About Us

HOMEROOM, formerly ModHomeEc is a fully dedicated upholstery, sewing, and home furnishing educational studio and maker space. We offer live and online upholstery classes and workshops and are opening our online Power Tool School for Women in September. Since Shop Class wasn't an option for girls, we created our own adult version. We teach hobbyists, interior design professionals, and shop owners how to create unique and high style home furnishings with their own two hands. Really loved the step by step DIY project of Building an Ottoman out of a Shipping Pallet! I immediately felt I could do this by the instructions Shelly provided, so I went out and found pallets that were donated to me and began my experiment of building my first ottoman! I chose an idea of my own for fabric, legs, etc......and the response has been incredible! I am now building these and selling them and have also been asked to re-upholster furniture for people who have been referred to me! Thank you Shelly for your idea and your inspiration!!
