I cannot recommend Mahya more. She's incredibly warm, patient and thorough. She knew when to push us creatively on the project and when to accommodate our requests. Her suggestions and input were always helpful and on point. We were able to completely put our trust in her on vendor selection and could not be happier with her recommendations. Likewise, our vendors have wonderful things to say about Mahya. She knows her stuff, and I think an excellent choice for someone who appreciates architectural artistry, design and creativity. I think she's a perfect combo of knowledge, style and soft people skills need to execute on large projects. Could not recommend more and would only go to Mahya for any future project.

We worked with Mahya and her team to generate plans for a large home remodel, that involved both structural and cosmetic alterations. Before going with Mahya, we interviewed several other architects. Some of them had very clear points of view, but didn't seem to understand that it didn't matter what *their* vision for the space was; we were the ones who had to live there. Others seemed to see their job as just doing what we wanted, without providing any input on how our ideas could be improved. Mahya was the rare architect who struck the right balance - she took the time to understand what we wanted, then applied her expertise to make it the best possible version of our vision. We ultimately didn't take *every* suggestion she made--but we did take a lot of them, and thinking through the ones we didn't take was really helpful for us to shape our own vision of what we wanted. The project sailed smoothly through SF permitting and is now in our contractor's hands, and I am so excited to see these plans--which are a lot better than what we thought we wanted when we started the process--come to life! In addition, Mahya's team checks all the boxes you'd want in terms of a working relationship - they're responsive, efficient, and thoughtful. (To give you an idea of _how_ responsive, Mahya literally held a design meeting for us *during her own surprise birthday party*. We told her we would happily reschedule, but she knew how important it was to keep on schedule and insisted we go ahead.) We probably got a round or two more of revisions than the contract originally contemplated, but no one made a fuss about it or upcharged us or anything. They also took the time to explain to us how the process works, what things we need to decide when, etc., which was critical to feeling like we were in command of what was happening with our (we hope) forever home. In sum, I am very glad that we had the chance to work with Mahya on this project, and have no reservation recommending her to anyone looking for an architect.

After a ton of deliberation to either purchase an already built property or buy and build on a vacant lot, we chose the later. That's when we met Mahya and her team and couldn't be happier. She and her team are incredibly talented and very patient. What makes her stand apart is her artistic eye and attention to detail. We are super close to getting our permits and can't wait to work with her during the construction phase as well. If you have a big project like ours, Mahya is the architect you'd want to go with.

We hired Mahya for the design work for adding an ADU to a 7-unit apartment building. Mahya and her team has been excellent. Her knowledge about the building codes, the ADU requirements, and the ins and outs of Berkeley Planning and Permit Process. Working with her and her team was very pleasant. They have taken care of most difficult tasks and have worked with me on the design details and any modifications required by the City.
