He listened to our thoughts and came up with a great design. In fact, at one point when we thought we had a close to final design, we had a change of heart and asked him to redesign a significant portion of the home (which he willingly accommodated). Home construction whether building or remodeling can be a very stressful and intimidating endeavor. There are so many choices to make from design to the final finishing touches. If you haven't yet, just look up how many shades or white paint there are. Now think about the wall texture, the flooring, windows, doors, trims, cabinets, landscaping, roofing, etc. And that is just the basics. You are about to make one of the largest and most important personal decisions of your life when you build a house. So once you have all of your building materials selected and your budget set you better have the design correct because COST AND VALUE are two completely different words, but you are about to realize both of them. I can not emphasize that enough. You need a contractor with experience and knowledge with your type of construction to control and accurately bid the costs. Not an easy task. Now for the most important part, the design. If you spent to much some how, maybe the wrong contractor, wrong finishing touches, or an unseen issue then usually time will correct or help the cost. You can change finishes if need be, but it is very difficult or dost prohibitive to change the design, room lay out, or room proportion. And if you didn't get the design lay out correct, the value won't be there for the cost expended. We had the opportunity to go through the building process with Hills Construction. We were relocating from three and a half hours away. I am happy to report that from start to completion both Paul and Adam were extremely helpful, trustworthy, and always available at a moments notice to answer questions and walk us through step by step of every stage. Couldn't be happier with our custom home built by Paul Hills Construction. This was our first time building and they made the entire process painless for us. From the design to picking out paint colors, they were there to help every step of the way. We are constantly complemented on our beautiful home. So much thought and time went into making sure every room flowed perfectly. We plan to be here for a long time but if we ever build again, we will absolutely be building another Paul Hills home.
