Taking on major projects can feel daunting, but working with Trent was an entirely empowering experience with zero intimidation. Trent and his team handled a massive checklist for me, and the results are incredible: Full Kitchen Remodel: A complete transformation from the brand-new cabinets to the flawless granite countertops. The finished space is absolutely stunning. Interior Doors: They replaced the doors completely, including the entire frame, trim, and door for a perfect, seamless look. Repair Work: Fixed issues with my laminate flooring, replaced a warped support beam under my backyard porch awning, and did flawless drywall patching (including tricky spot repairs around an AC vent on a popcorn ceiling). The attention to detail across every single project was unmatched. I want to highly highlight Brendon—the pride he takes in his work is so evident, and his meticulous craftsmanship ensures that everything is truly flawless. Our experience with Sun West Construction was fantastic! Trent and his crew replaced our undermount double-basin kitchen sink with a more modern single-basin sink, along with installing a new faucet and garbage disposal. Trent took the time to carefully review all measurements to ensure the new sink would fit properly, then coordinated the timing of the plumber and granite contractor seamlessly. Everyone involved was prompt, kind, and professional, and the quality and efficiency of the work were exceptional. Trent’s communication throughout the project was consistent, clear, and timely. Sun West Construction was truly the best choice for our remodel of our kitchen and flooring. All of the crew were professional, capable and left the job site clean every day. Trent Mandeville, owner , is hands-on and supervised all the details until the very last day. Great rapport with his crew and the follow-thru could not be matched. We encountered major problems with our foundation before the project began and Trent was able to recommend the right company to manage the repairs and suggested solutions for prevention of future issues that could arise. Our kitchen is outstanding and Trent listened to what our needs and wants were and made sure that the vision we had was achieved.

Trent and team did an excellent job remodeling our kitchen. From helping with the initial planning, to total demo and clean up, to rebuilding a space that transformed the house, Trent was a reliable and trustworthy resource. Sun West removed and replaced flooring and painted walls after a water leak under the slab my home is built on. They had to work around the scheduling of interior concrete removal and replacement, wall damage repair and plumbing problems. Throughout it all, Trent was available and always returned calls. His crews were on time, efficient, and the end product was awesome. They made this anxiety causing experience much more easier.

Hired Trent and his team build a lift/elevator enclosure in our house as well as some minor/small plumbing and electrical projects. I cannot fully express the great experience we had. Trent and his team blew me away with their attention to detail, quality of work, excellent communication, and fair pricing. Working with Sun West exceeded all expectations. They helped facilitate a major interior remodel on a 4bd 4ba farmhouse and worked with me to develop on-the-fly solutions to detailed requests with non-standard materials. Among various other items, they built-out a walk-in closet with oversized solid wood European pocket doors, integrated custom oak shelving and cabinets into a wall, rebuilt two bathrooms with walk-in showers and natural stone tiles, and installed an oversized porcelain and cast-iron tub into a very tight area requiring significant skill and ingenuity. The entire teams professionalism and attention to detail was exemplary (framing, electric, plumbing, drywall, tiling, flooring, trim/finish). Trent's communication was clear, succinct, realistic, and timely. Very fortunate to have found such a great contractor and team to work with. Looking forward to the next project.

We had Sun West remodel our master bathroom. The craftsmanship performed was outstanding. Of particular note were the tile installer and the carpenter. Because of their professionalism the tile is perfect and the new linen closet is equally so. They took an ugly room that didn't function well and transformed it into something elegant. We are very happy with our new bathroom.

Trent and Brian did an awesome job on the cabinet install and trim work. Nick the plumber, Tyler the electrician, Carla at White Wolf Cabinets, Steven the tile installer and Teo the countertop fabricator just did top notch work. I had asked each of the previous named subs what it was like working with Trent and Sun West and everyone of them told me he was their favorite contractor to work with. Not all contractors have that kind of reputation. If you're looking for a contractor in the Grand Junction/Fruita area of Colorado you would be very happy working with Sun West. Oh and BTW the kitchen remodel turned out amazing.

Sun west built our four room addition fifteen years ago so there was no question about who to call now to remodel our kitchen and two bathrooms. Trent and his team are total professionals. Thoughtful, thorough, collaborative, and keep things amazingly clean all through the process. trent personally supervises each step and is readily available for quick questions. Did you ever work with a tradesman who shows up at 8 am, drops off his tools, and leaves at 8:15 not to be seen or heard from for days ? SunWest is the TOTAL OPPOSITE! Hands on, prompt and reliable. You might have to wait at first for Trent to fit you into their schedule, but for hassle-free pleasant experience they are worth the wait! I can’t possibly recommend anyone else as highly as Trent and SunWest. They are my construction family forever.

Sun West Construction has been absolutely wonderful through our entire bathroom and laundry room renovation. Trent was very considerate with changes that needed to be made and always took the time to discuss everything in detail so we knew what to expect for each part of the process. Everyone on his team is very personable, always greeting us when coming in, and making sure we knew what would be happening on a given day. Even on a tight budget they were able to make everything seamless and didn't cut corners or compromise on quality. I highly recommend them for any home renovation project and will certainly be using their services again in the future!

Sunwest Construction is great! They built our entire house to our specifications in a very timely manner. They listened to what we wanted, worked great with us! Trent took our hand sketches and made blueprints for our house. Worked through the permitting with the building department, also. Brian and Trent’s attention to detail is top notch! Not one item was left unfinished upon completion. We would highly recommend them, and would use them again in a heartbeat!

we had our kitchen remodeled and used sun west construction. along with completely redoing the flooring with LVT. His subs were very good. we had the whole house painted also. The only thing we didn't do was the master bathroom and we now wish we would have done it at the same time. Trent was very good to work with and will have him do the master bathroom soon.

After an exhausting search for a general contractor to renovate, restore, and construct an addition to my grandparent's old farmhouse we found Trent with Sun West Construction. Trent has assembled a team of professionals that proved to be capable of handling everything from clearing tree stumps from the work area to the final construction of our home. We're so glad that a friend recommended Trent and his crew at Sun West as a GC. We bought a large, 1970 home in the Redlands last year and Trent coordinated a myriad of projects, from switching out light fixtures and rehanging doors to more extensive projects like a complete build of a new en suite bathroom and basement expansion from studs out. Sun West managed framers (Brian is fantastic), electricians (Paul is amazing), drywall/resurfacing, tiling (Sean's team at Creative Tile), plumbing (Joe), and even someone to build us a perfect mid-century banister. Everyone Trent brought into our home were knowledgeable, courteous and professional, and so very patient with all of our questions and input. Trent's a perfect GC, keeping a bunch of different balls in the air and communicating perfectly, scheduling in ways that made sense for all of our different projects. He's completely up-front about any changes to estimates, and keeps clients updated on the crazy state of contracting right now. And although we certainly weren't his biggest clients, we always felt like our projects were a priority when he and the team were there. Bonus: they were all so great with our dog she actually misses them lol. We love our house so much now, and it's updated and highlights our style. Thank you, Trent! We are so glad we hired Trent to do a major remodel on our, new to us, home. He kept us informed each step of the way and was easy to communicate with, worked hard to understand what we wanted, and was able to explain things in an easy to understand way. This house had some (shall we say) “creative” work done on it in the past, that Trent was able to fix and improve along the way, creating a much more sound house. The subs he used for heating/cooling, electrical, plumbing, flooring and tile work were all excellent, friendly and efficient. They checked in with us to be sure we were all on the same page and that we were getting what we wanted. His main carpenter and cabinet installer, Brian, was great to work with and flexible when then things didn’t go quite as expected. Something unexpected happens in all remodels esp. remodels of this scale, sometimes they are even a pleasant surprise in the end, so this was really important. The painting sub (Holy Paint Buckets) was ok, but not up to the quality of the other subs. It took several visits for them to get the job mostly right. But in the end Trent made sure we were satisfied, and we really appreciate that. We would without hesitation recommend Trent Mandeville, Sun West Construction, for your next home project.

We had worked with Trent on a small remodel in 2019, so we were very happy to ask for his team when we did a complete renovation of a bathroom. They were very professional, always on time, and did high quality work. They even made some suggestions that produced a better result than our original idea for an accent wall in the tub enclosure. Enjoyed working with Trent & his crews, as they converted 2 adjoining closets into a small bathroom. They were all pleasant people, professional, neater than most construction workers but not excessively anal, and were very willing to work with us if we changed things a bit. All of the trades people were hard working and Trent did a good job keeping us informed about where they were in the process and who would be at our house when. We would definitely use them again.

We recently moved into a house in the Redlands area that had lots of promise but a terrible kitchen/living area layout and worn out bathroom vanities. We had a plan drawn up to a new kitchen/living area layout that removed walls and moved a window and glass door. We had difficulty in finding a contractor interested in the project. Fortunately, someone referred us to Trent Mandeville of Sun West Construction. Trent brought in his main contractors to look at the project and was ready to start in 2 weeks. Trent kept the project moving along in a timely mannar and was completed on time. We had a retractable ventilation system behind the island range that was unconventional, but his team was able to install properly. The 3 main contractors were a pleasure to work with, were reliable, and did high quality work. The kitchen has been transformed from a congested, dated, unworkable space into a beautiful functional living area. Trent is easy to work with, keeps in good communication, and coordinates the contractors well. Trent even had the stucco painted after finding that the stucco did not quite match the original. Highly satisifed with the project and Sun West Construction is highly recommended.

Sun West Construction was a wonderful asset in our house remodel. Trent and his team were very professional and worked completely within our budget. Sun West took care of many extra facets of the project as this was a second home, and we could not be around as much.

We hired Trent's team to do a complete renovation (kitchen, bathrooms, living and dining room, interior painting and all flooring) of our newly purchased home in the Seasons. We secured three quotes and selected Sun West because of the time and attention he gave to providing a comprehensive quote and the feedback we got from the various vendors we contacted in Grand Junction. He and his team (Willie - tile, Paul - electrician, Joe - plumber, Dan - painter) also impressed us with a strong sense of integrity and professionalism. We were likewise impressed after meeting the cabinet designer, Carla Dalberg, White Wolf Cabinets. This was critical because we were going to be out-of-state during the three-month renovation; we had to trust the person we were giving our key too. Some (well, everybody) thought we were crazy to do this but we trusted our gut. Turns out we were right. Trent kept in constant communication with us throughout the project and consulted us before making any significant decisions. Sun West completed the project on-time and within budget. This was critical because United Van Lines had a hard delivery date. Trent took no shortcuts and there were no unpleasant surprises or upward cost revisions (other than those we decided to make ourselves). The quality of all the work (including our quartz counters) was first-rate. Another shout-out goes to Troy Palmer, Palmer Drywall. All of Trent's subcontractors performed extremely well; I would hire them all again. In hindsight, I'd say we were extremely lucky to have hired Sun West.

We hired Trent for our recent guesthouse remodel. He was a pleasure to work with and we could not be happier with the outcome of the space. I called and Trent came out to our house and gave us an estimate for the job the next day. They did an excellent job. SunWest Construction, Inc., a company that carries the 'Standard of Excellence' in their workmanship, as well as their day-to-day demeanor. My husband and I contracted a job that was going to take approximately two weeks when in fact it ended up being closer to three months. It was mold, not only on one wall but on the entire backside of our home, from the floor to the roof!! Everywhere Trent opened another wall...there was mold!! Yes, there were many unbelievable sighs and shaking of heads. Trent was always the professional, making good decisions on how to proceed and digging in to complete this shocking task. I commend Trent and Brian for their steadfast hard work during the hottest of summer days. Trent fixed unforeseen electric problems, saved us money doing much of the work themselves, and still managed to keep a sense of humor!! Trent managed our kitchen remodel and bathroom remodel that included reconfiguring a wall, adding a pocket door, changing the bathtub into a walk-in shower, moving and adding plumbing, flooring, and tilework. He was wonderful to work with - easygoing, cheerful, and very skilled. He did some of the work himself and is an excellent craftsman. Trent coordinated very well with our decorator. He did what he said he would do and paid attention to what we wanted. Excellent work and we would definitely call on him again.

After several attempts (5) to hire a contractor that would actually show up and NOT rip me off I was at my wits end. I began to think that being an older fat woman with mobility issues had turned me into an easy "mark". I was at a very low point. I literally thought my home repairs and updates were not going to be possible when I came across Sun West Construction. Not only did Trent Mandeville listen to the list of my needs he was willing to install my egress windows with materials I wanted. Everything was done professionally; on budget, on time and with an excellent attitude by him and his sub contractors. This being said it's not the reason I feel Sun West Construction deserves to win the Best of Houzz 2016 Customer Service Award! Several months after completing the egress windows, removing crumbling cement steps ; building new steps, installing a new hot water heater, repairing plumbing lines/valves and replacing the heating system I had a major pipe burst (12-6-15). The flood of water was unbelievable. It was a Sunday evening and after turning the water off at the main I called Sun West Construction leaving a message asking that I get a call as soon as possible. I didn't expect a call back that night as it was Sunday. To my surprise Trent Mandeville the owner did call back with in an hour. I was very upset and pretty much ranting about one more disaster even though it had nothing to do with the work his company had done. I was stressed and upset to say the least. Mr. Mandeville allowed me to vent and carry on without any sign of irritation. In fact he told me he and his plumber would come the next morning even though he was on another job. Not only did they show up they repaired the pipe immediately, discovered an electrical hazard next to the pipe (it is an old house) and had an electrician come and correct that problem too! Even beyond this they discounted everything to well under $400!!! I stress again the problem had nothing to do with the work that had been done several months earlier. Sun West Construction/Trent Mandeville don't only deserve the Best of Houzz 2016 Customer Service Award if I had anything to do with it Sainthood or at least knighting is in order too.
