My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

About Us

SDH Studio is an award-winning architecture and interior design firm founded in Miami in 2012 by Venezuelan architect Stephanie Halfen, AIA, NCARB. The studio designs custom homes across South Florida, the Caribbean and internationally, with work in the Bahamas, Jamaica, Antigua, Belize, Mexico, Colombia, Panama and Colorado. Our work is grounded in tropical modernism: modernist ideas reworked for strong light, a hot climate and the rhythms of contemporary life. We design the architecture, interiors and landscape as one. Many of our homes sit on the water: oceanfront in Golden Beach, bayfront on the Venetian Islands and Bay Harbor Islands, along the coast from Palm Beach to Naples and out to the Bahamas. Each plan turns toward the horizon, so terraces, courtyards and pools become rooms in their own right. Clean lines and natural materials carry through from the façade to the furniture. Every home we design is a one-off. Our architects and interior designers work as a single team to create an immersive experience that redefines luxury living, transforming each client’s dreams into a modern sanctuary inspired by their way of living. We call this approach The Art of Luxury Living®. SDH Studio is consistently ranked among Expertise’s Best Architects in Miami and Ocean Home’s Top 50 Coastal Architects in the US. It has been repeatedly named to the Luxe Interiors + Design Gold List, has won multiple Best of Houzz awards for Design, and has won International Property Awards for its work in Florida and Belize. Stephanie serves on the Town of Golden Beach Building Regulatory Advisory Board.

SDH has been a pleasure to work with. They put in the time to understand our project to give us a first-class design that functions. It's was obvious from day one that Stephanie is passionate about architecture & design and has studied her craft. She didn't stop working on the plans until she was 100% happy with the result. They are a very responsive firm that has worked well with everyone involved to keep our project flowing. They have the magic.

Stephanie and her team have been a pleasure to work with. They really took the time to understand our needs, and worked extremely hard to satisfy them all. They are very well organized and on top of the entire process from the beginning through the approval process. Although there are many headaches and stresses when designing a home, none have been a result of the SDH team.

It has been a real pleasure working with the entire team at SDH. Throughout the entire process they paid close attention to detail and innovation, while preserving the client’s need as a guiding tool. They bring a fresh perspective to space and aesthetics. They are reliable and always accessible. SDH is a one stop solution studio that facilitates and guides the entire process from conception through full development. I highly recommend them.

SDH conceived a beautifully designed and functional home, perfect for our family The team skillfully integrated indoor and outdoor living in to their design, combining materials with great taste. They took maximum advantage of the spaces given the limitations of our lot, and most important, they made a priority to understand how the "living dynamics" of our family works when designing our dream home It is a delight to work with this talented group of professionals

Working with Stephanie and her team has been an absolute pleasure. The whole team is committed to making the process an experience. Designing a new house is not an easy process and could be stressful. This has been the complete opposite. Dates are kept. Meetings are meaningful and the design process really flows. Consideration for our needs has always been in the forefront without compromising design and functionality. A+ to SDH

We are extremely happy we chose to work with SDH Studio. Both the Lead Architect and the Project Manager were very attentive and responsive to our wants, needs and preferences; highly knowledgeable to guide us through doubts and concerns; worked promptly on initial drafts, revisions and finals; and most important of all created for us a gorgeous and perfectly functional final design that fits flawlessly with our family’s taste and lifestyle. We highly recommend SDH Studio with any doubts or reservations.
