Metzdorf Design and TCM Built is a fantastic team of professionals with an exceptional attention to detail. At Avant Garde Wood Floors, we work together with TCM Built to offer fashion forward, high quality flooring to enhance their beautifully designed interiors.

We hired Tom Metzdorf to build our house after he was recommended by our architect. He had some great ideas that we implemented in the design and as we were living out of state at the time, he kept us in touch with the build by sending weekly photographs and updates on the progress. He had our total trust and we found him to be a person of the highest integrity. We love our house!

My husband and I really enjoyed working with Tom Metzdorf of TCM Built to build our new home. We were introduced to Tom by our architect, David Fisher, whom I found on Houzz. Tom has extensive professional knowledge and experience; a very positive attitude and works tirelessly to “get it right”. Tom has an eye for design and detail that was helpful when it came to selecting finishes and materials. We were also pleased with the team of subs that Tom assembled, most of whom he had worked with many times. Our craftsman design home is loaded with historic detail, complex moldings, millwork and coordinated finishes. Tom’s skill and artistry brought the architect’s design for our vision to reality. You can trust Tom to listen and understand your desires and concerns, provide you with options, and help you through to successful completion of your project.

Metzdorf Designs has done numerous projects for us. All we have to do is describe a concept and Tom ends up with many options along with what would not work. We had our all of our decks redone a few years ago with new railings etc. The top deck over the garage originally had spandex and eventually faded along with leaking. We stopped using it at all. Tom suggested floating pavers similar to the Tacoma Glass Museum. We were pleasantly surprised and loved the end result. For the railings we saw some wrought iron balustrades in Walla Walla (Italian look) which we were going for. He was able to order the perfect ones. He also installed all new inside doors, moldings and outside French doors. Tom and his team are very reliable and great to work with. We are thinking of the next project and Metzdorf Designs will definitely do the work for us.

Metzdorf Designs provided the planning, design, construction (including subcontractor coordination) and follow-up inspections for my outdoor deck remodel. This was no small deck job. The deck was enlarged over 5 times its original size and I could not be more pleased with the outcome. Tom Metzdorf was personable, creative, and build a life-long addition to our home. We hired Tom to design and build a greatly expanded deck at our home in South Colby. Tom took extra care to create a plan maximizing the Puget Sound view corridor we have. He also had to demolish a large portion of our old deck and ensure the new part tied in well with the remaining walk around porch. In addition, the new deck required our sprinkler system be re-routed. Tom and his crew did a great job. They took care to keep the "mess" under control and provided us frequent status on the project. We are so pleased with the final result and would hire him again in an instance.

Our family has grown and the old rooms just didn't fit us all comfortably anymore. our options were to find a new home or reconfigure the rooms in our current house so we could be more comfortable and enjoy being together. We decided to remodel and then the planning began...We needed to take down existing walls, that were weight bearing, add new lighting and fixtures, redo the fireplace that didn't have any character or charm and add other touches that gave our home a newer look. Tom Metzdorf had the chore of how to replace a weight bearing wall without adding a beam since our ceilings aren't high..he sunk the 12 inch beam INTO the attic, opened up two rooms to give us one large great room and converted a never used formal living room into a grand and specious dining room. He also had to tie the new room into an existing kitchen and it looks like it has always been a part of the house plan...not a bunch of remodel add-ons! Tom's vision for the completed rooms were absolutely beautiful and every design idea he had he delivered on. He had a plan that was timely, with each day defined and his follow through was excellant! The end result was a new great room and dining room that fits our family and is beautiful. Each day Tom left the construction areas cleans of materials and debris and he did everyting to keep my distractions to a minimum. In the end Tom Metzdorf completed our project ON TIME and ON Budget...a total of six weeks as promised and without cost overruns!! Tom is a designer and builder with integrity and good character who treats other people's home as he would his own..a good choice to have do any project..

Tom, built our house 1990, i have known Tom since 1986. He did a great job with us. He helped design the additions and ajustment to our house plans. We still have the house today and still call Tom when we need things done. He did a great job on all the jobs his has worked with us. We will still be using Tom for other plans we have.

We hired Metzdorf Designs to design our dream home. We came with all sorts of ideas, not really sure if they were possible. This was our first experience at building a home. Tom was able to take all of those ideas and incorporate them and make them all become a reality! In the end, we also ended up hiring them to build the home. We were able to get it all done on budget and on time. It took about a year from start to finish with this process, but they were there every step of the way and took the time to answer any and every question we had. We love the home, everyone who has come to see it is amazed at the level of detail and craftsmanship that went into the home. I would hire them again in a hearbeat! Thanks Tom!
