our apartment which included knocking down walls, designing closets and renovating our entire kitchen. Nikki, not only helped with designing the space but picked out all of our furniture, rugs, paint colors, lighting fixtures, fabrics, pillows etc..designing every single room in our apartment. One of the reasons we decided to gut our kitchen was because of our confidence in Nikki. It is beautiful and we love it. Nikki chose all of our cabinet, hardware, appliances, and paint. She also helped us with our art. I loved working with Nikki and always enjoyed our time together. The contractor and arctitect on the job loved working with Nikki as well and often asked for her opinion and expertise. She was always extremely respectful when working with other professionals on the job. Nikki was always very respectful of our budget as well. I am now thinking about gutting our bathrooms...mainly because of my confidence in Nikki and Sane Designs.

We chose Sane Designs for a gut renovation of a 1-bedroom apartment in the Union Square area of Manhattan. We'd never worked with a designer before and needed a lot of guidance, especially since we were buying all new furniture. They got along really well with our architects and worked as a team. What makes them special? An unerring eye for color and pattern. Incredibly resourceful about bringing us smart ideas. Very savvy about where to invest in higher-quality pieces and where to save money. Long story short, they worked tirelessly to make sure that we got the home of our dreams. Sane designs was creative responsible and reliable. They took what we wanted and gave us choices based on our specific parameters and ideas. Sane Designs worked on color scheme, fabrics, window treatments, lighting, and furniture placement for our side-by-side living room and family room, and we are thrilled with the results! Sara has a great eye for color, pattern, and lighting to bring a room to life and add sophistication without sacrificing comfort. The custom pillows and window treatments "made" the room. Sane Designs truly takes the time to understand each client individually, and create stylish solutions that fit the family/customer. We couldn't be happier!

Sane Designs designed came in to take over (and “fix”) where another designer had left off on the interior furnishings for all rooms in my four-bedroom apartment. We have worked with Nikki and Sara at Sane Designs on and off for several years and can't recommend them highly enough. We originally hired them to help "finish" our apartment, with rugs, window treatments, and light fixtures and ended up also getting their help on some furniture pieces as well. My husband and I have a mix of traditional and contemporary and we like that mix; they have always been respectful of working with/around pieces we are devoted to, and also practical, providing options at various price points. They have great taste and always have a point of view, but are also really responsive/iterative, based on feedback from us. We have referred them to friends and family who have been equally pleased and we frequently get complements on our apartment from guests. We had another small project we needed help on and they were immediately on board, without hesitation, even though it's not the scale of many things they work on.

I have used Sane Designs twice for major design projects and they are excellent in every way. Sara and Nikki are creative and have a great sense of style, color, space and function. Every room they have touched in my house is beautiful. They are great to work with -- they listen, share ideas and make the design process a true collaboration. They are sensitive to budget and will suggest lower cost alternatives as well as worthwhile splurges. I have worked with them to put whole rooms together (furniture, fabrics, window treatments, rugs, paint color, lighting, wall paper, etc.) as well as on updating rooms that needed a boost. They see spaces in ways I never would and suggest colors and textures I wouldn't find on my own, all to great result. I have a house that I love that is practical for my family and looks great.
