We'd been procrastinating our much-needed kitchen remodel for so long the cabinet doors were falling off (see "before" picture). The process seemed so overwhelming and the list of decisions so long we didn't know where to start. Fortunately for us, we made the right decision first, and that was to work with Steve and Taylor & Stevens Cabinetry. Steve and his team completely transformed our space into a beautiful and more functional kitchen that suits our style and our 100 year old home. He patiently guided us through the whole process and all the decisions along the way from cabinet style to flooring to finishes, managed a group of great sub-contractors, and did excellent carpentry and trim work himself. The cabinet line he uses (Shiloh) is very nice and offers some unique features not found elsewhere. His communication is top-notch, both proactively and with how quickly he responded to our questions. We're thrilled with our new kitchen and would highly recommend Steve and Taylor & Stevens to anyone looking to remodel their home.

My wife and I had our 38-year-old kitchen renovated this fall, a complete rip and replace. Based on a glowing recommendation from my wife's colleague who was in the process of renovating his kitchen and bathroom with Taylor and Stevens Cabinetry, we hired Steve Jackson. And we are beyond thrilled with our decision. We had heard so many horror stories about kitchen contractors- shoddy work, terrible communication, overcharging, etc.- we went into the process with trepidation. But from our initial visit with Steve at our home, we felt confident out of the gate that he was a consummate and trustworthy professional. After a couple of visits to his showroom discussing budget/scope, pouring through materials, seeing multiple digital renderings, talking timeline, etc., we knew we would hire Steve but just couldn't commit to when. Steve was understanding, never pushy, sensitive to our concerns about making such a large investment and was always available to answer any questions we had- and we had many. He stressed his commitment to maintaining a tight schedule throughout the process and being communicative and transparent about timing and expectations, not an easy thing in that business given the multiple vendors and crews involved. Each and every contractor he works with- demo, flooring, tile, electrical, plumbing, painting, and Steve himself with the cabinetry- were top notch. Steve's operation is a well-oiled machine, and we were extremely pleased with the work at every step of the way. Steve is more than a craftsman; he has artistic vision and made so many suggestions based on his many years plying his trade but never pressured us make any choices we weren't fully invested in. We did leverage a great deal of his guidance and are so glad we did. The finished product is truly transformational, exceeded our expectations in every way. Having someone in your home for so long with such disruption, it helped immensely that we truly enjoyed Steve as a person beyond his obvious talents. We laughed often as we tried to navigate and maintain some semblance of normalcy amidst the inherent chaos- he always allayed our concerns and set us at ease. We honestly can't recommend Steve and his team enough. If you're thinking about renovating your kitchen, do yourself a favor and have an initial meeting with Steve. Don't be surprised if a couple of months later, you're writing a review just like this!

We had a custom kitchen and main bathroom completely renovated and are beyond thrilled with the results! Steve was easy to work with, gave us great ideas we hadn’t even thought of, was extremely communicative, and brought in great specialists when needed to complete all aspects of the project! We already referred him to a friend whose project begins next month!

We bid out our total Kitchen remodel with 7 different contractors. Each had their own good points, but Steven checked all the boxes. He was incredibly patient when we explored different configurations and made numerous changes to the scope of work. He never hurried us through a decision and provided incredible guidance based on his extensive experience. We have been through numerous renovations, and we were used to being "surprised" by the end of the job change orders. Not so with Steven. We were surprised by the lack of change orders. Anything requiring an add was immediately documented and authorized. No surprises. Steven and his subcontractors were respectful of our time. They showed up when they said they would, they left the jobsite clean and disposed of all their trash each day. They even found special ways to remove dust without having open doors (I'm allergic to bees). Bottom line, we got the kitchen of our dreams, at a fair price and on time. We whole-heartedly recommend Taylor and Stevens for any remodel project. We will gladly use him for any additional work.

Steve did a fantastic job on our complete kitchen remodel. We went from a small, old & poorly-functioning kitchen to a new and beautiful very well-functioning kitchen expanded into our dining room. Steve was great to work with and a really nice guy (our kids love him)! We always felt at ease having him in our home every day. We completely gutted our kitchen and started fresh and we’re very happy with the result. Steve has great relationships with his subcontractors which made communication very easy. He also kept us up to date on any changes to the timeline or unforeseen issues which only added to maintaining a very comfortable relationship.

We renovated our 1920’s era brownstone condo kitchen and bathroom. Also, we added a laundry and converted the dining room to a library. Completing this project during COVID was a huge challenge with supply chain issues and the renovation boom. This was our first renovation and we talked to 12+ contractors before choosing Steve. Steve stood out as a person we could trust and we appreciated his ongoing communication not only during the pre-contract phase but all the way through the project. He was ALWAYS responsive to every text, email, and phone call, and really responded immediately to all of our questions. Steve was super helpful in helping us design the cabinetry layout to maximize storage and accommodate custom ideas like the structure required to support the rolling ladder and fit a washer dryer in the condo (a first in our building). Also, all of my friends had long delays with their renovation projects, but Steve was able to complete our project on time!

Steve completed a multi stage project and I’m very pleased with the results. He was fair and communicative. We had some usual bumps; supply, waiting on contractors. After extensive research and communication with local contractors, Taylor and Stevens was my top choice for all the cabinetry in my new home build. The pricing was very fair, and Shiloh offered quality cabinets with a wide variety of colors and custom features that I was very pleased with. They are talented designers, and we worked wonderfully together as a team to design the kitchen of my dreams in my new home. When deciding to renovate the first floor of our 1882 Portsmouth home, we knew there would be some unforeseen issues once the project began; there are always issues with an old home! Once we realized how many challenges there actually were, we were thankful that we had chosen to partner with Taylor & Stevens on this project. Steve Jackson tackled each obstacle – not just with the knowledge and expertise one would expect from an experienced contractor – but with a true eye for craftsmanship. After removing over five layers of flooring and three layers of ceiling (over 4 tons of debris!), Steve thoughtfully repaired and replaced the structure of our home so that it was safe. Then he began to flesh out our vision. He provided valuable input and guided us through each detail. He connected us with many knowledgeable consultants in the industry -from countertops to tile coordination – that we felt more confident in our design decisions. And whenever we weren't sure, we'd just ask ourselves, "what would Steve do?" - and then we'd do that! Steve’s eye for detail and finish work carpentry took our plan and made it something truly special. We are so happy with our new-old home and know that it’s because of Steve. Steve is an absolute professional and a pleasure to work with. His communication is the best that I've ever come across. Steve is very clear about the work that needs to be done and the costs. There were no surprises (aside from the ones that come with fixing up an old house) and he always follows through. He built me a new deck, completely redid the kitchen and two bathrooms. The work is beautiful and high quality. Steve understood my vision and even made suggestions that improved the project while keeping the character of the house intact.

We completely remodeled our kitchen. The vinyl floor in our kitchen and family room was replaced with prefinished oak flooring. All the kitchen cabinets were replaced and an island added. Fantasy brown granite was used for the island top and black pearl granite for the counter tops and backsplash. We had extra fantasy brown granite so we used it to replace the upstairs bathroom counter, an added project. The house electrical system was upgraded as was some of the plumbing. When we started, Steve Jackson, the main contractor, gave us an excellent rendering of what the new kitchen would look like. He listened well to what we wanted and suggested some great things that we had not thought of. He was very careful to do things right and accurately. The project was completed in a timely manner and on budget. The sub-contractors he used were excellent. Everyone was easy to work with. We recommend Steve highly.

Steve was great to work with right from the start of the process all the way through to the end. We are very happy with the outcome of the project; building a sun room addition with poured foundation and a large deck. Communication was easy, and all changes to the plans were handled with great skill.

We hired Taylor And Stevens Cabinetry to renovate our kitchen as well as open up our living room,dining room and kitchen area from 3 separate rooms to an open concept living area with a gourmet kitchen. Working with Steve from project design through completion was a true pleasure as he took as much time as we needed to ensure that we had everything we wanted and offered his professional opinion along the way. We went from demo of the majority of our living area to a functioning kitchen in a matter of 5 weeks and quality of work is top notch. With 2 young kids Steve prioritized getting us to a functioning state. Every single contractor that came into our home offered very professional workmanship and left the workspace clean each day. Steve hires the best of the best contractors and we had full trust in all of them to leave them in our home. We are beyond pleased with our final product and will only use Steve for future renovations as in addition to quality of work they stand behind the work when small issues arose even a year later Steve had someone out instantly to make minor adjustments. We've been working with Steve Jackson for a few years now on various home improvement projects. Our first project was 3 years ago and it called for the installation of hardwood flooring, cabinetry and granite counter tops to our kitchen, dining and family rooms. Just lately we decided to upgrade to hardwood flooring for 3 of our 4 bedrooms and upstairs landing areas. So we called on Steve once again to add value to our home. I must say Steve does a tremendous job and pays close attention to detail. He adds value to each project by suggesting placement of materials in a certain way that makes each room look like it should, almost out of a magazine - just what you want it to look like. His time on the job is wisely spent and projects are completed on time. Refrigerator doors open without knocking into other items in the kitchen, traffic flow is unimpeded. Steve only uses quality materials. He has connections to valued licensed electricians and plumbers. His pricing is competitive to other local area contractors.

Taylor and Stevens reconfigured and reconstructed my kitchen but also built an addition for a laundry room, renovated existing spaces and extensively reconstructed my 200-year old home to modernize it, reinforce it and make it safer. Every step of the way from planning and design to choosing materials, foundation, building, managing subcontractors and even customized woodwork, Steve and his team was excellent! What a gorgeous kitchen we got with a custom-constructed island, amazing cabinets and new, beautiful spaces. Being in our house over several months (it was an extensive project), Steve and his team were professional, personable and cleaned up every day even while spaces were in transition. We were very happy every step of the way. What a great experience! We would (and will) have Taylor and Stevens do more work in our house again and again. I hired Steve Jackson to replace a kitchen of a house we bought is Salem 4 years ago. The new kitchen is the nicest room in our house. The design and the product were both top rate. I would highly recommend him for any kitchen or bath project. We are building a new house and now will be using him for our 3rd house project.. that says volumes for a Steve and his company.

I had Steve help me in an emergency after my home was broken into. He came out right away and did a quick temporary fix to secure the door and came back within the week to completely replace the door and frame. We was able to finish the remove and replace of the door unit in a single visit. He also did a major addition on my house in 2001 ,>$100k. That was also an excellent job well-done! Steve helped me in many decisions in totally remodeling my kitchen.
