Our Design Approach Two in One: Architectural and Interior Design We knock down walls, tear down houses, dig trenches, and pick couch and paint colors, all in one office. In our practice, we believe there is no line between architecture, interior design and landscape/site design. Many of our projects morphed from one type to the other during the process. Our design and construction experiences in the above three areas give us the unique edge to deliver a home with comfort, performance and appealing aesthetics. Ying helped me out with my attic renovation, and I’m really glad I worked with her. She took measurements, came up with layout ideas, drew sketches, and went back and forth with me a few times until everything matched what I wanted. She’s super responsive and easy to talk to, which made the whole process a lot smoother. What I really appreciated was that she even came to the site twice to check on the contractor’s work and make sure things were being done right. That gave me a lot of peace of mind. Excellent architect with an eye for maximizing space, working around space constraints and creating great flow, especially in the main living area. She designed a major expansion for us and was very attentive to our needs and what we wanted out of the space. Whereas some architects are too focused on design at the expense of practical function, Ying found the perfect balance for us. She handled all the bathroom design elements so we didn't need a separate designer for that and she helped guide the kitchen design, which I think helped to make these important spaces more cohesive to the overall plan. She was especially good at a floor plan for a busy family with kids and a home that is designed for entertaining. I also appreciated that she was available for consultation throughout the renovation process and even collaborated with our contractor on key elements like spacing and materials to be sure everything was done right.

Ying was the architect on an addition we put on our house. We definitely wanted a modern aesthetic, which Ying helped us achieve. She also helped us tailor the new space to our specific needs. Ying was always very responsive and collaborated well with the GC and designer.

We loved working with Ying. She designed a completely new home for us when we knocked down the old property and rebuilt. As well as guiding us through the local town regulations, her vision was in sync with ours every step of the way, we liked every design she came up with and she made us think about the project in new and creative ways. She understood our needs as a family as well as our aesthetic. As a family of four, with two of us working from home, the home she designed for us ended up surpassing our expectations, helping us live and co-exist in ways we couldn't have imagined from the plans, with surprising design details that came to life when the house was built. We love our new home so much and we would not hesitate to recommend Ying to anyone embarking on a home renovation project.

We hired Ying to add a second story addition onto our 1964 ranch, add a master bathroom and closet extension, and renovate our main floor and basement. The additions are seamless both inside and out. Our main floor was redesigned to accommodate an open floor plan with a remodeled kitchen. Ying offered a lot of creative solutions that maximized the changes we wanted while keeping us within budget. Most importantly, Ying allowed the design process to be collaborative to ensure that our project was exactly what we wanted. During the build process Ying was always available to come on site and answer questions.
