KHirn

Karoll Hirn ( KHirn ) is a French / American painter born in Nantes, France in 1973. Karoll studied fine art at Pivau and obtained a B.A. from Murdec’ in 1995. KHirn works each layer using several compositional orders and methodologies - forms, figuration and Abstract Expressionism - The resulting work might accommodate such various movements, marks, textures, thinly applied marble dust, pigment, paint and dry spatula strokes, all in varying degrees of transparency. KHirn’s work not only engages with the tradition and conventions of painting, but also with the idea of an artist’s unique hand, and the thin line between failure and completion.
