Creative Kitchen Spaces

After interviewing 5 contractors, my husband and I decided to use Jason Tapia (Creative Kitchen Spaces) to do a complete remodel of our condo. We definitely made the right choice as our experience could not have been more positive. Jason handled every aspect of the remodel from the design to the permitting to the actual construction. He was enjoyable and easy to work with, knowledgeable in all aspects of the construction process, respectful of our budget, and gave great advice. We found him to be honest and trustworthy and we relied on his input when faced with decisions. Jason’s crews were absolutely wonderful; their work was so professional and high quality and the worksite was always left cleaned up at the end of the day. They were on time and great about keeping us informed. We wouldn’t think twice before hiring Jason again and have recommended Creative Kitchen Spaces to our family and friends.

This is a review for Creative Kitchen Spaces, but we need to start a few years back. Ten years ago, we decided to remodel our aging “1960s” kitchen. We researched and visited several Santa Barbara kitchen remodeling businesses and settled on Jack’s Kitchens (now Creative Kitchen Spaces). We worked closely with the owner, JoAnn, and her contractor, Jason Tapia. JoAnn has now retired, and Jason now runs the business as Creative Kitchen Spaces. During the remodel process, most of our interactions were with Jason. He is highly professional and he understands all aspects of the construction business. His work, and that of his work crew is excellent. In the years since Jason finished our kitchen remodel, we have stayed in touch and used him and his company for other projects. We remain pleased with everything he has done for us.

Creative Kitchen Spaces is a great, local business. We used them for a complete kitchen remodel and in an ADU. Jason is knowledgeable, professional, and easy to work with. We love our finished projects and highly recommended them!

We worked with Jason on a more extensive renovation of our house following the recommendation of a friend and long-time real estate agent based in Santa Barbara. Over the years, we have worked with many contractors over the years, some really good ones and still Jason and his team stand out! From planning to execution, resolving the typical unforeseen problems in a pragmatic way, offering different options, working with the planning department, project oversight and payments, this is one professional and courteous team! The work product itself is excellent and has received only praise and admiration. We can only recommend CKS!

There are seemingly a million decisions to be made on a remodel project and I very much appreciated and encouraged Jason Tapia's, owner of Creative Kitchen Spaces (CKS), input during the process. He was able to provide useful and insightful suggestions but at the same time was respectful of my ultimate preferences and decisions. The process was made easier by visiting the CKS showroom where you can meet to go over your plans, and see real-life examples of cabinetry, countertops and hardware…not just pictures on Houzz or similar websites. I appreciated Jason showing me a variety of price points and giving me the option to upgrade or downgrade based upon my budget without making me feel like a tightwad. I believe all the lines of products he represents are of high quality so there really is no wrong choice. If I had any advice to those starting this process it would be this, use Jason from the very beginning. Use his architect, let him help with the design work and let him assist in picking out the cabinetry, hardware and countertops from his showroom. I wasted many months before getting started by pulling in others to do what Jason can coordinate very easily. Secondly, do your very best to foresee any and all additions to the project from the beginning. There are many things that we added during the process that we had initially not thought about (nor budgeted for) until we began the project.

I would definitely get Jason Tapia and Creative Kitchen Spaces five stars. My experience started with a refrigerator line leaking and water in three rooms. After everything dried up Jason led me through the process of designing a new kitchen. It was quite an experience. What was a small kitchen became larger as we took down two half walls that separated the dining room from the living room. That opened up the whole space and made everything seem much larger. My L-shaped kitchen got an island instead. And boy do I love it. Lots more space and room to work. I chose gray cabinets and a herringbone pattern for the backsplash in gray tile. It just looks wonderful. Really love it and I’ve gotten many compliments. His employees were always courteous and were very good at what they do. Not only did Jason help me with my kitchen but also with a larger remodel that included everything but the bathrooms. My rooms have been given a fresh look with new moldings, and doors. My front doors are especially pleasing to me. Love them. So I would not hesitate. Call Jason and get started with your remodel. You’ll be very happy I’m sure.

It was a pleasure working with Jason and his crew! He is extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of the construction/design project and his workers are very competent and professional. I needed an addition built on my house for my elderly parents and I couldn't be happier with the outcome! From start to finish they made it an easy process taking care of all the details. Jason and his crew did a great job on my project. I enjoyed my interactions with them, particularly their interest in my input on project ideas. We completely remodeled the kitchen and then some, including removing a wall to open up to the living area.

Jason has done work for me for over 20 years. Multiple jobs. All done professionally, on time and for the agreed upon, very reasonable, price or even less! I would highly recommend him to anyone reading this. I have already referred several friends to him.

Jason, who owns Castle Construction, is great. He and his crew are knowledgeable, professional and pleasant to work with. I bought cabinets from Creative Kitchen Spaces, Jason installed them, and I am very happy with them. Jason is also very good at problem-solving, creative design and follow-up after the job is finished.

After consulting other construction companies, we chose Creative Kitchen Spaces/Castle Construction for our major kitchen/living room remodel. We started the project at the end of July 2021 and finished mid October 2021. The transformation to our new kitchen/living room was very smooth and we are extremely satisfied with the final product. Jason was very helpful with all the questions (there were numerous) that we had during the process. We needed quite a bit of guidance as this was our very first remodel of this magnitude. We chose and purchased our cabinets, tile, sink, faucets, and reverse osmosis system with Jason's help. On the day the cabinets arrived at our home, Jason was there personally to ensure everything arrived in good condition. All of Jason's crew were extremely nice and helpful as well. The quality of their work and attention to detail was very impressive. We were also pleased with the work and the responsiveness of the sub-contractors Jason chose. Jason was upfront and honest about any possible issues and additional costs that could arise during our project. Like most people, our budget for this project was not unlimited, and we believe Jason saved us money where he could. There was a time during our project where Jason was willing to come out on a Saturday to address an issue and another time in the pouring rain to fix a leak above one of our sliding doors. In the midst of a pandemic and many other on-going projects, we felt that our remodel did not stall unnecessarily and we stayed on a good schedule. Thanks again!!. We highly recommend you!!
