Stone Projects

We picked Leo and Stone Projects for our kitchen and bathroom remodeling after carefully reviewing several proposals. Leo is a great project manager and we felt safe knowing he is on top of the crew and the work that was being performed. Our project went over the scheduled completion date however it is typical considering the size of the project that was undertaken. We were happy in the end that the finishing and the quality was as we expected.

Stone Projects recently installed quartz countertops and tile backsplash in our kitchen, and I would like to tell you about our experience. My husband and I liked Rebeca from the first moment we met her. She was extremely helpful throughout the entire process and provided all the information that we needed. We purchased the tile for the backsplash from Fitzgerald Tile. Rebeca told us that Stone Projects did not install tile, but we asked her if she could recommend someone, which she did. The installed countertops were gorgeous and installed without incident, but the tile backsplash was another story. Leo learned that the subcontractor’s experienced installer had recently left the company. Long story short, Leo immediately brought in someone else and the entire kitchen was re-tiled. Rebeca and Leo guaranteed that the work would be done quickly, and they stood behind their commitment. We truly believe that another company would have informed us that they were not responsible and it would have been up to us to resolve the situation. We don’t believe that anyone else would have been as honest and responsive as Stone Projects. Even though we experienced a bump in the road, we love our kitchen and would not hesitate to recommend Stone Projects to a friend.

Use only for Stone work. Unfortunately we let Leo convince us that he could handle the remodeling of our kitchen, master bath, repainting of the entire interior of our home and refinishing of hardwood floors on both the main and upper level of the home. He provided a six week project plan. The project started in October and right away there were problems and he replaced the experienced lead carpenter with his own inexperienced work force which led to lots of issues. Cabinets for the laundry room were not ordered in accordance with our sign-offs and had to be replaced. The kitchen cabinets for the sink run were miss-measured by him by 9" and luckily I caught that in time but there were still issues with the cabinets that he couldn't resolve. The master bathroom cabinets were miss-ordered (only finished on the fronts and not the sides! ) and had to be re-ordered at Stone Project's expense. The project coordination was horrible. At one point he had people doing sanding and construction work in the kitchen and at the exact same time had the painters painting the Kitchen ceiling..........you guessed it, that had to be repainted. Also, while putting plaster on the walls for the cabinet pantry, they put the cabinets in at the same time resulting in wet plaster on the cabinets that needed to be removed. The process of attempting to refinish the hardwood floors was a nightmare. After staying at a hotel for a week we came home and found they weren't finished correctly. To make matters worse, Leo's Stone Project employees put down Ram Board to protect the floor.......but they did it with masking tape which pulled off the finish!.....his floor subcontractor abandoned him and he had to hire another subcontractor to redo the floors so we had to exit the house again for another week. Less than 6 months from those being redone and they're already peeling! Anther example of Stone Project's ineptness was that while trying to find a stud to hang a cabinet in the master bathroom they drilled no fewer than 30 holes looking for a stud (and yes they were using a stud finder). He finally admitted he didn't have the expertise to finish the woodwork in the bathroom after months of leaving it unfinished and without electrical outlets. The subs were constantly complaining about his inexperience to us and that he wasn't paying timely. He also kept telling the subcontractors that he knew what he was doing because he had a business management degree from Northeastern. We had paid Stone Projects/Leo everything (some amounts were even in advance of the that we owed him except his 20% holdback and he began demanding the holdback although the laundry room and bathroom were far from complete and we had a three page list of open items 6 months into the 6 week job. He told us we were being unreasonable to not pay him the holdback as they continued to work, but that's the purpose of a holdback.......you don't pay it until the job is completed and that was his payment arrangement. He abandoned the job in March and we haven't heard from him since. We have heard from several of his contractors who were looking for payment, but we showed them that the arrangement clearly had Stone Projects responsible for payments. We are in the process of working with other contractors to get the job finished correctly and totaling up the cost of that and the required rework to be able to take the proper next steps. The stone work came out great and that's consistent with the other reviews but we strongly recommend that you avoid using Stone Projects for anything other than stone work. Go with an experienced general contractor.....we should have!

Very professional, paying attention to details and customer preferences. The work in our kitchen was done on time and on the initial budget. We plan to continue to work with Leo to upgrade the bathrooms.

Leo was so professional and helped us so much when we went in on a Saturday to discuss our kitchen. Everything they did from start to finish was with quality and care . We have recommended Leo to our friends and family we think that much of the service we received. We are now hiring him to do our fireplace surround. It was a pleasure to do business with Stone projects and I highly recommend you check them out. j&j

excellent custom service and good product. we used this company a few years ago and they did a nice job and then we re consulted them to put up cabinets and counter tops in a second job and they were easy to work with , did the job in a timely manner and followed up with us promptly.

We loved working with Stone Projects for our kitchen remodel. Leo was wonderful to work with- very responsive and went above and beyond.. even sent us pictures of the quartz we were considering from other jobs. Templating and installation/delivery were just as smooth. I have already recommended Stone Projects to others and will be using them again for any future work.

Recently had my kitchen completely renovated by Stone Projects. They were quick and extremely helpful. Living through construction with an infant can be challenging and Stone Projects made it a quick and painless process. The owners were super helpful and I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

We had a great experience with Leo at Stone Projects. Leo was very receptive to a new product that is not generally available in the Northeast. He went above and beyond getting all the information, talking to technical support and educating himself about the product (Top Zero sink). He is very responsive, always returning my phone calls same day. A pleasure to deal with. His employees did a great install and my new kitchen with gorgeous granite countertops and my fabulous Top Zero sink look great. Very competitive in pricing as well.

Stone Projects exceeded my expectations in providing professional service and a quality product at a very fair price. I was impressed every step of the process: from showroom education through installation. Not knowing much about hard surfaces, I was grateful for Leo's patience in explaining the different hard surfaces available. I loved being able to view all the granite slabs in the factory showroom! I was impressed by the attention to details during measurement; especially for the suggestions and recommendations about some of the smallest details I had not anticipated. The measurements are done with state-of-the-art technology, which meant a perfect fit for our countertops (even where there was a contour in our wall.) The installation crew, lead by Carlos arrived on schedule and were exceptionally pleasant to have in our home. Their comradery and teamwork made for a smooth installation. It was very obvious to me that they are proud of their work! I would positively recommend Stone Projects!!!

After visiting several Stone Companies my husband and I settled on Stone Projects for our new house and could not have been happier. Not only did Leo have a vast selection of stones for us to choose from but the entire process went smoother than I could have hoped. He personally took the time to tour the lot with us, giving us honest feedback on the different stones we were contemplating, not just upselling us the most expensive slabs. The templating was done with precision and within 24 hours we were back at the store placing our templates on the slabs. In only 3 days, yes 3 days, we had installation of the counter and vanity tops and it went just as smooth as the rest of the process. We cannot thank Leo and his team enough for everything they did to help make the chaos of building a new home a little but less chaotic for us. I would HIGHLY recommend Stone Projects to anyone and everyone.

We hired Stone Projects for our kitchen countertops 1 year ago. The process from choosing the granite to the end of the install was great. We were able to view several slabs of granite, review how we wanted the template on the granite and we chose Typhoon Bordeux which is beautiful. The contractors who did the install were professional and did a beautiful job. We are very happy with the end result.
