Steve was very helpful with showing us how to make an energy efficient house. Different windows and a lot more insulation. The house is so tight the in the winter time we have to check if the doors have shut. Then is why we have a heat exchanger. They came as must as we needed to get the job finished to more in. The whole house is run on electricity from the heating and cooling with mini splits to a hybrid water heater. There is no chimney needed for combustion products. In the past three to four year we had credits from the solar power generated carried over the the new year. Again thanks to Steve and his crew.

Although I was living overseas during the design and most of the construction of my home, Steve was most accommodating, helping me throughout the process to a very satisfactory conclusion. He cleverly addressed challenges presented by the layout of my lot and HOA restrictions. Steve also developed a creative and practical interior design to optimize the living space in my home. Where the design raised challenges, he developed effective and attractive solutions, including highly customized and very beautiful woodwork. The home is very solidly built, extremely well insulated, soundproof and very energy efficient: quality worth waiting for. I highly recommend Steve for any custom build project.

Steve was a great partner to work with on our recent net zero Design/Build collaboration! Steve was able to take our detailed list of design requirements and create an incredibly functional home plan that ultimately satisfied all of our needs and desires. Highlights of our project included: - The final home plan was the product of a highly collaborative and iterative design process that relied upon 3D renderings and walkthroughs to test and review the plan at each stage of design. This allowed us to validate the plan and, where necessary, make adjustments before construction actually started. We can honestly say that there is nothing material we would change about the design. - Steve’s extensive background in modular and net zero construction ensured an extremely energy-efficient home (HERS score of 11) - Our building envelope presented some interesting positional challenges that Steve was able to solve elegantly and efficiently. - Steve not only accommodated our desire to do the interior finishing work (i.e., cabinetry, tiling, flooring, painting, etc.) ourselves, but in fact actively facilitated our ability to do so by adjusting his build plan to complete our workshop well before the rest of the house was completed.
