About Us

My artwork is a fusion of art and mathematics. It recreates complexity as it is found in the natural world, evoking natural forms: the path of lightning through the air; the shaping of a coastline, or of a mountain ridge; the billowing of clouds in a storm; the flow of water as it erodes and shapes a hillside; the plume of smoke from a fire's embers. These patterns offer repeated discoveries to the viewer, as new interpretations and features unfold from the abstract and colorful details. Artwork is digitally created, rendered in limited edition prints on canvas. Work is produced as ready-to-hang gallery wrapped canvas, varnished with UV-protective acrylic, from 24x32 up to 36x96. Can also be produced on glass panels, silk, or as tile murals.

I purchased a wonderful picture from the Fractallography Studio a few years ago. The picture is both unique and beautiful and is very pleasing to view every day. Visitors to our house very often compliment us on the picture and ask about it. I try to explain that it was "created" by a computer algorthm written by Paul McGuire. The algorithm results in a very unique and almost random picture which reflects many naturally occuring phenomena such as sunsets, relections, dappled sunlight and so on. I would strongly recommend Paul's paintings to anyone interested in modern, contemporary and abstract art.

I purchased 2 of Paul McGuire's works for my home. He was very patient with me - especially since it was very hard for me to make up my mind which ones I wanted. Once I purchased the pieces, he wanted to keep one to touch up (something I didn't even notice!) since it had been hanging in a public space. Although there wasn't a deadline, he kept his word and they were ready when he said they would be ready. Not only did he take the utmost care and guarantee I ended up with the best possible pieces for me, he also agreed to wire the pieces so they could hang either way. His attention to detail, sensitivity, enthusiasm, and creativity would be an asset to any project. I look at my artwork everyday and notice something beautiful I hadn't noticed before - the pieces continue to evolve for me, just as I had hoped. Not a day goes by that I don't feel grateful that I own those pieces. I wholeheartedly recommend artist Paul McGuire.

It was a pleasure working with you Brenda. I have had many people ask about hanging my art in a different orientation, and I always talk about rewiring your artworks. If you remember, I was going to just move the one wire to the other side, but you asked that instead I add a second wire, "in case you changed your mind later"! :) I'm glad these pieces continue to be "new" for you, even months after you bought them. I should be ready with my silk scarf experiment shortly - I'll let you know when the samples come in.

I love Paul's work at Fractallography. The way he uses a dry, technical process to create such beautiful, ephemeral pieces is inspiring - and very cool at that! Who says programmers aren't creative?!

Commented: Love it.I now have a source for producing these up to 4'x8' in a single panel, so the piecework approach is not necessary for most installations (unless you want something like a 12'x12' - call me! :)
