TURN KEY HOMES OF MAINE

We hired Turnkey Homes to handle the groundwork, driveway, foundation, well, and capping off the foundation with plans to eventually live in the space. This also included the plumbing work and septic system installation. The basement was completely plumbed as well. From the start, their saleswoman, was very difficult to communicate with. We would send emails, and it would take a couple of weeks each time for her to get back to us. Initially, the company agreed to cap off the foundation with the understanding that I would put the temporary roof on, with the intention of removing it later to build a full house. But after they began the work, the owner raised concerns about us living in the foundation after it was capped off. This change of direction was unexpected and caused confusion and delays, as it wasn’t communicated upfront. To make matters worse, their electrician backed out. I spoke with the owner about it, and he assured me he would talk to the electrician and call me back — but he never did. That left us scrambling to find our own, which we did. As the work progressed, it became clear that their own employees were complaining frequently about the leadership and management on the job. This was unsettling and added to our frustration with the entire process. The groundwork itself was also suspect — come spring, a lot of it washed away on one side of the house. I called them to come take a look, and the owner showed up with the groundwork supervisor. They looked at the situation for about three minutes and offered solutions, but it was for me to fix it myself. Ultimately, I had to fix the groundwork. While the work was eventually completed, the lack of clarity, poor communication, and ongoing issues left us frustrated and disappointed. In addition to all of that, there was some other suspect work, such as missing hangers, missing nails, and things like that — more minor, but still concerning. It feels like you’re just a number with this company. Our goal was to build in phases to stay mortgage-free as part of our retirement plan. They build a lot of houses, both modular and stick-built, but based on our experience, I would not recommend this company.

This is a part two from another review I did but I couldn’t figure out how to add to it. Turn Key homes was a wonderful company to work with. Ena, Danielle, Jon, Todd, and Chad we’re great to talk to , they answered all the questions in a timely manner. The best add in , is , we got here today and realized our loam and seed were done. That was a great surprise because we were told it might not happen till mid June. Which is understandable because of all the homes they have to do. It looks wonderful! They worked with us when my husband wanted a walk-in basement, and some doors to go with it. We were Told the land can’t do what it’s not supposed to do but Jon figured a way to help us with this. My husband is very happy with this project! All questions we had were answered promptly. And concerns we had were fixed promptly. Highly recommend!

What can I say? From the very first moment of my husband and I falling in love with the model house, to the moment when they handed us our keys, Turn Key Homes of Maine has been amazing to work with. From the owner, to the sales team, to the project manager, everyone has been incredibly nice, extremely professional, and answered our many questions with great patience. We had to drive by our home site each day and stopped in often. There were times when we stopped in at the house site, that the concrete team, the plumbing professionals, the electrician or the ground work people were there and each and every one of them stopped to talk with us, and if needed explained the process they were working on. We’ve been living in our home for almost 8 months now, and as with any new build, there have been a couple of small issues pop up. Each time we emailed Turn Key Homes, and someone came out right away to investigate and solve the problem. Every day we are so thankful that we had our forever home built by Turn Key Homes of Maine. If ever needed, we wouldn’t hesitate to have them build for us again. They have been amazing to work with. Oh, and the projected completion date was April 30, and we were handed the keys on April 26th!

We are very happy with our experience with Turn Key, they were so down to earth and straight forward which was exactly what we were looking for! We are so happy with our new home, and have had many compliments on how nice it is. Todd, Becky, Ena and Tara made our experience so much less stressful than it could have been, and everyone on site was more than happy to answer any questions we had. We would highly recommend Turn Key to all our friends and family, or anyone looking for a beautiful new home!

Where do I start, from the first handshake to the last nail in the building, Turn Key Homes lived up and surpassed all of my expectations. Todd and his whole staff and employees are awesome. 99% of my building was built without me being there and if I had any concerns they were addressed either the same day or the next day and Todd or his team we’re on site fixing it. We were very particular with some “out of the box” ideas we had in building our home and Turn Key Homes worked hard to make sure they came through with all that we asked for. Communication was good as well as the quality of work. An overall pleasant experience.
