We were off to a bumpy start with our project manager when Willis came in to help not only get beautiful plans together, but advise us on strategy for working with Pasadena City. He always took our calls even after his part of the job was done. His experience and wisdom were priceless to our ADU journey. Very grateful that we had him in our corner for this monumental task. Willis is a superhero! He came into our project at a point where we were doubting if it was even possible. His calm and measured energy immediately put as at ease. Nothing about our build was simple since we were converting an existing non-conforming structure to an ADU, but he was unflinching and professional from start to finish. I met Willis at an open house (one that he'd designed). The house in Altadena was beautiful, the colors were awesome and the floor plan was open and expansive—exactly what I wanted! I hired him on the spot. Willis was a consummate professional throughout the project. His good taste and vision were peerless and modern. He helped me take this boring old 1959 house to the cutting edge--a mid-century modern farmhouse. The colors (mostly yellows and greys) are just now becoming “the colors” being seen. He went the extra mile with design plans and permits and made sure to keep my contractors and engineers on their toes—he even helped me source tile, stone, cabinetry—Willis was awesome and professional. My 1959 Woodland Hills house went from grandma to super cool. Willis is a trained pro with confidence and the knowledge to back it up. I call him the Shell Answer Man because his knowledge about the city planning, architecture and design and *bonus* where to get stuff- is broad and comprehensive. His daring good taste and brave color choices turned this dark house into a bright and modern home. His plans were spot on and he helped me with finishes, sourcing materials and great advice. Willisland Design Works gave me a place to live that makes me happy and added a 100k in value as well! I enjoy every day here now and I am confident that he will work with me on my next project and this house will become a great rental property.

I am working with Willis currently on an extensive remodel / addition in Beverly Hills. He is responsive and knows how to navigate through the building department easily to pull permits. Willisland Design Works did a complete makeover of my mid century ranch I purchased in 2016. Originally built in 1950, he basically went back to the studs and support beams to create a spectacular period correct but modern adaptation of a mid-century ranch. He's deeply passionate about his work and knows his stuff. I'll soon be working with Willis again to design my Sinatra Twin Palms pool in my spacious backyard.
