Travis Zhang Photography

Travis Zhang is a Vancouver-based architectural, interior and hospitality photographer with 22 years behind the camera. He works with architects, interior designers, developers, hotels and premium brands across British Columbia — from West Coast modern homes in South Surrey and North Vancouver to residential towers in Burnaby, Langley and White Rock. His approach is natural light first. Rather than lighting a room into something it isn't, he shoots at the hour the space is actually at its best — which often means returning at blue hour for exteriors, or waiting out a specific window of afternoon light for an interior. The result is photography that shows how a space genuinely feels to be in, not how a lighting kit made it look. Travis's background is unusual for the field. He was a contributing photographer for Harper's Bazaar Thailand (2012–2023) — the magazine's own YouTube channel carries eighteen behind-the-scenes films credited to him by name, the earliest from June 2012 — before moving the same discipline to architecture. He served as a Second Unit Camera Operator on Louis Kahn's Tiger City (2019), the feature documentary on Kahn's National Parliament House in Dhaka. He is also the official photographer of the Nanyang Volunteers Memorial Museum, a building that won First Prize at China's national engineering design industry awards. His credentials include WPPI Associate status with six WPPI Silver awards, and Phase One Certified Professional (2016). Every project is quoted individually — the number of final retouched images, the access and light the space needs, and how the images will be licensed all move the price. Tell him about the space, the story behind the design and your timeline, and he will come back with a clear plan. Serving Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, White Rock, Langley, Coquitlam and the North Shore.
