I worked with Jamaal at Yusra Design Build on the drawings for my basement renovation, and it was a great experience from start to finish. We had our kitchen and primary suite renovated by Jamaal and his team at Yusra Design and we couldn't be happier with the decision. Jamaal designed a beautiful expanded master bath and closet, upstairs laundry, and 1-bd/1-ba ADU. I chose Jamaal because he was the only architect who really listened to what we wanted/needed. He ushered the project through a very complicated town approval process, since we are on well/septic and our town’s regulations are much stricter than Title V (yet also fairly vague and arbitrary). Communication was great throughout that process and also throughout construction, which finished ahead of schedule. We are delighted with the work!

From start to finish, Jamaal at Yusra design was kind, professional, listened to my ideas, and gave over 100% effort to make my dream a reality. He was in constant communication and answered all of my questions, regardless of how silly they were, and was always mindful of my tight budget. As a single mom, I often worry about being taken advantage of by home repair people, mechanics, etc., but not once did I have to worry about that with Jamaal. Having his own team of electricians, plumbers, painters, etc. made the entire process seamless and relatively quick! His brother Ahmed was incredibly helpful and they both went the extra mile on several occasions. Their vision and expertise resulted in a space I could never have imagined! My wife and I recently purchased our first home right before the holidays and contacted Jamaal regarding an open concept floorplan for our main floor. Jamaal was extremely responsive and professional. We received draft plans and then final plans promptly. His efficiency, expertise and attention to detail is unmatched.

We had two full baths done at the same time while we continued to live in the home. Two high anxiety dogs and needed a temp shower installed for a family of four. This created a lot of challenges that Jamaal and his team handled excellently. On time, on budget. Everyone at the house was very nice, easy to work with. My husband and I just completed a major renovation and addition (included kitchen, half bath, mudroom, primary suite, deck/exterior) with Yusra Design & Build. We lived at the house through-out the renovation with two young boys and while working from home which could have been a recipe for disaster. However, the entire Yusra team made the process as easy, painless, and stress free as possible. It was the total opposite of every nightmare renovation story you’ve ever heard. The 6 month project finished on time, there was constant communication through-out the process, and every single subcontractor that came into our home was kind, professional, and exceptionally good at their job. Overall did a great job, the reception halls after completion looked beautiful and beyond my expectation, good job by Jamaal and his team. They were professional and always available to answer our questions even outside business hours. Jamaal also helped with recommendation on things that were out of his scope of work and I really appreciate that.

We are remodeling our kitchen from the studs up and wanted an architect to design our kitchen to make sure the new appliances, cabinets, flooring, lighting, large window, workstation sink, custom hood all went with each other and fit perfectly. We were referred to YDB by our contractor. Jamaal designed our kitchen. As with any remodeling we changed our mind a few times as we worked our way to a design we liked. Jamaal was patient with us as he went thru a few iterations of re-designing and re-renderings. He is courteous, professional, knowledgeable, has good ideas, and an eye for chic. YDB fees are also reasonable. We are waiting on our contractor to start the remodeling work and will post back when the install is complete on how everything came together.
