I have spent most of my life living in South Dakota and California. I have lived in different areas known for their agriculture. I grew up with a fascination and curiosity of being outside. I have always loved driving around and taking in the beautiful scenery. This is where I collect the majority of subject matter that inspires my paintings. From a young age I fostered a love of all the arts. I have explored areas such as music, theatre, and especially the visual arts. I work primarily in the visual arts now because I have come to realize that this is the way that my mind functions most efficiently and naturally. I am constantly working things out in my head visually from how the light hits the trees at certain times of day to pondering the sculptural and colorful ways that my mind processes and views music. This is why I am a visual artist; because that is the way I was created. The geometry and rhythm of the landscape viewed from above is an inspiration itch that I continue to scratch. The dance between straight man-made lines and the unruly sway of organic lines is an intriguing juxtaposition. I hope you enjoy this exploration of interchange.
