Who can I talk to about having a higher rating than five stars?! :) Sincerely, I can't say enough wonderful things about Erick and his team. I reached out to four companies about quotes for new wood floors in my place -- and there was no comparison. Erick is one of the most genuine and considerate folks I've encountered throughout my entire home-buying process. There are many reasons I recommend Excellent Floors and Services, but the fact that the owner is also one of the folks installing, sanding, staining, polishing, etc. is a game changer. You don't work with a middle man who is the go-between; you work directly with the team doing the work. Erick answered all my questions quickly and thoroughly (and I had a lot of them!), always treating me with kindness and respect. I never felt pressured or rushed. I truly trusted Erick to treat my home and new floors like they were his own. Every single person who has stepped foot inside my place has complimented my new floors. I am proud of them too -- and will recommend Excellent Floors and Services to anyone who will listen.

Erick and his crew installed a herring bone floor in our basement. True to the name of his company, his work and prices were excellent.

We contacted several flooring companies to help us with an attic remodel where there were original wood floors underneath a layer of carpet and tile. Some companies felt the job was "too small" and tried to up-sell us on adding new wood floors instead of restoring the original. Upon reaching out to EFS, I got a quick response from Erick who came out the same day to give us an estimate. He was very accommodating to our interests in this project and appeared to be as excited as us to restore our heart of pine wood floors to their original beauty. On top of this, EFS was very competitive in their pricing. On the day of the job, the team was very efficient in removing the old carpet and tiles, and they took their time in bringing the wood floors back to life. Additionally, the crew paid attention to small details, like cleaning up after themselves. There was even one guy who ended up vacuuming my entire porch just to make sure no dust from their work was left behind. I was impressed by their level of care in their work and by the frequent and transparent communication by Erick throughout the process. I could easily text Erick and get a response within an hour. You just don't see that level of customer service anymore! Plus, the proof is in the work (see photos) - can't recommend these guys enough!! Will absolutely call on them again.

When we purchased our Capitol Hill home, the reclaimed, wide plank pine floors had some deep gauges, big splinters, and spongey areas. They also made us think more of a log cabin than a town home. Erick explained carefully how he could repair the gouged and splintered areas and make them firmer. He was as good as his word. And when it came time to choose a stain color, he came back to put down round 2 of colors, including a custom mix he recommended for us, and patiently waited a full 24 hours while we circled around and around before making up our minds. He INSISTED that we wait until we were sure of what we loved since we would have to love it for 20 years!!! The end result is stunning, a rich medium golden brown with a satin finish that brings out the best in the old pine. Erick also added on the refinishing of a back staircase half way through the job at a reasonable price. This company is out to satisfy the customer. Erick responded promptly to every text and email and was extremely helpful and reassuring every step of the way. Look no further to get the floors you want!

We were impressed by how responsive, patient, and professional he and his team were from beginning to end. He listened carefully to what we wanted, gave us great guidance and suggestions, and gave us the time and space to make the right decisions. When the time came for installation, Erick and his team were highly skilled and highly efficient, with great attention to detail. Very quick responses, did a fabulous job, flexible with our construction schedule. Erick is very professional always shows up on time. He has excellent communication skills and made sure to keep in contact with me throughout the entire process. He was also very accommodating to our changes, both timing, and construction materials needed. We had floors repaired, pieced in, and refinished. The entire floor looks brand new and you cannot tell where they pieced the new sections in. I will definitely hire them again and will recommend them to all of my clients!

Working with Erik was a great experience, from start to end. He was always responsive, so communication was perfect. He brought me several color samples for my wood floor, offered me suggestions, answered all my questions (which were many!) and did 4 color samples on my floor for me to choose from. Part of the job he did at my house included the installation of new wood planks in the kitchen, where I had the ceramic tiles removed, matching the rest of the wood in the house (which probably has around 80 years). He warned me that the transition is never perfect, but can get close. And that was exactly the result I got. Because of the configuration of my kitchen, the 2 transition areas can barely be seen because of a peninsula. So I don’t mind having some slight difference in the wood color in the transition areas, that are only noticeable by a very picky eye. The second part of the job was the sanding, staining and coating of all the wood floor in the house. When the house renovation was almost done and I needed the floor done to be able to move, he made a big effort to do the job during the week I needed it and as fast as possible. The few spots I found in the house that were not done the way I expected, he corrected them, with the best attitude. I never had to insist. He also gave me suggestions on how to maintain my new floor and even left me a cleaning kit that won’t damage the beautiful coating he put on my floor (satin finish). The only mistake during the process was my own, I wanted to choose a more brownish color to get rid of the orangey one my floor had (typical color in many houses in DC). But the Golden Oak I chose didn’t do the trick. If I could go back I would choose a different color.

excellent services for real. contacted me within hours of my request. scheduled me for the following week and the work was done within hours. both Erick and Willmar are courteous, honest and professional at what they do and trust me they do it well. they know what they are working with, will answer your questions concerning the quality of work and material they use for the final product they deliver. i highly recommend them for any floor work you have. next time there is other floor work i know where to call, Excellent Floor Services. thank you guys

Erick and his team arrived on time, were courteous and professional in every respect. Despite insufficient electrical power in the Unit, and using smaller equipment, and literally on their knees, they repaired, stripped and finished the living room and hallway floors in record time. Erick came highly recommended and I certainly add my kudus to a job well done. These old floors are beautiful!

We hired Erick to install and finish wide plank hard maple flooring from Vermont Wide Plank Flooring in June 2017. We had just fired our previous contractor, who was a hack and a scam artist, so we did thorough research on our next hire. I found him to be knowledgable about the latest trends in hardwood floor finishes and his price was competitive with other high-end flooring contractors. After checking his references and countless conversations/text messages to discuss the project, we chose him for the job. He provided us with several samples of the finishes we were interested in and ultimately helped us mix a custom natural penetrating oil finish for our floors. He did a great job on the sanding and finishing and you can practically glide on them because they are so smooth. The end result is truly beautiful and we enjoy our new floors every day. Of course no project is perfect, but Erick followed up promptly to correct a couple of minor issues after our walk through. I would definitely hire Erick again. Highly recommended!
