When my husband and I decided to undertake an extensive remodel of our recently purchased 1970s mid-century modern home, we knew we needed a team that could appreciate our vision and translate it into reality. The project was ambitious, involving significant structural changes such as demolishing walls, replacing the traditional staircase with a floating design, converting a dated sunroom into a stylish screened patio, and expanding the primary bathroom and laundry room. Every surface, from floors to doors and even the exterior siding, was updated. The Zimmerman family, at the helm of ZFE Renovations, was nothing short of phenomenal. The craftsmanship of the custom Euro-style cabinets deserves a special mention; crafted by a subcontractor, these pieces are so elegantly made they resemble bespoke furniture more than standard cabinetry. My kitchen renovation was the second job ZFE Renovations has done for me. It was a pleasure working with David for the 5 weeks it took to completely transform my 30 year old kitchen into a sleek modern version. David is an excellent craftsman. He and I discussed every morning where the project stood and what we hoped to accomplish that day. He is a very good listener, very optimistic and easy to work with. David worked hard every day and brought my renovation in on time and within budget. I could not be more pleased with the job ZFE has done and I recommend them highly.

We feel like we hit the jackpot with this family-owned company for our home renovations. We had a wonderful experience, from our initial meeting with Scott to walk him through what we were envisioning and receive a bid, to calls with Nancy for advice on paint colors, to the daily interactions with Josh, who was running point and overseeing the day-to-day work at our house. Every company/worker they brought in was phenomenal, and Josh was meticulous in overseeing all of the work and ensuring it was perfect. (He noticed things we didn't even notice.) Here's a rundown of we had done over the three-month project: -We had the entire house (ceilings, walls, trim, doors, kitchen cabinets and three bathroom vanities) painted -New floor tile in two bathrooms, the laundry room, and kitchen -New hand-scraped wood floors in living room -Kitchen: painted cabinets, extended island and cabinetry, custom-built pantry, installed furdown to extend cabinets to ceiling height, new backsplash to ceiling, remove dropped flourescent light box and installed can lighting, new stove, new quartz counter tops, new sink -Removed and replaced fireplace tile -Removed intercoms in every room of the house -Updated two bathrooms: retextured walls, removed/replaced shower tile, extending it to the ceiling and adding nooks for toiletries, updating all faucets and hardware, painting vanities and adding furniture "legs", installing new counters and sinks, new lighting -Building/installing folding counter top above washer and dryer, removing old cabinetry, replacing with new -Powder room: new vanity, lighting, retexturing I'm sure I'm forgetting to mention some things, but it was an extensive amount of work. Josh was dependable, consistent, and awesome. We were always in touch, and he would text us any questions he had so we could respond throughout the day. He was determined to make everything perfect and something we would love. We can’t say enough good things about our experience with ZFE Renovations and recommend them as highly as possible. I wish I could attach more than four photos to better showcase their great work.

Great value, we interviewed multiple contractors. Scott and David were great to work with. We love our new open floor plan, beautiful wood floors throughout and the amazing transformation of the kitchen and master bath!

Nancy, Scott, and Josh made our bathroom remodel painless. Worked with us to figure out exactly how to meet the needs of a walk-in shower for aging parents who have moved in with us. As an added bonus, they designed it so we can retrofit back to a regular shower just by adding glass if needed in the future. ZFE will definitely be my first stop if I need any kind of remodeling in the future.

The Zimmerman's transformed my tired and outdated bathroom into a beautiful spa. I absolutely Love everything about my new bathroom. Scott, Nancy and David are a joy to work with. After the project stared they worked everyday and showed up on time. I never had to call to ask if they would be working. They are very professional and caring people.

Scott and Dave do fantastic work! They transformed my dark 13 year old kitchen into the light, bright space that I had hoped for. They listened to what we wanted, took some creative license and produced a high quality product. Along the way, we had an issue with the countertops (not their fault) and they stuck with it till it was right. Nancy was delightful and patient as well! I will definitely hire ZFE again and highly recommend them.

This is a family operation and they are so wonderful. They quickly became friends of ours. The work was exceptionally beautiful and they were so helpful and professional. They even answered basic questions for us about our home and held our hands on a very extensive remodel of our home. What a wonderful team! Every worker they sent to our house was polite, trustworthy, and respected our home and our space, in addition to doing a fabulous job! ZFE did a fantastic job on my renovation office project. Scott and David took the original concept (which was in my head) and brought it to life - even better than I imagined. Their work was exceptional! They were knowledgeable, neat, friendly, honest and professional. Their subcontractors were the same. My office is now spacious and bright with clean lines. At their suggested additions, the work space has little things that make it cheerful and both efficient and productive. The price was exceptionally reasonable for the quality of the materials, product and workmanship. I will definitely hire them again for any future projects and would highly recommend them to anyone who asks.

ZFE Renovations did a whole house renovation on my townhome. They came in at budget and did an amazing job including following up with me afterwords. I highly recommend them.

ZFE completed my interior remodel after I bought my home. Scott is respectful, timely, conscientious, and talented. We replaced a half wall and support columns with a cross beam between the kitchen and family room, extended hand scraped wood floors, ripped up ceramic tile floors and installed travertine, replaced kitchen granite and repurposed the original granite in bathrooms (Scott's fantastic idea), moved and built cabinets, replaced electric with gas stovetop, painted entire inferior, created and built a custom entertainment center, and more. ZFE also built an outdoor fireplace based on a picture I had seen and drawing I made. It turned out amazing!! Nancy is very helpful with interior design, too! I would highly recommend Scott, Dave and Nancy; ZFE Enterprises!

ZFE did our half bath remodel and did an excellent job and were a real pleasure to work with during the process. I would highly recommend them!

ZFE helped me completely renovate my house. This included helping me pick out the granite (thank you Nancy), select the flooring, recommend the painters (repainted my existing cabinetry) and install my outdoor kitchen. They recommended the sub contractors who performed professionally and cleaned up completely when they finished. They were on time as promised and there were no hidden costs as I experienced with previous contractors. I certainly will go with them on any future projects.

ZFE Renovations are wonderful! They updated my kitchen and baths adding new flooring, tiling, countertops, gorgeous backsplash and more. In addition, they installed hardwood floors in my foyer and dining room. They are honest, timely and a pleasure to work with. They came up with creative ideas and offered advice on what upgrades would add value to my home and which ones would not. They saved me the expense of investing in a new refrigerator by finding a repair fix for my freezer door. They worked directly with the appliance vendors when they noticed my new oven had a dent. They were respectful of my home and cleaned up thoroughly when they were done. They delivered on all the promises they made...they started the project as scheduled, completed the work on schedule AND within budget. I will hire them again for my next project. I know several people who have used ZFE Renovations and we are all overwhelmingly pleased.

I first used ZFE Renovations in 2011 for the kids bathroom renovation, tub tile, granite, sinks . I was so pleased I called them back for estimates on several other projects. They did the master bath re-do in 2013, it consisted of framing and tiling new shower and tub, add tile to floor, marble countertops, strip wallpaper, texture walls, paint, change hardware. Again I called them back to do the kitchen in 2014. The quotes and allowances were well done, everything was done on time, just the way I wanted it, no surprises, no hidden costs. They provided options for design and options and recommendations for cost savings. They worked with me to pick out all the fixtures and made helpful suggestions.

We had our back patio extended from a tiny space, to an awesome living space with outdoor kitchen and mounted TV. ZFE was a pleasure to work with. Very honest and respectful! I would use them again.

In June 2009 we purchased a home built in 1985 that was in dire need of a full remodel. The project was set in 2 phases. Phase 1, full kitchen, living, dining and family room demo and rebuild, Infrastructural changes and updates including removal of primary load bearing wall replaced by 15 foot structural beam wall, 100% ductwork replacement and attic renovation, exterior work including full addition of french drain system to protect against flooding and to stabilize homes foundation, and pool remodel. This part of the project was performed mostly by ourselves and a good friend with tremendous carpentry and engineering skills as well as a landscape and pool contractor. After 3 years we then moved to phase 2 which involved all 3 bathrooms, our master bedroom, adjacent guest room and guest room converted to home office. After vetting 3-4 contractors we selected ZFE Renovations based on fair price estimate, portfolio of work, and sense of trust and honesty as they would have full access to our home for next 3-4 months. The key points of the project involved full gutting of master bath including relocation of all plumbing, an office bath remodel which required filling in an unsafe 2 foot sunken bathtub, removal of a bathtub in the guest bath, replacing it with a standup shower. All bathrooms received newly textured walls, lighting, and tile work, blending natural stone in the showers and porcelain tiles on floors, new custom built cabinets and quartz countertops. Adding form and functionality we converted the adjacent guest room into our master walk in closet and completed our master office with new dark bamboo flooring. The results of the project and the work by ZFE Renovations has been outstanding. We worked closely with the contractor and they were patient with us as we meticulously selected fixtures and had some minor revisions to the plans as the project progressed. We reworked the location and size of the master shower arriving at a wonderful size and proximity, and worked through the design of frameless glass showers in all 3 bathrooms. A testament to the work of ZFE was from the shower glass contractor when he stated that fitting the glass was easy due to the flawless 90 degree square walls he had to work with.

We hired ZFE Renovations to update a house that was built in 1964. Nancy made recommendations for floorings, paint and lighting fixtures. The company was timely, professional and in constant communication with remodel status. Would definitely use them again!

ZFE built an outdoor living area, including granite counter top with built in appliances, tongue and groove ceiling, stone wrapped cedar posts, engineered beam and all electrical. Professional group, attention to detail. This project was our dream and ZFE made this dream a reality. Rave reviews from all our friends and will absolutely do business with this company again.

Have had several projects completed by ZFE Renovations over the years, including new kitchen floor tile, removal of popcorn ceilings, crown molding, inside and outside painting, and siding repairs. Most recent project was Bamboo flooring installed in the entry way and dining room. Projects completed in a timely manner and within budget, as promised. Good at making recommendations that helped save money on projects as well. When necessary, "corrected" any issue to our satisfaction without problems. ZFE Enterprises also listed and sold our home in just 23 days the spring of 2014!

This organization is professional, responsible, knowledgeable and reasonable! What more could you ask for? I had a series of repair and replace projects that they were able to work in to their busy schedule. Loved the way they came up with create solutions to problems.

Scott, David and their subcontractors did a great jobs for us. The flooring crew took out the existing hard flooring, including both ceramic tile and pre-finished wood. They replaced them with continuous pre-finished wood through multiple rooms and kept the pattern perfect. The paint crew painted the entire interior of the house and made it look like new. Lastly, they replaced the carpet in several more rooms. During the construction, our regfrigerator went out and they helped us get it replaced as well. We could not be happier.
