The Stair Repair, LLC is family owned and based in Southbury, CT. We have 25 years of experience providing exceptional carpentry services throughout Connecticut. We not only specialize in custom stair and railing installations and repairs, but provide a full range of carpentry and building services both large and small. Mike did an outstanding job with this small project. He arrived on time, answered EVERY question, and even let me set my own price! I would most definitely hire him again and recommend him to anyone looking for a competent professional.

Mike was incredible to deal with. He was very professional and communicative. He was prompt in sending a quote with two options for our job, one less expensive than the other. Arrived on time, worked quickly and left my home spotless. I would call on him again without hesitation. Highly recommend!

My project turned out great. We discusses what we wanted, they drew up some sketches. I was able to choose what wood was to be used and what color stain I wanted. Now I have a beautiful piece of custom furniture for my family room. Great experience. I will definitely use The Stair Repair Company again.

I am very happy to have found Mike through Houzz. He's highly responsive (!!) and a great carpenter. He removed old fashioned knee walls from our front stairs and installed new railings on both sides. He also installed new tile in our entry. He's extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. He uses high quality materials. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again & recommend to others.

We needed to overhaul the entry area of our raised ranch by replacing and updating the banisters. Michael did a great job and we are thrilled with the result of his work. Not only is his carpentry work high quality, but he made suggestions that gave the new entry the clean, contemporary look we were hoping for. The work was also done quickly and communication with Michael was easy. I highly recommend stair repair.

Mike is a great carpenter who does beautiful work! We hired Mike to remove and replace the stair rails, posts and balusters on our staircase. From the very being of the project Mike was extremely helpful with the ordering of materials and answering all of our questions about the project. Unlike most carpenters, Mike always made himself available via email, phone or text before, during and after the project. MIke had extensive knowledge of refitting the staircase and we are very glad we were able to find such a skillful carpenter. We look forward to working with Mike on future projects and would highly recommend him for a project you are considering.

After months of searching for the right person we found Michael through Houzze. He is an extremely knowledgable, creative, and professional carpenter. We had previous design work done by a very reputable design firm and he discovered numerous mistakes in their dimensions. It would have been an incredible disaster had he not found their errors. He also came up with some wonderful suggestions in the design of the bannister and newel post. Our wine storage unit is a tribute to his talent. I hired Michael to rebuild my backyard deck which was in need of a lot of repair. He suggested we re-utilize the wood that was in good shape in combination with new wood and railings to keep costs under control. I now have a beautiful deck that looks like new. He was very professional and knowledgeable and completed the project as promised and within budget. He also was very careful to clean up the worksite (especially nails) when he was done. I would recommend Michael to anyone who needs home repair or is considering home construction.

I needed a solution for corralling and organizing my family's shoes, jackets, hats and more in our mudroom. When exploring solutions from box stores or online, the quality and materials used were sub par and didn't fit our space. That's when we contracted The Stair Repair to build a custom built-in suited to our direct needs. The finished product was stunning and the quality of craftsmanship was remarkable. I highly recommend this professional and will continue to contract additional work with him in the future!
