When I decided to build an accessory structure on my property, I was deliberate about finding the right contractor. With experience as a former residential construction project manager, I understand what a well-run job looks like—and I also know the warning signs when things aren’t being handled properly. My standards are high, especially when it comes to professionalism, communication, and craftsmanship. Josh Gubser and the team at Truth Design Build exceeded those standards. From the outset, the process was organized, transparent, and accountable. Communication was consistent and straightforward, and the work was completed in line with industry best practices. There were no shortcuts and no surprises—just solid execution. I chose Josh because of his integrity and clear, honest approach. Those qualities can be difficult to find in this industry, and they made all the difference. While my particular project was relatively straightforward and didn’t fully tap into the firm’s broader capabilities, I would confidently engage Truth Design Build again for future projects of any scale.

I continue to be overwhelmed with the amazing experience we have had with Truth. We are going through a whole-home renovation and the process has been so smooth. We started our whole home project with design by another company but we signed with Truth for our build. It was scary to sign with someone we barely knew but in the end so happy and grateful for Josh and Truth because though there were ups and down on our project he was there every step of the way to make sure our project was done and done right. We love our new home and so glad we had Truth as our builder, on-time, on budget, and honest… those are not things you hear with most builders! Thank you for our home

We haven’t had the opportunity to do a ton of projects with these guys yet, but one we did was memorable. Memorable because the level of integrity that they had in a situation that was not favorable to them was something that really stood out. This company is made up of the kind of people you would want with you when you need to be able to trust that the right thing will be done. No questions asked. And that sums up the act of building a home. To boot, they are a great builder!

We turned to Truth for our new build project after undertaking the design phase with another contractor. Through this process we were fortunate enough to meet Justin Luna. Like all construction projects, we had our ups and downs, but Justin was the steady hand responsible for bringing the project to life for us. Justin's ability to listen, reflect, and problem solve puts him a cut above the rest. He is a true craftsman. In the face of a short timeline near the end of construction, Truth delivered. I have recommended Justin and Truth to others and will continue to do so.

Words can’t express how grateful we are to have worked with Truth. We had an incredibly challenging and drawn-out experience with the city of Denver and these guys never left us high and dry. They helped us navigate a tough situation, and went above and beyond to make sure we got our dream reno. The craftsmanship was stellar—Justin was an absolute detail hound! All the guys working with Truth were reliable, kind and flexible. Bottom line, Josh and Justin are diamonds in the rough, and they made a really bad situation positive for us in the end. We’d hire them again in a heartbeat, and we miss them now that our beautiful new renovation is done!

On budget, on schedule, excellent quality of work. If you don’t read any further, we would use Truth Design Build again and highly recommend them. The details: This review is being written 4 months after completion of a complete remodel of a 100+ yr old family home in the historic district of Congress Park. The home needed significant repair inside and out. The scope of the project included a rear addition. For those unfamiliar, homes located in the historic district must go through a completely separate review outside of the city. It is non-trivial and our project was approved on the first attempt. Permitting with the city was also relatively smooth and uneventful. Construction of the project was completed on time with the exception of things outside of TDB’s control (weather, shipping delays). The final cost of the project was completed within budget, shocking these days. Josh, Justin, and the TDB team were professional and accountable. When issues came up (and they will come up), TDB was reasonable, accommodating, and fair in navigating these issues. Justin in particular is exceptionally skilled at on-site problem solving and does so in a way that we felt we were always put first rather than finding the most expensive fix. They have since handled several minor warranty issues in a timely manner with quality results. The contractors (in house and external) were top notch. The quality of the work, be it structural/infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) or cosmetic/finishes is top notch. We have several engineering friends and family who have commented on the quality as well. Our project had numerous non-standard requests (reusing doors, repurposing items, matching historic trim, etc.) which TDB absolutely knocked out of the park. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with TDB and will absolutely consider them for future projects.

Truth Design Build is a great contractor. Josh, Justin, Lars, and the team are a pleasure to work with. They do a great job from start to finish, use quality subcontractors, and stand behind their work. We strongly recommend working with Truth. We first worked with Josh in 2015 on a triple bathroom remodel. The project went great. So, when it was time for our kitchen/main living renovation, in a different house, we knew we wanted to call Truth. We opted to do our due diligence, though, and called some other recommended options first. None of those other companies gave us the confidence that they could provide a start-to-finish solution. Designers just wanted to throw a design over the wall to the contractor and contractors didn’t care to consider design. For us, a Design-Build solution was the way to go. Truth provided that. In the Design phase, we turned Josh loose to meet our goal of a modern design with mountain elements. The design ideas that he came back with hit the mark. He suggested several elements that we would not have come up with on our own and he really exceeded our expectations for improving the utility of the space. The project documentation for the next phase was also good. In the Build phase, things went smoothly and generally remained on schedule, despite supply chain issues. We lived in the house during the project and, while that’s not for everyone, it worked well for us. We were happy with everyone who came to work on the project and the team was happy to let us observe the work and discuss it as it was happening. As issues arose, the team was great at solving them and stood by their commitment to do excellent work. We had no show-stoppers, nor major issues. Several months after completion, we remain very happy with Truth and the work. A couple minor warranty issues have cropped up and Truth has been friendly and prompt in addressing them. We continue to strongly recommend Truth Design Build and look forward to using them again when we have another project.

We have been working with Josh and Truth Design Build for about 18 months now and since we started working with them they have truly lived up to their name. Our first meeting with Josh we went through our ideas, walking our house of the big and small proposals. Our next meeting was based off all ideas + and he gave us a flexible budget. After our second meeting we knew we were going with Truth Design based on two facts-our upfront budget that we paid after the work was completed and a contract signed date of completion. Anything beyond that date Truth Design Build would have to cover. As the weekly meetings and planning took place we were excited to start working more on our house. Josh and his team listened to our ideas but also pushed us out of our comfort zone to try new and innovative ideas. We thought outside of the box and our product was truly home and as my two year old says, “cozy”. Our whole process from start to finished lasted a year which involved moving walls, flooring in a master closet, renovating a concrete patio and taking the whole house down to the studs except for the bedrooms. Truth was in constant contact with us the entire time; informing us of any obstacles they came across, new ideas they thought of as they knew our style and big picture; as well as going with my constant change of ideas as they made a house our home. My husband and I brought our 4 kids from Chicago to Colorado in hopes of finding home again. We have that accomplished. Josh and his team not only built us a house they built a relationship with us. Their crew embraced our kids each time we came to see progress or made decisions and treated our house like their own home. We are now home, thank you Truth Design Build. Dan and Kate Fitzpatrick

Josh was an absolute dream to work with. We have had a fair amount of experience with contractors and other professionals who work in the home design & improvement space, and Josh was by far the most responsive and proactive we have encountered. He was well-organized in his approach with timeline expectations, payment structures, and adjusting the project in accordance with our wishes. He was extremely proactive with his communication which we loved. We cannot wait to work with him again on future projects!

From start to finish we had an great experience with Truth Design Build, LLC. Our project was a full remodel of a late 70's home which needed a full remodel. The project came in on budget and two weeks early. Job was handled in a very professional manner with all change orders detailed and authorized. Sub contractors used were great as well - on time, within budget and managed professionally by Josh & Justine.
