UPDATE — August 25, 2026 Still NO installation date. We signed our contract with Just Closet Guy in September 2025 and paid a $5,500 deposit. We were originally promised installation within 4–6 weeks. It is now August 25, 2026, almost 12 months later, and our closets still have not been installed. We still do not have a confirmed installation date. Unfortunately, the same pattern of delays and promises continues. We are repeatedly told that a schedule will be provided, that an installation date is coming, or that we will receive a solid date soon. Then the date never materializes and the process starts all over again. We have been extremely patient and understanding, but nearly a year of waiting after paying a $5,500 deposit is unacceptable. I am sharing this update so potential customers can make an informed decision based on our experience. Almost 12 months later, we are still waiting.

BEWARE!!! It is very unfortunate that I have to write this review, but I hope that I can spare others some unnecessary grief. I first worked with Mike back in 2016 on a closet project in my co-op (my previous review is listed on here from 2018). He was responsive, professional, and reasonably priced. The closet came out great, never a single issue even after 10 years of daily use. Fast forward to 2026, my husband and I began renovating our new home. As promised, I called Mike to come out and take closet measurements once the framing was up. He said that he had availability to begin our project in mid-late spring, which was perfect for us since we were still in the middle of construction. Mike checked in once or twice a month after our meeting, but seemed scattered and forgetful with finalizing our drawings (which had not been the case in the past). I thought this was odd, but reassured him that we were also busy and it was not an issue for us if he took some extra time. When the plans were finally sent to us months later and it came time to get on his schedule, I felt like he was brushing us off, but figured it was just due to him being super busy. I had to reach out to him multiple times, and explained that this was causing conflicts and delays with other work we needed to have done. He apologized profusely for the delay, we sent the deposit and he booked us for the last week in May. We worked all of our other contractors around his scheduled dates and spent time preparing the workspace only for him to cancel the night before (only after I reached out). After that, it was nothing but date changes and excuse after excuse (issues with the fabricator, delays with materials etc.) This went on for weeks along with endless apologies and promises with no concrete answers. It got to the point where it was delaying our project too much and we had to move on. Once I told him that it was clear that he had no intention of doing the work and asked for a refund, he started ignoring my calls and texts. I gave him several opportunities to refund the money to no avail, and ended up having to take a day off of work to go and file with small claims court in order to get our deposit back. All of this to say that if he is willing to ruin his reputation and rapport with a long-time customer, he will certainly do the same to anyone else. I have recommended him to friends who have also worked with him, and he knew that I had several other projects in my home that I was definitely going to hire him for, none of this mattered. He had no issue with taking our money, and trying to gaslight us into thinking that he was as honest and reliable as he once was. It really is such a shame, but I hope this can save someone else the trouble that we went through!

Michale came to our house and took measurements in September 2025 after he told us our custom closets would be installed within 4–6 weeks. We also paid a $5,500 deposit toward the project. As of July 6, 2026, we still do not have an installation date, and the project remains unfinished. For nearly 10 months, we have been given repeated promises, tentative dates, and assurances that installation was coming soon, but none of those commitments were kept. Michael Harrington has repeatedly pushed the schedule back and provided dates that never happened. Some examples of the communication we received: * Nov. 2, 2025: “I will have schedule by Tuesday afternoon.” * Week of Nov. 17, 2025: Promised installation that week. * Nov. 18, 2025: Apologized and explained delays due to an unexpected trip to Ireland for a funeral, stating he could not install until our return or unless he had access to the home. * Jan. 18, 2026: Provided another expected update. * Feb. 2, 2026: Said he would update installation dates after that week. * Feb. 11, 2026: Said he would provide a date by Saturday and that we were next. * Later, he said it was looking like the week of March 16th and promised, “I will not change after that. I will stay committed.” * March 21, 2026: Promised a final installation date. * March 27, 2026: Said, “Final date later today.” * April 2026: Told my father the installation would be Monday, April 13th, but that date passed without completion. Despite numerous follow-ups and repeated assurances that a final installation date would be provided, we are still waiting as of July 6, 2026. The most frustrating part has been the repeated delays, missed commitments, and lack of dependable communication. We were told 4–6 weeks, paid a $5,500 deposit, and are now approaching 10 months with no installation date. I am sharing my experience so other customers can make an informed decision. Before moving forward with Just Closet Guy and Michael Harrington, I recommend making sure you are comfortable with the timeline, communication, and follow-through.

The process of getting the closets installed was less to be desired and frustrating and for that reason the review is not a 4/5 stars. Now that the closets have been completed, I will say that the closets are really nice and we are happy with the overall end results. Photos were captured in the process of being completed, not the end result.

My review is coming late but it is never too late to thank mike for what a beautiful masterpiece of furniture closet he made! Service was super and the final project a dream! It did take longer than expected but was definitely worth the wait! I will most definitely use him again for future projects! Thank you!

Mike is genuinely fair and considerate, always striving to do right by his customers. He was attentive to our needs throughout the process and crafted a personalized master closet for us. The design process went smoothly — we reviewed mockups, shared feedback, and finalized everything within about a week and the build took about 2.5 days. Mike also provided temporary clothing racks which we truly appreciated. Overall, the finished closet looks fantastic, and we’re really happy with the result. If you can be patient with the scheduling, I believe Mike offers thoughtful designs and top-quality work.

Mike did an amazing job with our master closet and linen closet’s . We just were moving into our home as well as doing renovations and Mike loaned us racks to hang our clothes on until our closet was complete . The whole process was seamless and Mike kept us in the loop every step of the way. We will definitely be using Just Closets again in the future and we can’t thank you enough for completing our master bedroom.

Got refund fully back after 22 months ( except for all the specifically measured storage bins, legal consultation fees, time value of money and endless stress). No closet, no safe storage for pediatric medical equipment, but finally over.

Professional! Mike was amazing from design to installation. With us every step of the way. We used Just Closets for 3 separate projects over the years. Two full closet organizers and a make up desk. Highly recommended!

Mike did a good job on our Master Bedroom closet. The quality is good and we are very happy with our closet. Though there was a delay in the initial promised date , we are happy about the quality of the completed closet, hence updating my rating and comments I had earlier.

Nothing but delays. When I asked to cancel for a refund, he stopped replying and refuses to refund me.

Do not use Just Closets! Mike was very nice and professional in the beginning. But since I gave him a deposit, nothing but delays, false promises and never began work. May installation was still not done in August. He still has not returned my deposit since I cancelled project with him. Don't waste your money!

I waited forever for a closet this Gorgeous!.. Thank you Mike. " Everything in its place"...well almost, (You saw my clothes) I may need another one ha ha. A beautiful built in that looks like fine furniture. I am very happy with the result. The guys were respectful, polite, neat, engaging and efficient.

Working with Mike from Just Closets to redesign our bedroom closets was an easy and enjoyable process. Not only is he friendly and professional to work with, but he is knowledgeable on his process, products, and truly takes the time understand who you are and how you will use the spaces he designs for you. We have a smaller room that we use for our master bedroom that has 2 smaller closets. The ultimate goal was to eliminate all of our furniture and fit everything in the 2 closets. We didn’t think it would be possible, but it was our ideal goal. With his help and expertise, we were able to eliminate the entire furniture set and free up space for a cozy reading nook! All of our clothing fits, plus shelving space for my hats and scarves…and within our budget! The shelving is sturdy; a great product with a crisp and sleek look. Mike’s installation was quick and clean. I changed my mind on a small detail and Mike came back soon after installation and fixed it no problem. He’s a great guy with a talent for his craft!

Mike Harrington was a true professional. He was able to custom design a closet to meet my specific needs at a reasonable cost. The job was completed in a timely fashion and the work space was left neat and orderly. Mike was great and did a great job transforming one of our bedrooms into a walk-in closet. He gave us exactly what we wanted and always went above and beyond. He was easy to communicate with and very responsive when we reached out to him. We did have a small issue with the time it took to complete, but he worked hard and gave us a few extras at no additional cost to compensate. Overall, we are extremely happy with the end result.

We had two custom closets installed by Just Closets. They exceeded my expectations of quality, service and design. It's always a pleasure to work with Mike. He has done work for us on several occasions - from design, production, and implementation of our son's closet, to shelves, to hanging pictures - he is a useful person to know. Aside from that he couldn't be nicer or more friendly - and he is very easy and trustworthy to have around. After researching a variety of custom closet companies, I decided to go with Just Closets based on reviews and price. Mike was wonderful throughout the entire process. He arrived on-time, and sent blueprints and estimates in a timely manner. He worked with me to ensure that each component of the closet met my specific needs, and even suggested accessories that would improve the overall functionality of my closet space. I have an old house and as everyone knows there is not a straight wall or corner. Mike came in took measurements and utilized every inch of space to make me a very functional and beautiful walk-in closet. He was full of great advice which I availed of. Thorough, reliable and easy to communicate with. Mike understood exactly what I needed and fulfilled my expectations completely! This was a walk-in closet about 12 ft long and included shelving for storing linens & toiletries, 3 rows of drawers, 4 sections of hanging space and overhead cabinets for out-of-season clothes and heavy blankets/comforters and one long section for shoes. Simple design making it easy and quick to clean and maintain.
