HISTORY Perrin’s Surface Solutions began in 2011, founded by the Perrins, a couple who had a vision of creating the kind of flooring store they would enjoy shopping in. Owner Mark Perrin worked for a decade with the previous owners of the business, and he fell in love with the process of helping customers find their perfect floor—and then see that it was beautifully installed. “I worked for a decade with the previous owner in sales and estimating,” Mark Perrin says, “and I just fell in love with the business. I studied architecture in college and have background in residential and commercial planning and installation, and I really like DIY projects—so the flooring business was a natural fit. My wife and I wanted to engage in the process of helping customers find their perfect floor— and then see that it was beautifully installed.” COMMUNITY Since the business began, the Perrin’s Surface Solutions team has taken an active part in the community. Among the organizations for which the company provides major support are youth and sports groups, such as the Medford Youth Hockey organization, for which company owner Mark Perrin served as president; and the Aspirus Medford hospital organization, whose $16 million expansion is an important fundraising project they are deeply involved with. In addition, they support and sponsor local sports, golf outings, various community events, and many local fundraising efforts.
