We worked with Stephen on two back yard updates. The first was a big change with hardscape, turf and other landscaping changes. The second (years later) was the addition of a hot tub and decking along with landscape updates. He's easy to work with and we were pleased with his ideas on space utilization and plants. His team is also easy to work with and trustworthy.

He has the talent and the patience to be the rare partner homeowners seek throughout the process and only rarely find. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Stephen in several capacities. We hired Gabor + Allen for landscape lighting. In the planning phase, Stephen Gabor listened carefully to our goals, helped us to refine our goals, and then devised a creative and comprehensive design plan that not only checked all the boxes but made us even more excited about the project. The execution of the plan was fabulous, including the minor tweaks after installation to get it just right. Our property was greatly enhanced as a result!

I am a real estate agent and have successfully referred Gabor + Allen to a few clients. They are thoughtful in their designs and execution. They deliver exactly what they say they are going to do. They are not the cheapest but I have learned over and over again that eventually you will pay for the work you are having done. Either have it done the right way the first time or have it fixed. I would highly recommend them to just get what you want the first time. They are money well spent and will only increase the value of your home no matter what you are doing to it. Having a good Landcape architect and architect is one of the best things I could have and I’m so happy to refer them to all my clients.

We hired Stephen to help us upgrade our back yard. The new pergola and BBQ his team put in really made the space come together. He also had EXCELLENT landscaping advice and I liked his crew very much. Stephen is great, a true professional with a great eye.

It went so well the first time, we are at it again! On a friend's recommendation, we sought out G+A for our main guest bathroom and master bedroom closet remodels. Stephen Gabor was hands on from design to finish and we actually enjoyed it! OK, maybe not the chaos of actual construction but the people (from Stephen down to every one on his crew) were nice, hardworking professionals who not only did a great job, but were careful and sweet with our 16year old dog that kept getting in their way. =) The surprise of majorly damaged walls and old pipes that needed to be completely redone added to the timeline but when it was all said and done, we could not have been happier. So we are now doing our master bathroom and the last guest bathroom with G+A and their crew!

My business partner and I hired Gabor + Allen to redesign our office space that we did not want to leave but were outgrowing. The space itself was oddly shaped and difficult to furnish. We struggled to fit our growing numbers while maintaining a sense of style. Gabor + Allen see things differently and quickly envisioned a more efficient use of space without being overcrowded. Their plan also offered many creative nuances to give our space a contemporary look while maintaining a productive flow. We gave them the reigns to execute their plan and we were quite impressed with how the new design gave our office an exciting and new life. Everybody has been delighted with the results and it is always a joy to walk into our office each day.

My husband and I engaged Gabor + Allen to transform our 3bed/2 bath home into a 5 bed/5 bath home. We were on a tight timeline and had a tight budget as well. We live in the hillside district, within the Mulholland Corridor and are on a septic system, so designing a new space, on a budget that managed to not require any variances or special approvals while still giving us the additional space we needed was no small feat! Patrick & Stephen came up with several preliminary floor plans and helped guide us through our design process. They skillfully navigated city approvals and provided us with a plan that we love -without requiring a single exemption from the city! As we went through construction, G+A stayed involved - spending hours at our home working with our GC to ensure that the final product is first rate. Stephen has provided great guidance on finishes and vision. Upon completion, G+A did a final walk through with us to make sure every detail was addressed. We are now living in our house and every day my husband and I comment on how awesome the new space is. We said we wanted more storage space - we've literally moved 2/3 of our garage storage into the house & still have 2 nearly empty closets! Our house is only 2700 sf and every bedroom is plenty big - you have to see it to believe it. The design transformed our home and the finishes that G+A helped us with are so cool! We got the modern aesthetic we wanted - used some pretty fashion-forward designs and ended up with a house like I never thought we'd have. We're so happy! They are awesome!! If we had it all to do again, we would use them for sure and we highly recommend their work!! I'll post some pictures as soon as I clean up a bit and finish up the yard!

We recently worked with designer Stephen Gabor of Gabor + Allen on our renovation. Stephen was extremely helpful in guiding us on the most efficient use of space, as well as providing options for attractive and cost effective materials. Key design elements included storage modules, flooring, doors and windows, ventilation, and lighting. Stephen’s work was extremely professional, on budget and on schedule. Both he and his team were such a pleasure to work with. He also was a huge help in pulling everything together. Our teens are enjoying the space and we couldn’t be happier!
