Shelly with CIH Design brings an international aesthetic to all of her work. She certainly elevated the Hawaiian vibe of our new home while under construction. Shelly made all of the surface selections, created one of a kind photo realistic renderings of all of our significant areas and provided guidance through the entire process. We highly recommend her design company and services.

We recently moved and needed the help of a designer to make our home, with some funky spaces, alive and welcoming. Shelly seemed like the perfect fit for us. Having ‘nearly’ finished our project with Shelly here are our observations: Pricing: The pricing was confusing from the start. I was quoted one price verbally in our initial call, then the statement of work had another cost. We paid just over $10K for design services, then another $50K for furniture. Shelly tells you shipping is paid by her, however, shipping is only covered to the warehouse and then we paid storage and for white glove delivery. We didn’t have visibility into the cost of items (only what Shelly told us the cost was) and nor were we able to pay by credit card (only cash) so if something went wrong, we had no recourse with the bank. Additionally, Shelly gets a cut from the furniture we buy so here is an incentive for her to recommend very expensive items. Communication: There were so many things we learned the hard way and having been through this experience, we will be way more informed if we decide to partner with a designer again. Our meetings with Shelly were always rushed. One time Shelly scheduled a meeting with us, and we waited for several hours and she just didn’t turn up. All-in-all, I think Shelly has an amazing flair for decorating spaces and I think she is a super nice woman. But her communication skills and ability to fully communicate the project timelines, how the design process works and generally partner with us is extremely lacking. Be prepared to spend a great deal of money (maybe that goes without saying) and if you don’t buy everything Shelly recommends (and presumably make her $$$$ more), be prepared to fend for your yourself. We had 80% of our furniture delivered a couple of weeks ago and we have a rug that isn’t the right shade, a broken lamp, a side table and pillows we didn’t order and when we reach out to Shelly it’s just crickets. Please send your thoughts and prayers we get the rest of the furniture we paid for. :)

Shelly is simply the best. Cannot recommend her enough! Her designs transformed my space and she is a delight to communicate with.

I have worked directly with Shelly at CIH Design on 2 projects remotely over the past year. She designed a high end penthouse condo for me in NY and her photo realistic renderings were spot on with the vibe of the place. The finished installation looked just like the renderings, only better. My modern Honolulu condo is equally magnificent,, yet suitable for the Hawaiian climate. She was responsive and a pleasure to work with. The process from design planning to installation was seamless.

Shelly’s ability to capture and create innovative spaces is amazing, as her designs brings life into all rooms. Shelly has a unique ability to captivate spaces. Her warmth and professionalism exceeds expectations of client needs and is simply a pleasure to work with.

Shelly David from CIH is a visionary. Upon our first meeting she was able to translate my vision into something unbelievably grand with scrupulous detail. Her energy is infectious and did not waver. The entire design process was done with ease and near seamless. The burden was light with immaculate results. With an eye for quality furnishings and design I now enjoy a condo note worthy of Architectural Digest.

Fantastic I called Shelley and said ,I want my new condo ready in 6 weeks ! Soup to nuts ! Wow is all we can say ,our oceanfront condo is totally decorated and looks fantastic ! I highly recommend her company!!!

Shelly did an amazing job creating the perfect lake cottage. She stayed true to the lake feel while making the cottage conducive to our lifestyle. We could not be more pleased with the outcome!

Shelly's creativity really came through for our modern design project. She was conscious of our budget while sourcing some of the most unique pieces for our home from around the world. We hired CIH for the update of our residential complex. Their designs we innovative and fresh. The project was completed on time and within budget. All were pleased with the finished project. Highly recommended.

Shelly selected the furnishings and finishes for most of my home. I love her aesthetic and everything looks really, really wonderful. The practicality of the fabrics and the design is an issue and it took quite a bit of time to get everything completed but the end result is the happy, colorful home of my dreams.
