Taormina Custom Homes is hands down the best builder in the Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania area. We have friends with horror stories about their building experience after using other builders and we feel so fortunate to have had a fantastic experience, start-to-finish, with Taormina Custom Homes. To begin, they were very responsive and patient with every call and request my wife and I had, and they would meet with us regularly at the job site to answer questions and show progress. There was full transparency regarding our contract, work status and completion, delays were minimized, and we were notified well in advance, and in our COVID-world we always felt in the loop when supplies and subs were affected. The quality of their work is truly second to none. They far exceeded each of our expectations and made numerous custom ceiling finishes happen on the fly and it turned out beautifully. Nick made the entire process of selecting custom lighting, plumbing, trim, appliance, etc, etc finishes very easy for us, and Tony has a keen eye to ensure the work is completed to his high standard. He noticed that a finish piece on the gas fireplace blower did not open easily and had it replaced before we noticed (that’s one of 1,000 examples). We truly purchased a custom home and feel blessed to have had zero headaches, all thanks to Taormina Custom Homes. I would highly recommend this builder to anyone. We selected house plans and purchased raw land years before we were ready to start building. I researched A LOT and knew to expect stress and surprises when building a custom home. Once we were ready, we met with a few of the the big builders around here but I wasn’t impressed with the quality for the price. Taormina Homes was referred to us and when I walked through a home they were constructing, I knew instantly it was what we were looking for. I really enjoyed the construction process and being able to work with the entire Taormina family. They kept us up-to-date, often daily, and there weren’t surprises or variables that completely caught us off guard. Nick was patient with me constantly changing up my tile and lighting selections but also gave sound advice on many things throughout our build. I really loved being able to have a say on all the design choices and our home turned out so much better than I ever dreamed. My father is a custom builder in another state and when he visited halfway through our construction, he commented on the great craftsmanship and cleanliness of our job site which are two of the highest forms of compliment in the industry. A lender told us years ago, building a custom home is not for the faint of heart. Knowing that, the most important part for us was finding a builder we could trust, and who would help us get the best quality and design for our budget and Taormina Homes was exactly that: ethical, knowledgeable, honest, flexible.
