Mark and his Team completely renovated our primary and 2 other bathrooms for our Coupeville home. Overall, communication, integrity, teamwork, workmanship and project coordination for the remodel and between trades was excellent throughout the project. It was a pleasure having Mark and his crew bring our vision for our new deck to life. After nearly 37 years, our old deck was becoming unsafe and it was time to replace it. We knew we wanted a new design as the old one had wide stairs right in the middle that divided the deck into two smaller unusable decks. Keeping the same footprint and bringing old standards to code, we totally redesigned our deck using Deckorators Voyage series composite decking (color Sedona). Mark and his team had not worked with this product, but they were more than willing to meet our requests. Mark, Matthew and Matthew, Corey, and Tristan all worked tirelessly on our project. The demo started at the end of March here in the Pacific NW. There were days so cold and windy and sometimes raining, that I was sure they wouldn't work in those conditions, but they did and with a 100% "can-do" attitude. As with any remodel, there are hidden issues that have to be dealt with and while some of those involved work outside of the original bid, Mark and his time tackled them professionally giving us a final work result that more than met our expectations. Mark and his crew were professional, courteous and always accommodating. Mark kept us informed every step of the way and together we did some unique problem solving. As with most projects, we realized we wanted a few additional changes and Mark was always willing to go that extra step to make sure we were happy with his final work product. We were so impressed that they always showed up when they said they would and they were always on time - that is a rarity her on Whidbey Island and it did not go unnoticed. We are still in awe of our final project that took over 2+ months to complete due to the intricacies, over 1,000 sq.ft. of new decking and new cable wire rail fencing. The result was a seamless very large, more modern usable space that allows us to enjoy the abundance of nature that is our "backyard". We expect this deck to outlast us and to provide years of enjoyment. Thank you so much, Mark, for all the work you and your crew did for us. BTW, we also had WSW refurbish two smaller wood decks and stairs around the sides of our house, totaling 233 sq.ft. We are wrapping up a 4+ month full remodel with Mark and the Whidbey South Woodworks team. He's awesome. I can't express in words how great it is to have someone overseeing your dream project that really gets it. His work is tip top............his communication is even better. Details matter and they matter to Mark. Every crossroads or challenge was a conversation before proceeding. Each day had recap a of work and often photos. Our designer delt him some challenges and he answered each like a champ. We were a bit hesitant in taking on a challenge as big as this, but Mark brought solace to the journey and I'd recommend him to anyone on Whidbey for any type of work - big or small. He's also a stand up human and a pillar of the community that I've been privileged to get to know better via this project. I could go on, but he's great. 110% recommended (and then some!)

Mark Tucker responded promptly to my inquiry and made several site visits to assess our deck refurbishing job. Where other contractors had told us our +/- 1000 sq ft, old beachfront deck was not worth saving, Mark confidently assured us that his tried and true 9 step refurbishing process would deliver great results and bring the deck back to looking nice again. Mark and his team were consistently punctual, professional, and polite — truly refreshing these days, and much appreciated ! His team worked hard in the hottest days, setting nails, making repairs, washing, sanding and staining. They kept a great attitude, always respectful and pleasant throughout the entire job. All work, including extras that we requested along the way, were completed according to quote. Mark is very transparent and honest about his rates. Thank you Mark, Tristan and Dalton, for fitting our job in before the rains. We are very pleased with the outcome. Mark and his team came out and totally refurbished our very large deck and the soffit. Both the deck and soffit are cedar and hadn't been stained in who knows how long. His team came out wash, sanded, and stained 1,000 square feet of deck and the same amount of square footage on the soffit along with making repairs on the deck and stairs as needed. The deck looks brand new and we couldn't be happier. He and his team were super nice, very efficient and did a great job. We'll use them again for future projects.

They show up when they say they will, they work very hard, and are very professional. They completed a beautiful dining room addition and deck. We are so pleased! Unfortunately, our deck had previously painted and we wanted the paint removed and a stain applied. Mark warned us of possible complications and told us precisely what his crew would do to try and attain our desired look. Mark's crew was excellent. They explained what they were doing and worked diligently each day they were here. We are really excited with the finished product and feel we got a great buy. I do not hesitate to give Mark and his company 5 stars. My wife says there are not enough stars to really rate them. Thank you, Whidbey South Woodworks.

Mark's team did an amazing job for us. We needed our deck surface to be replaced with composite material. They slipped us in between their other jobs, removed the old boards, and did a fantastic job with the new material. They are perfectionists and clean up completely every day. We couldn't be happier! Whidbey South Woodworks renovated my old ugly brown kitchen to a beautiful light and functional work space. They also replace a nasty carpet with beautiful vinyl wood planking. They also build safe steps down to the garage and installed a safety rail. In addition they replaced the counter in the powder room with the same quartz as in the kitchen. I am extremely pleased with outcome of this project. The work crew was always on time and they cleaned up after each work day. I found the cost of this project under the previous bids so to me it was a win win. I will definitely hire this company again. I am so glad to know them!

Whidbey South Woodworks with Mark at the helm is the most high quality customer service contractor that we have used. We have used him and his team for 3 bathrooms remodels and our new deck railing. He is quick to respond to any issues with the project. He is the most transparent contractor and was able to explain what was happening on the job site and the future consequences to me, who does not know all that much about construction. I always felt that I knew what was happening with all the jobs and he was always available to answer my questions. His estimate for the project was exactly what we spent. I highly recommend Whidbey South Woodworks. They turned a cold, drab, dated room into a wonderfully heated cork floored yoga studio. It's beautiful. They added a new window too and it was installed properly, no problems at all. And, they replaced the rotted subfloor where needed. Mark and his team are highly skilled, on time, clean (!!!) and well priced. I also like the way that Mark treats his workers, which says a lot too. We have more projects in our future and I wouldn't hire anyone else.

Mark Tucker took on our kitchen remodel with finesse and grace. The project was like a complicated 3D puzzle due to limitations of space and unforeseen surprises during construction. We (My Wife Sydney and Me/Joe) are long standing and repeat clients of South Whidbey Wood Works (SWWW). On mutiple occasions SWWW has repaired, refurbished and restored our cedar wood deck and railing system. Most recently SWWW completly refurbished the cedar wood deck, railing system and replaced the lower deck lattice grid, and replaced the lattice with 1x3 cedar wood boards. The Cedar Deck and the New Lower Cedar Board Grid looks Sharp! Mark Tucker and the entire SWWW Crew are always responsive. They perform their work in a timely manner and do outstanding work. Mark and John did a full remodel on my kitchen and replaced the flooring in the upstairs with bamboo. The communication was great, the crew ALWAYS showed up when they said, worked hard while they were here, and left my house cleaned up. They were respectful in my space, their work (and advice) was professional and accurate, and I was pleased with the end result. All this work was done in less than 5 days and was under budget. My only regret was not taking Marks advice on custom cabinetry. I thought I’d save money with IKEA and in the end spent more for an inferior quality. I have recommended Mark to friends who send me thank you messages and report their experience is the same. I will hire them again and again and recommend you (the potential client) do too.

Mark is such an excellent craftsman. Everything he did for me is A+. And, we live on an island where actually getting a call back, followed by them actually coming out to see the job, is not easy and very frustrating. Mark is a stand-up, show-up guy. He built a deck, a fence, a porch and replaced 2 double-hung windows with a 5'x9' window for me (before & after photos). Attention to detail and precision is his MO. If you value authenticity in a person, someone you can trust, who does a top-notch job, look no further. Mark is your guy.
