Martha was most helpful and professional in providing design options and guidance for our master bathroom remodel. She listened to our desires and provided multiple design options based on our general ideas. She provided iterations of the original design based on our comments and ideas. She also provided with 3D renditions of the evolving design which was very helpful in visualizing the impact of the design. She was most helpful in gently suggesting modifications to the design that honestly we had not considered. I was very grateful that she accompanied my wife to a granite/marble supplier to pick out the quartz vanity top for the project. Having functioned as our own "designers" on our kitchen remodel project a number of years ago we were hesitant to use a professional designer thinking they would be "pushy" or dictatorial. We now realize that using a talented designer such as Martha for a major project is the only way to go.

My husband and I made the decision to downsize from a large home to a condo two years ago. It was a massive undertaking to go through the "cleaning out" process, but there were numerous pieces of furniture and decor I intended to take with me. Enter Martha! Over the course of several months she helped me design/organize room by room. Her keen eye for color is astonishing! She helped me find appropriate light fixtures, size and style, and passed on her designer discount. She connected us with a expert carpenter who built a wall unit/bookcase/storage and a wall cabinet for our TV and electric fireplace. She even recommended wallpaper for a powder room which I was initially unsure about. She was right and it looks beautiful! Martha is low-key and very easy to work with. She is very responsive. She listens. She is on time to every appointment. She also has "Aging in Place" certification. While our time together is coming to an end, I can't recommend Martha highly enough to the next client who wants a seamless and pleasant design experience!

A house visit ensured everything went smoothly before work started. Martha has been a real pleasure to work with. I am busy running a company and have built and renovated several houses. This project is an older home requiring a new kitchen, bathroom, and the re-design of the living and dining rooms, eliminating walls for an open concept. Martha’s process is organized, efficient, and very helpful for those of us who need to “see” what it’s going to look like. She uses a computer program to help visualize different concepts. She provided me with three designs to start. I picked out what I liked from each and a few of my own ideas, and she presented a second, more refined plan. We did this one more time to achieve a final plan, and then she started picking out all the materials necessary. She presents a portfolio of all the material, including paint colors (which will be very helpful in a few years), she provides a house plan for the contractors to follow, she has instructions on how the tile should be laid, and much more detail. I have been very impressed by her professionalism, her attention to detail, her concern for making sure it’s not just pretty but also will be installed properly. I can’t say enough good things about her helpfulness up to this point. With the organization she brings and her knowledge of the materials and the process, I feel this was money very well spent. I would, without hesitation, refer and recommend her.

We just completed a remodel of three bathrooms in our home and are thrilled with the results, thanks to Martha Fecteau of Fairfax Design Solutions. Our master bathroom, in particular, posed a real challenge; though it was large, it was oddly shaped. Unlike others who merely recommended tweaking the existing, awkward floor plan, Martha came up with an entirely new approach that gave us the large and luxurious shower we wanted, as well as ample room for daily grooming and dressing. Her ideas have made our old and tired bathrooms new and exciting. Every step of the way, she guided us through floor plans, fixture and decor choices, and product placement, and she even checked on the contractor regularly to make sure everything was done the right way. She is a real pro and was an absolute pleasure to work with.

Martha does fantastic work — my wife and I were just admiring our new bookshelves and can’t imagine our living room without them now. She was prompt, responsive, and easy to work with. She gave us a variety of design options that helped us pick exactly what we wanted while staying within our budget. I would definitely work with her again!

Martha Fecteau showed up at our appointment with all the determination and professionalism I was looking for when I decided to hire a professional for my kitchen remodeling idea. She was right on time for the appointment, looked at the pictures I provided and came up with a variety of attractive ideas that fit my budget that would improve the appearance of my kitchen and value of the house. Although some designers seem to shoot for the top of the budget, i.e. Property Brothers on TV, she knew that I didn’t want to invest all my budget and didn’t pressure me to do so.
