We couldn’t be happier with our choice of Spartan to build our lake house. As a matter of fact, this is the third home Spartan has built for our family over the years at Lake Anna. From beginning to end, Spartan was with us every step of the way. Their customer service is amazing! They get back to any questions, big or small right away. Even after closing, they continue to be available for questions and help. They stand by the homes they build and have an excellent reputation in the area, of honesty and integrity. The home building software they use is a game changer which makes communication with the entire building team and contractors effortless. It keeps the homeowner up to date on the building process, pricing, permitting, etc. and keeps everyone in the loop, which is important especially when living a distance away. We also appreciate how energy efficient our home is and the energy savings we have seen in all our Spartan homes. There are no hidden costs in the building process, which we really appreciate. Spartan’s standard finishes are very high end to begin with. They are honest about the building process, costs, and timelines and that is something we really value. With such a big investment, we always know that we can trust Spartan to do what they say and say what they do! Another important thing to note is that Spartan is a true custom home builder. We have always appreciated being able to pick all our finishes, even including homemade barn doors, fireplace shelving/mantle/stone/cabinetry, lighting fixtures, shiplap details, vanities, windows, flooring, mirrors and much more! Being a fully customized home is important to us and Spartan takes pride in implementing all these details which is what makes a house a home! We love that throughout the building process, with so many contractors involved, there is hardly any pause in the construction process. Contractors show up on time and do an excellent job and keep the job site clean. The Spartan team is on top of everything, always! They are constantly at the work site and making sure everything is running seamlessly.With Spartan the process is stress-free because we know they are handling everything. My husband and I built a custom home at Lake Anna, VA with Spartan Homes and we were not disappointed. Spartan Homes' quality, attention to detail, and customer service was unparalleled. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for quality built home at a competitive price.

The entire Spartan Homes team is amazing. My wife and I had never built a custom home and were extremely worried about all of the decisions we were going to have to make during the building process. From the first meetings all the way through the closing process, Spartan was professional and made the experience very enjoyable. We began the home building process by selecting our own house plan and narrowing our selection of home builders down to 4. Spartan clearly stood out as the best choice when comparing price and quality. We worked with Ed (who has since passed) on the initial home design and would call almost daily with changes. Ed ensured that the changes we were requesting were going to work with our plan. When we started the actual building process, we met Eric and were immediately impressed. Eric introduced us to Megan and Krista who walked us through in great detail on how the rest of the building process would work. Megan began the steps of having us pick out some of our selections and gave us access to their construction application. We left that first meeting breathing a sigh of relief and excited about how our home would turn out. Throughout the next several months as the home was being built, Eric and the rest of the team communicated updates and statuses much more regularly than I had expected. Rarely did a question go more than a few hours without a reply. Using their construction application, Eric would regularly post pictures of the progress of the house. Since we lived over 90 minutes away, the pictures kept us fully in the loop on how the house was progressing. A few weeks into the building process we started meeting with vendors (electrical, cabinets, flooring, concrete, counter-tops, etc.). The electrician and cabinet vendors had some of the most difficult jobs based on what we wanted in the house. The electrician enthusiastically worked with us to design and install a custom audio, video, and networking solution. The cabinet vendor met with us several times and took all our changes in stride while providing expert recommendations for every question we had. They were both a pleasure to work with and a valuable part of the Spartan family. As the house was nearing completion we were introduced to Matthew and Bryan who made sure the final details of the house were 100% perfect. I always thought I was someone who paid attention to detail but Matthew and Bryan went well beyond my expectations. During the final walk-through, Eric, Matthew, and Bryan provided us with a binder of all our home “papers” and walked us through the entire home to go over every little detail until we were comfortable. A week after we closed on the home, our lawn maintenance company broke a sliding glass door in the basement and Spartan worked with the installer to make sure the door was ordered and installed correctly. They really do care about their customers even "after the sale". We would highly recommend using Spartan Homes to build your dream home.

Spartan Homes is an Exceptional Home builder and I cannot recommend them enough! We built our future retirement home at Lake Anna with them and they made the whole process run as smoothly as possible from the time that we first met with them to the time that the home was completed. We had met with some other builders and had visited some of their "Model Homes" and I was not at all impressed with the quality of their craftsmanship. When we visited the Spartan Homes office/Model Home, you could just see the extra attention to detail that they had given in the construction of the home, the drywall finishing and the trim details. In meeting and talking with them, it became obvious that they were passionate about what they do, and that they were more interested in being proud of what they build and building relationships with customers than they were about making every possible nickel that they can on every project. We went and saw a home model that they had built that was very similar to the one that we were considering, and the craftsmanship and quality that we saw on that home was just as great as their office/model home. Those owners also couldn't say enough good things to us about Spartan! We requested many changes along the way, and were always provided their professional insight and recommendations as well as very fair and reasonable pricing. It is not often that you can find a company that you can TRUST is going to treat you fairly and will go the extra mile to make sure that they meet and exceed your requirements and expectations. Spartan is that kind of company! They provide exceptional quality and are a customer focused company and they have assembled a team of employees and subcontractors that operate with the same values. When we have talked to neighbors and other people throughout the community, we have never heard a single negative comment from ANYONE about Spartan Homes. How many contractors do you think that you can say THAT about?!? We would absolutely recommend them to anyone and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again in the future!

It's difficult to express the quality, dedication and expertise of Spartan! From the first time I met with Ed to the final walkthrough I felt well cared for and important. My new house is more than I ever dreamed of and it is without any hesitation that I would highly recommend Eric, Ed and the entire Spartan team. Enlisted the services of quality stone masons. Followed up on final details through completion. Communications lines were always open and responsive. I am thankful for their great work and will look to them again for future needs.

Spartan built an amazing house that was designed by my daughter. From start to finish, Spartan completed the job on time as agreed to in the initial contract. Every contractor involved were true experts in their field and our house is the direct result of their work. We are extremely pleased and would reconmend them to anyone building or remodeling there home.

I have a problem finding all the great things I could say about Eric Henry, Ed Cofsky, and all the folks I have worked with at Spartan Homes, Inc. This was a design-build effort and a first for me so I was very nervous about getting everything just right. From the beginning to the completion of the house, the Spartan team guided me through all the options and I could not be more pleased with the result. Eric and Ed are fair, professional, and responsive. We have been so impressed with our home that we are now in the process of designing a sunroom addition and adding another two-car garage. I have no doubt we will be equally impressed with the result. What began as a weekend and vacation home will now become our full-time residence. I have built and bought several new homes in the past but I have never had a better experience with a builder! These guys are great! I recommend Spartan Homes, Inc. in the strongest terms possible.

From the very beginning, it was evident that we selected the right company to build our retirement home. The management team was personable and receptive, easy to contact, and always kept us informed on the status of the project. We worked closely with Spartan to select the just the right floor plan for our property and make modifications to the plan as we wanted. The up-front costs for the construction were accurate, and the timeline from start to finish was on target. The workmanship by all members of the construction team was first rate. The quality control measures provided by the site supervisor and genuine care shown by the company during the entire process were excellent. They really went out of way to build our home our way and not their way. Even after taking ownership of the home, they quickly responded to our questions or to make minor adjustments. Spartan Homes is definitely a home builder I recommend and would use again.

We used Spartan Homes for three projects. (1) a complete kitchen remodel, (2) the addition of a large room to our house and (3) the remodeling of our garage to include adding a second level apartment. All three projects were characterized by professionalism, great communication between all parties, hands on management and supervision by Mr. Henry. All three projects ended on time, came in at or slightly under budget. Over the course of the two years following completion of the projects, Spartan has followed up responsively to any minor fixes to the finished projects. Having done similar projects at our past homes and at our current home in Maryland, dealing with Spartan was extremely positive and has far eclipsed our experiences with other contractors. In short, Spartan has set a high bar for anyone contractor trying to compete with Spartan's product, professionalism and customer service. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for the best in quality, price and service.
