17th Avenue Builders handled our first-floor remodel. Freddy and his team were extremely easy to work with from the beginning; conscientious of our budget, professional, and skilled. Freddy was actively involved with every step and onsite most, if not all, days; we felt very comfortable leaving our house in his care! Freddy communicated clearly throughout the entire project. There were no “surprise” extra expenses, as the budget was regularly discussed as the project progressed. He offered his honest opinion when issues arose (which are to be expected in a project of our scope). He and his crew paid close attention to the details. 17th Avenue Builders take pride in their craftsmanship's, and it shows in the end product. We will definitely use them again for any future home improvement projects.

17th Avenue Builders completed a renovation of our main floor during the spring of 2025. Freddy did an excellent job communicating with us, managing a great team of subcontractors he works with regularly & working on priority projects such as staining beams & shelving, and installing cabinets & lighting. His assistant, Josue, was on site every working day & did a terrific job with quite a lot of painting, grout work, & prep work & clean up. It was the “little” things that made us so grateful to the 17th Avenue team: great collaboration & communication, friendly attitude, respectful of our home, dedicated time on our job, & maintaining a clean (as much as possible) & organized job site. We found Freddy as well as a few other GCs through our designer. We are so happy we went with Freddy! Our project started small, but grew as projects do. Our main project was the tear out and rebuild of a dated TV/fireplace wall. A common design element from the early 2000's was a built in TV niche in the middle of the wall with a fireplace on one side and shelving for components on the other side. Obviously TVs and technology have changed considerably since then. Freddy gave us a new wall with the fireplace centered and the TV above along with cabinets and shelves on either side. Freddy was onsite much of the time. We were always happy to see him as he is very personable and easy to have around! His transparency around the contract and budgets and due dates was exceptional. When the project ran into some bumps as projects usually do, his communication was excellent. When we added additional tasks to the project list, he worked with us on on the crazy little details. When we had no ideas, he had many suggestions to improve the project design and appearance. Freddy works with some outstanding subs. We were happy with everyone's work. We highly recommend Freddy and his company, 17th Avenue Builders. We would hire him again in a heart beat!

We hired Freddy for our kitchen remodel project. He did an excellent job and we are so happy with the results! Freddy was onsite almost every day during construction which was helpful to answer questions and make small changes during the project. He helped with many details that we hadn't thought of, like putting cabinet lighting under our floating shelf in addition to the cabinetry. We highly recommend Freddy and 17th Ave Builders!

Freddy Torres is a General Contractor with immense pride in the quality of his work, the quality of work performed by his employees and sub-contractors, the dedication to minute perfection, and honesty. I pretty much gutted a high rise condo, and had an interior designer use existing architectural plans to redesign the condo. Freddy's team performed the demolition, and the rebuild. Renovating an entire condo is expensive. But when you have someone as dedicated at Freddy Torres, honest, and reasonably priced, it gives you piece of mind. As expected, minor things arise post-completion. I had two very minor items occur since the completion of the Punch List. Freddy immediately fixed the minor items, even after he has received 100% of my payments to him. Do yourself a favor. Hire 17th Avenue Builders and Freddy Torres.

We worked with Freddy for a full kitchen renovation as well as a few other items around the house. Freddy was incredible to work with. He was very communicative and was always on top of everything happening at the house. We gave him a pretty strict deadline to be completed and he made sure everything happened on time for us. The work is beautiful and Freddy really cares about making sure you are happy with the results. Not to mention, his pricing was fair and reasonable. We moved out of the house which I would highly recommend as it allowed them the flexibility to work at a faster pace and kept us all sane through a big construction zone! I would highly recommend 17th Ave Builders.

The entire process was smooth -- very timely, responsive, and left the space very clean. I got insulation for my attic and crawl space. The workers did a very good job. My house is much warmer (for the winter) and I'm sure it'll be cooler in the summer as well! Freddy was great to work with. Highly recommend!

Freddy and his team did an excellent job on our basement remodel and we're extremely pleased with the final product. He had a competitive bid and we enjoyed working with him throughout the process. Communication was open and he was very responsive. He provided good advice for any questions we had. There were certain moments before and during the project where we wanted to cut costs and he gave us good options for doing that. We would definitely use 17th Avenue Builders for a future project!
