From Day One Tyler was on the same page as we were—he was such a pleasure to work with! We knew we wanted a local builder because we live far away and are not in Maine in the winter. Tyler had built a beautiful house down the road from us so he was our first call. He worked with us on several plan options and was ready to jump in when we finally made up our minds to go ahead with the project. The cost and the schedule were clear and he tracked everything all the way through. Texting and photos made things easy, with just a few on-site check-ins from us during the off season. His subs were fantastic and the job site was always neat as a pin (all of our neighbors commented on this). We really like where the house is sited and everything about it is just what we were hoping for.

It took us awhile to pull the trigger and do a complete tear down and rebuild of our lake house. Lake Living Consultants (Tyler) was patient, informative, and great to work with. His easy going nature, knowledge of waterfront building, and tremendous crews (sub-contractors and vendors) made the process easier than we expected. These are the cleanest crews ever! They were professional and respectful of the property. The end result far exceeds our expectations. We look forward to making many more memories on the lake.

Tyler and Scott (Lake Living Consultants) did a great job for us during the renovation of our lake home. They are knowledgeable regarding shoreline building codes and worked well with the local CEO to obtain permitting and allow our project to proceed to completion. We hired Lake Living Consultants to add a second story to a camp that we had recently purchased. During the demolition process we discovered numerous structural problems with the 1st floor that needed to be addressed before we could continue with the addition. Because of the numerus structural issues we decided to knock the entire camp down and start from the ground up. Tylers knowledge of the building codes especially around lake front property was invaluable, we hired him for a renovation project and he ended up building a new house. He has great a list of contacts for sub contractors and suppliers which made our project move forward very smoothly. If you are looking to renovate or build you will not be disappointed with Lake Living consultants, especially any work by the water.

I chose Lake Living Consultants for our new construction build on Great East Lake in Acton Maine and couldn't be happier with the results. Tyler and his skilled contractors turned our dream into reality. He helped us navigate the obstacles of building close to the water (which can be tricky with all the rules and regulations), and offered valuable insight on how to go about different aspects of the project. I met with some other builders in the area, and they had their own vision of what should be built. Tyler was different. He listened to what WE wanted, and gave his input along the way. He was also fine with me doing a lot of the work myself (electrical/radiant heat/vintage kitchen /appliances/etc.). He was upfront as far as typical budget overruns and did well sticking to the original quote. Overall his prices are fair. He kept me in the loop with any problems along the way, and was very easy to get ahold of throughout the project. I would not hesitate to use Lake Living Consultants again. We have done multiple projects with LLC, of varying sizes. The latest and largest performed in 2019 was retrimming, rehabbing and residing our house and three car garage. We were very pleased with the results.Tyler preformed on budget and in a timely manner. He supervised and scrutinized his subcontractors in a diligent manner. Building on a lake is a difficult process with permits and waterfront rules. Lake Living Consultants was a tremendous help from the beginning to the end. Throughout the building process Lake Living Consultants (Tyler Mathews) kept all the contractors on schedule. The contractors they used were professional and very helpful and we were pleased with the quality of their work. The final results were amazing, even. better then what we expected. We would highly recommend them for any project but especially any lake front project.

For the cost per hr., I would have expected more bang for my buck. The company did meet with code enforcement at times. I'm not sure for how long each time as the invoices I received are not broken down as to how much time was spent on each consult so how would one know if the total hr. stated on the invoice are true. The company does pretty will with back and forth communications, but I had to do a lot of research on my own to find the answers to code questions.

We hired Lake Living Consultants to remodel our kitchen, which needed a lot of work! We knew what we wanted to do, but really not sure of all of the choices to make and needed help guiding us through the process and to give us some options for what we wanted to get done. We were very lucky to have had Tyler Matthews to work with on our kitchen, he was super helpful with suggestions and options to help us make the right choices. He was so easy to work with and made sure everything went smoothly for us throughout our remodeling project. He did a fantastic job in putting our ideas into reality. Tyler and his dad Scott are the most professional and knowledgeable contractors we've ever met. They transformed the old family camp property into our dream retirement home (a few years early!) First and most important for me was Tyler's ability to understand that I had NO construction experience and only a small idea for a design to expand my camp (circa 1939). Two meetings with Tyler and we had a rough sketch. Groundwork began immediately. The initial frame construction was completed as promised. The final weeks kept pace with my requests. All the work was quality. The transformation was more than I imagined. Tyler is a professional who has dependable contractors, completing all projects on time.
