Heidi Caillier Design

Nice furniture. Very challenging process. We said we wanted to change our color scheme (green). She recommended the same color scheme anyway for our kitchen, living room, landing, and chair. We asked to course correct. She refused even though we had paid over $10K for the design. Attempted to stop working with us because there wasn’t a “fit” because we didn’t like what we said we didn’t like upfront. Same thing happened again later. She recommended an extremely dark paint for the entirety of our kitchen (the same thing she has in her own house in House Beautiful). However, we indicated a preference for more light. Again, she refused to work with us to change it. As a result, a number of the items she had recommended became irrelevant. She refused to help us update and did not develop any sort of transition plan, indicating “there is nothing wrong with your design.” As a result, our project was partially complete. Dining room and kitchen look largely the same as before.

Working with Heidi is a pleasure from start to finish. She is down to earth yet devoted to elevating your space to its highest heights. She has a delightful personality that adds a dose of fun to working with her. Heidi guided us through a kitchen and bathroom remodel of our Capitol Hill residence, as well as choosing furniture and furnishings throughout the house. Heidi managed to find properly scaled pieces to fill our smaller home, without overwhelming it. Thanks to Heidi, we now own furniture that fits our house perfectly as well as beautifully. She has a great eye for blending styles, new and vintage, and will not stop until she finds the “forever” piece. She managed to integrate all my vintage lamps into our design, updated with beautiful patterned shades - they have never looked so lovely! I found Heidi exceptionally helpful during the initial design phase of the project, where your head may be spinning from the many decisions, big and small. Taking time with the special little details is so important to the final satisfying result, and Heidi is on the same page with you all the way! I cannot recommend her highly enough. Grab her while you can.

I cannot recommend working with Heidi enough. She's extremely warm and funny and listens carefully to your actual needs. After meeting her and walking her through our home she immediately recognized all the issues we had with the awkward layout. We ended up going through two different designs due to some engineering work we had not anticipated, and though all the changes she was upbeat and was able to troubleshoot anything else out old home threw at us. Our remodel was finished a little over a month ago and I can say that all of our top wants were completely met as far as family and layout needs. Through the whole process Heidi responded quickly to any emails or texts we sent her and we always felt like she was there whenever we needed her help. Heidi not only re-designed the main part of our house, she also picked out all the furnishings. She is fantastic at giving you options at all price points which we really appreciated. Her design aesthetic was just what we were looking for since we wanted our home to be beautiful, but still look lived in. Everything from the cabinets, to the throw pillows all work so beautifully together. We are extremely happy with how everything turned out.

Heidi played a central role in our home renovation. She helped during conceptual design, suggesting wall and room layout changes that we went ahead with and are so happy we did in retrospect. Once we had a basic layout set, she developed detailed floor plans and elevations with material and fixtures notations. We did not stray much from that initial package she produced. While some pieces had to be dialed back due to budget constraints, we loved the palette and design she presented. Most importantly, Heidi was responsive, easy to communicate with, and it felt like she genuinely cared about us and our satisfaction. We brought Heidi in early to provide interior design and furniture selection guidance for our dream lake home in Sandpoint ID. She worked well with our architects and build team, noting our specific desires to create a modern farmhouse look while maintaining a comfortable, homey atmosphere for our young family. We are thrilled with the results and have been enjoying our home every second of every day! Highly recommended and we wouldn’t hesitate to use her services in the future.

Heidi is fantastic to work with. We tasked her with reimagining a large living room for us that was rarely used. Now we spend time there as often as we can. She made the room fresh, beautiful and functional for our family of five. Her use of paint and textiles brought the room to life. I appreciated her frequent communication and her coordination with the contractors. We wouldn't hesitate to call on Heidi for future projects.

Oh man, it's hard to express just how much I've enjoyed working with Heidi! I've worked with her on two projects now, one was an apartment in San Francisco, where she helped me tie things together and add accents, and another was an entire house. Heidi's sense of style is impeccable, but she truly listens to - and takes into account - your tastes, your lifestyle, and the environment around the property in order to choose the perfect style for each project. Somehow at the end of the day, you feel like you're the one with great style, but of course, she's been working her magic helping you get to the right decisions all along! Somehow she manages to create exactly what you were dreaming of but couldn't express from the beginning! I also love that Heidi incorporates a mixture of custom, vintage, and new pieces in a way that blends seamlessly and ensures that your house doesn't look too trendy. Everything ends up looking timeless, unique, and high quality. My husband refers to Heidi as my BFF rather than our designer, and I'm totally fine with that! I hope to work with her on any and all future projects!

Heidi is amazing to work with. She is professional, approachable, and incredibly organized. She is incredibly responsive, creative, and really understands how people live in their homes. We hired her for a full remodel (soft and hard finishes) and our house turned out way beyond our expectations. Heidi is a great listener and I trust her design/process completely. Would 100% hire her again- it was the best decision we made and we are so grateful we found her.

Heidi is a mind reader! We collaborated on some ideas for my renovation: clean and modern, but with touches of vintage and organic. I gave her some photos of the cabin my Norwegian grandparents had made and she integrated this too, into a warm and inviting house that felt like home the moment it was completed. I don't know how she did it, but she nailed it and manage the whole project efficiently and calmly. I can't recommend her highly enough!

We originally hired Heidi to help PM and design for our new home in Laurelhurst that needed some updating. She organized and ran with the entire project start to finish. Bringing us GCs to interview, subs and pointing out pros and cons of each. Then the design process with her was amazing. She helped simplify an overwhelming process of picking out paint colors, new fixtures and flooring in every room of the house. Once we hit the actual furniture phase of design it was a breeze. Design presentations were clear and well thought out. We completed stage 1 of our remodel in August of 2016. We are on stage 2 now a year later and still using Heidi's service from both the PM and design aspect for all the bathrooms in the house.

I have worked with Heidi now on two different homes and I am always amazed by her poise and ability to work with BOTH my spouse and I, who have different wants and needs around interior design. It is obvious to me that she works very hard for her clients and has consistently landed beyond my expectations. In addition to her amazing eye for detail and her incredible taste, she is also a pleasure to work with!

Heidi has been wonderful to work with. She is creative, flexible, responsive -- the qualities you want in a design professional. She designed certain rooms in our home entirely, while helping us supplement and improve other rooms with key pieces and other adjustments. Just about every room in our house has been improved by Heidi in some way. She's a terrific person, and of course she has great taste!
