JC and his team are absolutely phenomenal! We hired YK Design and Remodel to tackle our fixer upper that had many significant issues. JC is knowledgeable in so many areas of home repair and also has an excellent team of subcontractors that can take on any type and size problem. JC is also amazing on the design side of renovation/remodel- he has a great eye and made many great suggestions. We were most impressed with how quickly the project was completed and the value for money. JC gave quotes on site and stuck to what was agreed upon. The team took care of completely rebuilding a staircase, installing flooring, foundation waterproofing/drainage, painting, hvac, plumbing, and some electrical all before our move in date. They cleaned up as they worked and friends and family that saw progress pictures all commented on how clean the job site looked. Our experience was so positive that will be using YK Design and Remodel for all home repairs moving forward!

We absolutely loved working with Yahaira and Juan Carlos. Yahaira has such great design skill and Juan Carlos was so detailed and professional. We’ve been talking about redoing our kitchen for 10 years and are so happy we found YK Design. They were extremely thorough, detailed and creative. They made the renovation process so easy. The design was awesome, we got everything we wanted and more. They exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend them to anyone thinking about a home project!

Carlos and his team did a great job helping us update our master bath and closet. Carlos was easy to talk to and good with letting us know what what possible in our budget. We are very pleased with our result. I will include before and after photos of our shower/ bath area. Would use again.

What a great team! Yahaira has great design skills, and Juan Carlos and the work crew do quality work and they are efficient with how much they can get done in a day. I have two new bathrooms and a new dry bar that I love. There was a lot of coordination with the timing so we wouldn’t be without a bathroom, and they were very organized with the schedule throughout all the work. All issues that came up were resolved quickly. This is a great team, highly recommend!

All around great contractor. We have used Juan and team for multiple projects now at our home and our rental home. Their team does a great job and is organized, reliable, reasonable, and honest. We didn’t have to worry about changing schedules or budgets. We have recommended them to anyone considering construction projects and have had multiple neighbors work with him on major remodels. Recommend them for anyone who wants theIr construction process to go smoothly.

The team at YK Design was great! Carlos gave us the lowest of three estimates for three projects in our home. The most important factor to our family is peace of mind and safety and we knew we could trust the individuals who came into our house. The team is professional, they work with diligence and cleaned up after each day. Carlos was easy to communicate with, responsive and clearly explaining everything along the way. He kept us in the loop regarding other projects and his crew were working on so we could agree on days the work could get done. The guys always showed up on time and got right to work. They were friendly and respectful. The only issues we had throughout the entire process was a small plumbing surprise, but it turned out they uncovered something that had been occurring since the previous homeowners and had it not been for this team, we could have had a bigger problem in the future. We are so thankful we contracted Carlos. He did a really good job from beginning to end and I've already recommended him to several neighbors. We will be using using YK Design again for other home updates and renovations!

Highly recommend YK Design and Remodel for their professional home improvement and design work. We worked with Juan on multiple projects and their team has since done larger remodels for our neighbors. They are easy to work with, organized, and provided clear estimates ahead of time. The finished work is superb and shows a true attention to detail. Our neighbors had heavy design work that was truly tailored to their tastes. We are glad to have had him assist us with multiple projects (drywall/painting/electrical/woodworking) and when we are ready for larger remodels we will look to them for their expertise.

YK Design and Remodel did a fantastic job on our kitchen, and we would definitely recommend them to anyone planning a remodeling project. Yahaira’s design was exactly what we wanted, and she helped us pick the right cabinets, tile, backsplash, countertops, and other finishes so we didn’t have to find anything ourselves. Juan Carlos did a wonderful job installing the new kitchen and was very accommodating and understanding when we hit a couple of unforeseen and unavoidable issues because of the age of our house. Even with those issues, the project was finished on time. One of the best things about YK Design and Remodel is their communication—they respond right away to emails, calls, and texts, and we always felt like we knew what was happening in our home even though we weren’t there while most of the work was being done. YK also was happy to make adjustments throughout the process as we realized we wanted to add some items to the work plan. We felt that YK Design and Remodel really cared about our home and us as clients and it showed in how they approached the work. We would highly recommend them and plan on using them again for other remodeling projects in the future.

We contracted YK Design to undertake several projects for us, including the replacement of a spiral staircase with a new, traditional staircase with storage closet, as well as a master bathroom complete remodel including addition of a laundry room. Prior to selecting YK Design we met with approximately 6 total DC area contractors to get estimates and a feel for their style. We ultimately selected YK because we felt they offered the overall best price to value ratio, as well as providing a clear understanding of what exactly we were looking for, while also offering some suggestions that we had never considered for the spaces. Along the way the crew of YK listened to any feedback that we had, and when questions arose they did not hesitate to ask me for clarification. I was fortunate enough to be at home throughout the entire project, and the crew were nice and respectful every day. We've had a lot of work done on our home in the 3 years we've lived here and the YK guys were by far the hardest working I've ever seen on site. My partner and I couldn't be happier with the finished product of all the projects we tasked YK to work on, and I not only recommend them to future clients but I will be using their services for any additional projects that we have come along.

Our master bath remodel was completed in the fall of 2013. YK converted an original bath(1984) with a separate sink area in the master, and a toilet, linen closet and step in bathtub shower, into a single large master bath. YK installed beautiful cabinetry, granite counter tops and tile shower and flooring. This included a large shower with great fixtures and a state of the art shower door. All of the surfaces coordinated well. They began the process by presenting us with a variety of options that made decision making easy. Their designer has excellent taste. Their proposal came in within our budget and there were no cost over runs. The professional results helped our house sell one and a half years later in one day, a record for our realtor.
