Candy Hearts

Once a year around Valentine’s day, those pastel art deco hearts landed in my hands and I had to read the blurry off center text that was a message of love from someone who had a crush on me (I hoped!) Little did I know that those simple childlike feelings would stay with me and annually be relived as I celebrated more and more Valentine’s days. That inspired me to set up this company to help people to find new and different words to make them feel strong, enlightened, humored or happily connected. I love how small words and short lines can leave a powerful memory. This is something that works for every day of the year. Candy Hearts can do this. HAVE A HEART Each Candy Heart painting is on a 16-inch square professional grade wooden stretched gessoed canvas with a wooden spline inlay. The image is unusual in that it is traditionally silkscreened but with a specially designed recipe of paint medium that recreates the texture, look and feel of chalky candy hearts. Each one has it’s own personality of texture, just like the candy. Another layer of shimmery transparent shadow creates the 3-D affect. ADD TEXT Your special phrase can then be airbrushed on in layers to harken back to the tiny heart candies of childhood. You can leave the heart blank. Or, order a classic Candy Heart phrase like "HUG ME" or "TRUE LOVE”. For those of you who prefer a motivational, humorous or insightful expression, order your choice of words on your painting.
