My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

About Us

Carpentry has been running in the Overbye family for 3 generations leading to Noah's unique combination of attention to detail, passion, and dedication to meeting and exceeding client expectations. Our experience ranges from remodeling of traditional homes to the execution of brand new construction, fully customized to the homeowners vision. We approach every project with the same care and craftsmanship regardless of the size, scope, or budget. The process starts when a potential client reaches out to Blue Spruce Homes to discuss their ideas for the project and goals for functionality. From there we will establish a budget and partner with an architect to thoughtfully design a residence which conforms to the clients vision while meeting deadlines. Finally agreements are made and the project is scheduled. Our favorite moment of the building process is realizing our clients visions and bringing them to life. Excellent outcome follows unique construction challenge. I live in the states, but own a home in the Comox valley, BC. To further complicate matters, the work involved tricky exterior renovation. So here I was faced with hiring someone I had never met, to do work I could not monitor. A potential nightmare, but wait, through word of mouth I connected with Noah Overbye. From our first communication he calmly and clearly provided verbal and written details of work to be done, materials needed, and a schedule to be followed. I was relived and pleased. Of course, most important, the end product. I am very relived and pleased. Noah’s personal manner and work skills are exceptional and I enthusiastically recommend his services. Tim

Noah renovated most of our 1980's home and did an amazing job. The quality of the work was exceptional. Him and his whole team were great to work with, and very professional. There were several sub-trades involved in the reno and Noah made sure the work was coordinated so that there were no delays and kept the work flowing so that it was completed within timeframe he initially gave to us. He was able to work with us on sticking with our budget and providing us suggestions and options. Highly recommend him.

I highly recommend Noah. He did a great job working on my house so I suggested him for the beach house I designed for my neighbour. He did an excellent job, staying on top of sub-trades, careful with costs and schedules and delivering tight finish work. He kept precisely to the building plans, checking with me and the owner on any small necessary changes, something a lot of contractors seem to have trouble with. He was a joy to work with.

Noah and Blue Spruce built a gem of a seaside cottage/cabin for us, in a very difficult to access location, down a steep hill and beside the ocean. The final product was better than we could have imagined. (We have trouble getting our guests to leave!) The craftsmanship shows in every detail. Noah identified and rectified numerous building challenges we encountered. He communicated constantly with us and kept us up-to-date at all stages of the build. He and his crew treated this property as if it was their own, and crew members have brought their families out to show off the completed structure. He has also been prompt to deal with a few issues that arose months after construction was completed. Noah was recommended to me by a very discerning former custom home builder and I am pleased to be able to recommend him as well.
