As a community public art coordinator, I worked with the Archie Held Studio on two site specific public art projects: one for a college (2008) and one for the local community (2011.) Mr. Held's exceptional installations were produced after working with various committees with the goal of providing vital focal points located outside the college's library and in the heart of our town's historic depot. Mr. Held worked well with the public art committee, local city government, and college administration meeting deadlines whilst quickly overcoming obstacles, all without sacrificing the quality of the project. He and the artisans in his studio are craftsmen; they demonstrated exceptional workmanship for each installation. The site specific sculptures designed & installed by Mr. Held are beautifully elegant, strong pieces with essential nuances reflective of our community.
