Hired PPN Flooring to sand and refinish my hardwood flooring. It took him 3 hours to sand and revarnish the dining room floor, the hallway and two closets, resulting in unprofessional work.
The sanding edger left gouges along the wall which was not sanded to an even finish before application of the sealer/varnish. The floor was vacuumed prior to applying the finish, but it was not wiped off with a tack cloth prior to varnishing.
There are black stains beneath the varnish which is likely fine sawdust that could have been removed with a tack cloth prior to applying the varnish.
Be aware of contractors who ask that they be paid in cash. This is usually an indication that their work will not be professionally done.
I would not recommend you hire him to do any of your work. I would not have hired him had I first read the reviews of his company, so be sure to read the reviews before you hire a contractor.

PPN flooring, took full payment but never completed work, promised to come back but never showed up, send multiple messages but never respond
PPN florring Nick came and did the flooring (including sanding some hardwood floor and install some new laminate floor) for my rental property, they leave the new flooring quarter round and reducer moulding wide open, loose, and unfinished, and demand the full payment.
In April 2022, Nick showed me some nice finished picture and said would finish like that. He estimated the whole work, including to fill the gaps, fix some squeaky sound on the floor. He said would start Tuesday (May 10) and finish on Thursday (May 12) with a crew of four.
May 10th, Nick showed up with two other people (crew of three) I told him upon his arrival if he needed any extra/different materials or supplies, let me know and I would get the correct ones on site within 20 minutes. Nick replied he had enough material, and never asked for any other supplies.
On Wednesday May 11 just about 11 am (less than half of the time frame he initially estimated), he texted he would be done soon. I was really surprised how he could complete a 4 people*3 days work into 3 people *1.5 days work. When I arrived the rental property, I can’t enter the unit because the floor was wet with paint. So, I can’t check inside the unit on site. But I do found, they installed laminate floor in the stair landings without reducers and quart round, leaving big gap there, see pictures.
My wife trusted them and told them she would pay them in full right away, but they have to come back to complete the work at a different when they come back to Ottawa again. We understand the impact of rising gas price and inflation and everything’s impact on Nick and his team, so we chose to be kind and trusting they would come and complete the work at their convenient time so that it could cost them less time and less gas. Nick agreed to come back on May 23rd, in writing.
Then the storm caused a blackout and I understand this will need to be rescheduled. I followed up with Nick and he still agreed to come back a week after. The following week, when I asked him when he would come, he never respond. I followed up again, he chose to ignore until now.
This was very unpleasant experience. My wife and I felt we were duped, not one time, but multiple times. To be fair, they did complete a good portion of the work (in a messy way, see the pictures). However, the whole project was unfinished and they took the full payment and I’ve been waiting for him to fulfil his commitment for over a month. Now I have to hire another person to clear the mess Nick has made, plus the loss I can’t show and rent the property by just waiting for him, plus the ongoing uncertainty and frustration around this issue.
This is just to share my painful experience dealing with PPN flooring so that people could avoid it.
I have all the pictures and text messages to share with everyone.
