Spark Hut - Metal Art Design Build

Pete is awesome. He is creative, inspiring and polite. A great listener. I have worked with Pete on numerous projects and look forward to more.

Spark Hut and principal steel artist, Pete Christensen, have completed a number of projects for my landscape company. The projects have included Cor-ten steel planters, a custom metal and glass hood for the top of a stone light column, and a powder-coated steel fountain for a Japanese fountain. Pete has always delivered the finished product on time and been really receptive to new ideas and has great ideas of his own. I look forward to many more projects with Pete. Great guy to work with. Pete listened carefully to my brainstorming, took my random ideas and created a design that was more than I had imagined. He was precise and careful in his work (you can't be in a hurry!) and the railing turned out to be amazing. It is the centerpiece of our home and everybody that visits raves about how unique and personal it is. I would definitely hire him again!

The sculptural artwork of Pete Christensen is transformative through scale, material, and intent. Initial observation shows a larger-than-life representation of a Stone Fly (a common pattern used in fly fishing). Pete has transformed what is normally intimate (about an inch long, made of feathers and thread) into an impressive table-top piece made of welded steel and soldered copper. The fly-tiers intention is to abstract nature (various food sources of fishes) in order to attract and catch fish. Pete's intention is the gift of access for his viewer - to show us the form and construction of a fly and allow us to behold its beauty and transfiguration. Just a beautiful piece indeed!

I work for a landscape design/build company as a landscape designer and have worked with Pete in a professional capacity prior to collaborating with him on my own project (a stacked stone light with corten cap). Pete was great to work with. He listened to what I wanted and took a thoughtful approach to develop the perfect design solution for the piece. I would recommend Spark Hut to anyone looking for a unique, personalized piece.
