We hired Scott to manage a kitchen remodel in an older home that involved significant structural modifications to accommodate new stairways. I would not recommend Scott and his set of subcontractors for work on an older home. He and his framer installed a door with a framing nailer and cracked the frame. They had to reinstall it, so they used a trim nailer and left the frame bowed so that it wouldn’t shut properly and I had to ask to have it fixed. I still had to make additional adjustments using the appropriate screws and shims but also had to modify the latch bore because it was slightly crooked. I’m still having problems with it. Because I performed much of the finish detail and trim work, I had to find the issues. Scott implemented zero quality control. The stairs weren’t level. The cabinets weren’t level. He had the opportunity but made no effort to level the ceiling. His electrician, who was always in a rush, decided to check code and move several boxes after both sheetrock and cabinets were installed. His flooring guys damaged our brand new windows by throwing scraps at them, missing the opening. I had to demand they return to fix smaller issues as well. Scott is a nice enough guy and responsive enough, but we were disappointed in the level of quality control and craftsmanship that he should have offered.

Scott did a fantastic job accommodating our needs with our bathroom remodel. We also used Scott for our screened porch remodel. His professionalism, timing, and dependability were deeply appreciated. His estimates and cost analysis were realistic and reasonable. He also gave us terrific design ideas and options that we would never have thought of. We have recommended Scott Hickman to numerous other neighbors and friends for various projects from bathroom and kitchen remodels to outdoor patio/deck/screened porch projects.

Scott was referred to us by a close friend. Scott responded very quickly to my request for estimates for replacement windows, driveway/walkway replacement, brick patio replacement and tree removal. His estimates were very competitive and he recommended where we should start first. To help maximize our budget he provided a few options to meet most of our requirements. We completed the tree removal and replaced the original brick patio with beautiful pressed concrete in December 2014. Windows are scheduled for January 2015 and the driveway work will be completed this spring. Scott is very easy to talk to, listens to our needs and answered several questions. You can tell he really enjoys what he does and takes pride in his work. We have several major projects still to do and look forward to working with Scott and team in the future.

We have used Hickman Construction company for two large remodeling projects - one for our home and another for a relative's home. The first project involved installing new carpet and painting the whole home. Scott Hickman and his team made this process easy, including making recommendations on the choice of carpet and moving all the furniture. The second project included removing the popcorn ceilings in the whole house and painting all the rooms too. Scott Hickman does an excellent job communicating the status of the project and is very accessible. Every aspect of these projects was completed on time and on budget, and the result was beautiful. I highly recommend Hickman Construction Company.

Scott and the team updated our laundry room into a more functional laundry/mud room. It's now my favorite room in the house. Items they did: installed new tile floor, moved dryer vent, added new water and electrical hook up, moved and stacked washer and dryer, replaced washer seal, paint, build bench and cubbies, build raised dog "Feeder". Looks awesome.

Scott was an outstanding contractor and is someone I will use again if the opportunity arises. He always kept us informed as to what he was doing, who was scheduled for the week and what tasks would get done as we moved through the building phase. Prior to building, he showed us exactly what he would be doing and took our ideas and incorporated them into the design. We could not be happier with the result!!!!

The Hickman team was professional and delivered what they promised, when they promised it. From the very start they heard what we wanted to do, and found ways to make it happen. When other vendors were engaged, we received the same level of professional treatment. Almost every home improvement project it seems runs into unexpected issues--and we did. When that happened, the Hickman crew helped us find a suitable resolution. Would recommend them to anyone.

Very Impressed with Scott Hickman. Excellent craftsmanship, ability to understand creative concept without specific drawings, attention to detail. Scott Hickman created an office our of our dining room that included leaded glass windows and pocket doors. It is absolutely beautiful. He was able to work on a very tight deadline with us. He also installed a ventilation system in our kitchen for our cooktop. The finished product was exactly as he described it beforehand. He installed a Murphy Bed in a book shelf wall unit that is both functional and aesthetically appealing. He installed a ceiling , recessed lighting and some electrical outlets as well as performed some plumbing work for us. He is amazing. We intend to use him and his crew for our next project. His workmanship is equivalent to his awesome personality and easy going, humble attitude. He's simply awesome!

We have hired Scott for several small jobs around the house: new light and bath fixtures, etc. He has always been prompt, thorough and fairly priced. I would highly recommend Scott to anyone looking for a contractor they can trust to show up on time and do the work right.

Great job on repairing doorframe, quick response, professional, very pleased with results. We will use Hickman Construction again. We have used them another time before this, in 2013, for needed work before putting our house on the market, and were pleased with results. Phil and Linda Wright

Scott has been the most amazing partner! He is thoughtful, creative, proffesional and just an all around great guy to know and to work with. We've engaged Scott to help us with a myriad of projects but the most outstanding was his work with us on a wine cabinet that is simply the coolest place in our house. He started with a quick sketch and ended with an amazing product. Cannot "oooh" and "aaaah" enough about Scott and his work!

We completely gutted and remodeled our master bath. Replaced flooring, shower, tub, cabinets, counters and a door. Added a window and a built-in cabinet. All work was done well, and Scott and his team did everything in their power to make our vision become reality, including researching tile and working a granite vanity into a tight corner. We asked for and received an itemized list of materials and services, which really helped us decide where to save and where to splurge. We had a transparent budget to work with, and there were no surprises regarding extra costs. Everything turned out beautifully and functions well. We could not be happier and recommend them highly.
