Even then, when you finally get it, they'll claim they needed to take out a restocking fee because the item wasn't in perfect condition (a complete lie). AVOID AVOID AVOID

⭐☆☆☆☆ Disappointing Experience – Poor Product & Customer Service I recently ordered two Boho Metal Pendant Lights from Shades of Light for an interior design project. When they arrived, they appeared fine in the box. However, once installed by a licensed electrician, it became glaringly obvious that one of the pendants was defective — it was significantly "smooshed," visibly misshapen, and over ¾ of an inch shorter than the other. Since they were installed side-by-side above a kitchen island, the difference was very noticeable and unacceptable, especially for such high-end fixtures. I immediately contacted Shades of Light, expecting a prompt and professional resolution. Instead, I was met with cold and unhelpful responses from a customer service agent named Holly Smith. Not only was there no apology, but I had to jump through hoops just to be acknowledged — taking multiple photos and emailing them, including one of the box (which was in perfect condition and clearly not the cause of the damage). Despite explaining that my client had a tight deadline due to an upcoming graduation party and that we needed the replacement rushed, I was met with delayed responses, dismissiveness, and not a shred of empathy. I followed up several times and each response was curt and unapologetic. No offer to expedite shipping, no sense of urgency, and still no apology — all after spending a considerable amount on these lights. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, not only for me but for my client as well. Shades of Light's customer service is shockingly poor, especially given the premium prices they charge. I expected far better from a company that markets itself as high-end. I will not be ordering from them again and will strongly advise clients and colleagues to avoid them as well.

Excellent quality lights, secure shipping, and professional interactions with Customer Service I have purchased three chandeliers and two sconces from Shades of Light and they are beautiful and quality pieces. All lights were packaged very secure and the shipping was fast. I had a question and communicated with Customer Service who was prompt, professional, and provided me thorough and well-articulated answers. She appeared to guinely care about my needs as a customer. I will continue to shop from this company.

Absolutely do NOT recommend shopping here. Their website is constantly glitching. They have gone back and charged my credit card twice now without authorization. Absolutely avoid the hassle of working with this company. Their tech department does not have things figured out well enough to run a website and their customer service is slow and unhelpful. I have a pro account and it has never worked properly.

Terrible quality for price point. I purchased two Diner Drop double sconce vanity lights in polished nickel in November 2022. In December 2024, I realized the decorative metal rings were covered in rust. I contacted Shades of Light and they said the warranty had expired and there was nothing they could do. Buyer beware!

Ordered in stock outdoor lights in 3rd week of june. it's July 14 and my lights are still not here . there is no follow up from the company nor any notification of where my lights are. Unfortunate and perhaps the worst customer service I have seen in my recent memory

This store sells inferior products. We ordered two matching vanity lamps for our bathroom. We installed one. The fixture was not built squarely. One of four small screws which hold it to the wall plate did not want to come out of its fitting, nor return fully into its fitting. Two the the three glass fixtures had hairline cracks in them. Two of the glass fixtures were a pale green while the other was clear. (They were supposed to each match.) We installed one unit, with appropriate 60W bulbs. Within 10 minutes, a pop was heard. One of the hairline fractures had turned into a four-inch crack. We were lucky the glass didn't shatter completely across the vanity. We called to return the products. They wanted us to pay a restocking fee and shipping. We were able to talk this company into paying for shipping. But a restocking fee? The product is garbage. It should be thrown away. I will never do business with Shades of Light again. They are not to be trusted.

Keep an eye on these guys. We bought lights 3 years ago and paid for them. Just received an email saying we were being charged $700. again. Maybe just a mistake as they claim. Be careful.

Had an erroneous charge for a lamp that I did not order. Tried to reach out to customer service via email and phone. Phone is busy and no response from emails.

Terrible company to deal with. High shipping fees and high return fees. Also when site says “in stock” that does not mean what you think it means. In our first and last purchase with this company all items were “in stock” but we then received 3 separate boxes over a week and a half period. Each shipment said the other items were on back order. I hope someone reads this and avoids this company.

The item arrived, but did not work, so I returned immediately. It took over a month for them to process my refund and when finally processed they did not refund me the full amount I paid. I would not order from Shades of Light again.

I purchased a silver tone classic cut corner mirror from Shades of Light. It was a piece of garbage. The frame was plastic and the finish came off immediately when handled. I ended up having my painter repaint the frame. I would have sent it back but the size was included in the plan for my bathroom remodel.
